Who will you spend New Years with?

It was once believed that you could influence the luck you would have throughout the coming year by what you did or ate on the first day of the year. new-yearani-uddy.gif

So, bearing that in mind I decided to celebrate the first few minutes of this brand new year in the company of family… You know..just in case. Heh.
newyearani11.gif
It was also once supposed that the first visitor on New Year’s Day would bring either good luck or bad luck that would last the rest of the year.

So…careful who you first greet on New Years Day!

What will you eat?

Many cultures believe that anything in the shape of a circle or ring is good luck, because it symbolizes “coming full circle,” or completing a year’s cycle.

The Dutch seem to have the right idea and claim that eating donuts on New Year’s Day will bring good fortune. I’m in! food-cake.gif

Cabbage leaves are also considered a sign of wealth and prosperity, being representative of paper currency. So, if ya need more dough this year…boil up some cabbage!

What will you be toasting?

The song, “Auld Lang Syne,” written by Robert Burns in the 1700′s, is sung at the stroke of midnight in almost every English-speaking country in the world to bring in the new year.

As some know it is an old Scotch tune, ..”Auld Lang Syne” means “old long ago,” or simply, “the good old days.”

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
And here’s a hand, my trusty friend
And gie’s a hand o’ thine
We’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne

Here’s to you sweet friends.
New and some auld acquaintances………

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hugs and midnight kisses to Y’all! girl.gif

“Moderate” Muzlim?..ha

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

keith-ellison-small2.jpg

Well, whaddya know..another alleged “Muzlim moderate” not so moderate after all.

Real shocka, I know.

She was presented by Channel 4 as an authentic – but anonymous - voice of moderate British Is–lam.

And on Christmas Day the veiled woman described only as “Kha-dijah” was given a national televison platform for propagating her views in an “alternative Christmas message” designed to rival the Queen’s.
Unmasked: the veiled white Mus–lim convert whose great grandmother was a suffragette

She told viewers Jack Straw was wrong to criticise the veil, claiming concealing facial features “liberated” women.
muzlimveil8.jpg

But the Daily Mail can now unveil “Khadijah” – and reveal that she is in fact Elaine Atkinson, an English convert to Is-lam who travels the country working for a radical mu–slim group trying to take political control of Pakistan. ..

..and declares she would like to see Britain’s pubs converted into mosques.

She works for the radical Min–haj ul Qu–r’an group from its UK base at a mosque in nearby Forest Gate – running a “sisters’ group” for other female mu–slims, travelling the country making converts..
Min-haj ul Qu–r’an was established in Pak-istan, but operates in 92 countries, and aims to convert the whole world in Is–lam.

muzlims-angry-small1.jpg

“and aims to convert the whole world in Is–lam”…o yea that sure smacks of fairness, restraint and a “moderate” approach to me now dunnit? man-huh.gif

Of course she conveniently left out these juicy tidbits on her ahem ..”Alternative Christmas” message..

The part in the Ko-rrrran that says not to take Jews and Christians as friends..oh and that lil detail that says if there’s a Jew hiding behind a tree, go kill him. Nice. bombani0-buddy.gif

“But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans (otherwise known as Infi-dels, you know…. Christians and Joooos) wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war).”
(Su-rah 9:5)

This was aired on a Christian HOLYday. christmaswatchingstar_tn.gif

Since when did holidays become an opportunity for muzlims to get “equal time.”?

Ya think Christians or Jewwwwwwz will get air time during bomb-adan in A-rab countries? Yea. Scuse me while I die laughing.

Fancy being addressed on Christianity and what we should believe at Christmas time by none other than a Muzlim.

Oh wait. I have an idea.
Howabout an ex-Muzlim, who has converted to Christianity or better yet..Judaism, go and lecture about Izzzzzzzzzlamic holidays in an Izlamic country on a HOLY day. israel-flag-small-ani.gif

If there are any ahem.. mythical, “moderate” Muzlims, they should be hitting their knees and begging and pleading for forgiveness for the thousands of innocent Americans, Africans, Europeans, Australians, Israelis and fellow A-rabs that their fellow “brethren” have tortured and slaughtered in the name of their cough cough..God. Not arrogantly posturing their made up grievances all over the planet. bombani-ddy.gif

Just remember sweet friends.
Displaying tolerance to something that will at end destroy you, your family and ultimately, your country is not tolerance or grace, it is cowardice bordering on evil.

If you have a strong stomach…here’s the (gag, cough, wretch), Christmas message by the NOT SO MODERATE Muzlim.

The AP is CountinG

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

I’m sure you’ve all seen this already sweet friends.

The U.S. military announced the deaths of seven American soldiers Tuesday, raising the U.S. death toll since the beginning of the Iraq war to at least 2,978 — five more than the number of people killed in the Sept. 11 attacks in the U.S.

U.S. Troop Deaths In Iraq Exceed 9/11 Toll

Ah, yes there is the Associated Press for you.. ..oozing propaganda, aiding the enemy at every turn and now gloating over the death of our soldiers, while taking out their trusty little fingers and toes to count and compare it to the deaths on Sept.11. toes-small.jpg

We all know how they rejoice when cops are killed but celebrate and mourn the cop killers who become heros, so why not the same disparaging treatment toward our troops eh.

newspaper7.gif
Sooooooo…They got nuthin better to count?

Howza bout keepin count of every time the RoP got their jaws tight because they were , cough, cough, “offended”. matha3.gif

Aw..ya need some reminders AP?…Mmmkay.

Bashir Ahmad Tantray was a Christian convert killed in Kashmir November 21, 2006. His crime? Apostasy.

Nigeria: This past November 19, 15 Christians were slaughtered and over a dozen churches burned.

11 other Nigerian churches were burned in September over the Pope’s recent comments. In Ethiopia, six Christians were killed and 15 injured by a mob of 300 Muzzlims.
September 17, an Italian nun was shot and killed in Somalia.

2 churches burned in the West Bank the Pope’s comments.
4 synagogues burned in Gaza December 19, 2006

Italian Father Andrea Santoro, the Catholic priest was shot and killed in Trabzon, Turkey over ..you guessed it…….cartoons.

Paulos Iskander, a Syriac-Orhtodox priest . He was kidnapped on October 9 of this year and beheaded October 11. bomb-carani-buddy.gif

Buddhist monks killed in Thailand…1700 since 2004.

Australia, Indonesia, the list goes on and on and onnnnnn.

Didja lose count of that AP?
man-huh.gif

Curtsey to: AmericanCrusader

Er, or here’s an ideer.

Count all the adjectives that describe Jih–adi terrorists….oh wait, you don’t use the word “terrorist” unless your’e describing an American Marine right?

Lemme getcha started k.
Terrorists are irrational, extremely xenophobic, hostile, and blinded by their dogmatic, fundamentalist faith…and that’s just for starters.. bombani0-buddy.gif

Your turn Associated Press.
Aw. Your’e stuck?

K here’s some more for ya.

Terrorists are selfish, impulsive, and calculating. They act out of their own selfish interest with no regard whatsoever to innocent civilians of society.

Hmmm. Still got writers block ole AP?

Terrorists show a complete lack of remorse, wild egocentricity and quite a bit of grandiosity as well.

Still nuffin huh? writeani.gif

Well, hey. Don’t stop your propaganda AP.

After all, we who love freedom and America have come to expect your expletive laced tirades dripping with venom against the very country you owe your “freedom of expression” to. And by all means don’t ever resort to measured, logical and dispassionate arguments about issues…We’d never recognize ya.

Counting eh? Count your dang blessings for once in your sorry lives.
Howz that for something novel?

muzlimveil8.jpg

LONDON (Reuters) – A man, whose wife made a passing comment about a Mu–slim woman’s full face veil, suffered a broken nose and lost his front teeth after being attacked and headbutted by the woman’s partner, police said on Sunday.

Man attacked over wife’s veil comment
“The victim’s wife made a comment directed to her husband that she thought it must be difficult for the woman wearing the veil to see out of it as it covered her face,” a police spokesman said.

“The suspect began shouting and returned approximately 10 minutes later on his own and repeatedly punched and headbutted the victim.”

The police spokesman said the suspect was about 35-years-old and of Middle Eastern appearance …

fightani-dy.gif
Middle Eastern appearance?..You’re kidding right?

So freedom of speech to wear a veil but not to have an opinion about one… without having your face bashed in by another peacelover from the ROP eh.

muzlims-women-small.jpg
Beat anyone to a pulp within lunging distance if they even “comment” on one of your customs.
But fret not, this has no connection whatsover to the colonial and human rights abuses that define Izzzlamic history. cough cough.

Beyond the train wreck/freak show entertainment aspect of this little incident lies a much more insidious problem my sweet friends and Elli-son is jus the tip o’ the ole jiha-di iceberg.
CA-IR manages to turn every alleged, manufactured offense to Muzlims into a stupid and offensive slugfest, but when one of theirs..ahem..a “Middle Eastern” looking dude hospitalizes a fellow citizen just for an overheard comment…………….well……..ah yes…

It’s a lone wolf, isolated incident by a crazy man. boycriminalfacani.gif
Sooooooo atypical of Muzlims across the globe.

Of course. bombani-ddy.gif

Atypical loners…like these fellow “Middle Eastern” looking dudes huh.

Do You BelievE?

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

WASHINGTON — Americans are big believers in angels, although not necessarily the ones with halos and wings.

An Associated Press/AOL poll said 81 percent think angels are for real. The belief cuts across all backgrounds and religious convictions. More than half those with no religious affiliation call themselves believers.
Poll: Majority Of Americans Believe In Angels

One man surveyed thinks angels can take many forms. He said he felt his late wife’s spirit one winter day when a bluebird flew into his backyard. She loved them. Or, he said, it could just be the person who stops to help you fix a flat tire.

Ah. Angels.

Are they forces of light?..Are they celestial beings who act as an intermediaries between Heaven and earth?
Are they a kind of heavenly rescue squad?

angel-bouguereau.jpg
Have you ever met someone “angelic”? Did they perhaps provide you with your spiritual or emotional needs.

angel-nice-small.jpg

Since days of yore, men and women of all cultures have felt invisible spiritual presences among them that they felt guided and even protected them.

Angels are represented throughout the Bible as a body of spiritual beings who act as an intermediaries between God and men.

angels-bible1.jpg

From the book of Daniel 7:9-10:

9 “As I looked,
“thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,
and its wheels were all ablaze.

10 A river of fire was flowing,
coming out from before him.
Thousands upon thousands attended him;
ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.

The court was seated,
and the books were opened.

BibleGateWay

The books of Isaiah: (Chapter 6) and Daniel: Chapter 10:5,6) offer powerful descriptions.

1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

5 “I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist..”
6 His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.

Angels in the Scripture seem to carry out different and unique missions or errands.

Worship and praise in Heaven. (Isaiah 6:1-3)

Providing physical needs: God has used angels to provide physical needs as in providing a well of water for Hagar’s son to drink. (Genesis 21:17-20)

angel-religious18.jpg
Messengers: to communicate God’s will to men.

Defending and Saving from harm: As Daniel was saved in the lion’s den.
(Daniel 3,6)

My own personal encounter, sweet friends, was on a shadowy night long ago in the city of Jerusalem.

On my first Sabbath in the Holy Land, feeling all autonomous and self-reliant..(Lord knows why, because Ms. “No sense of direction” gets lost in her own house)…I ventured forth…on my own.

I headed toward a theological seminary on this dark evening, anticipating a reunion of sorts with my friends.

After two turns, I knew I was ineffectually and feebly lost.

Along came a very pious religious student, who no doubt limits his conversations with strange women due to modesty and reserve. I inquire and pray he will be of assistance.

He proceeded to lead the way, quite literally, walking a few brisk paces ahead of little ole alarmed..me.

There was construction along the way, twists and turns.

I nearly stumbled and he turned around to see about me, then picked up his pace again. If anyone has ever been in Israel, they have certainly experienced one thing: streets do not interweave. They have a mind of their own.

We arrive in front of the building, and no sooner do I exhale a sigh of utter relief and liberation, I look up to extend my warmest thankfulness……………..and he is gone.

As in gone.
Gone.
Not up the street.
Not down the street.
Not even on the side of the curved, twisted Jerusalem alley way.
Simply..gone.

So, Yes, without hestiation I can say..I met mine.

What say you sweet friends? Believers or skeptics? angelgodani.gif

I have been on the verge of being an angel all my life, but it’s never happened yet.

Christmas celebration at Manger Square near the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. (Photo: Ariel Jerozolimski)

The head of Gaza’s tiny Roman Catholic community on Sunday canceled Christmas eve’s Midnight Mass celebration, citing recent Pale-stinian infighting between the rival Fat–ah and Ha–mas movements.

Gaza: Mass called off due to violence
Father Manuel Musallem said Christian children in Gaza are scared, especially after the three young sons of a Pal–estinian security officer were gunned down in broad daylight as they went to school two weeks ago.

“The children told me Santa Claus won’t come this year because it’s too dangerous,” he said.

Christians will be fleeing Gazahkstan just like they were forced to flee every other area that Muzlims got control over.

‘All my staff at the church have been killed – they disappeared’

The exodus of Christians from parts of Israel and in particular Bethlehem, can be traced back to 1994 when the P.-A. otherwise known as the “Pali Authority” came into power. Coincidence? girllge24.gif

Think there may be a connection to the colonial and human rights abuses that follow throughout Izzlamic history? Just askin.

Well, now if that is to be verified, let us take a peek at Nazareth, which is controlled by Israel and not by the Pali Authority shall we.

israel-nazareth.jpg

Thousands of Christian Ar-abs marched through the streets of Nazareth on Sunday to celebrate Christmas Eve in the boyhood town of Jesus.
xmasani-buddy.gif
The early-evening celebrants who meandered through the town’s narrow streets to a major Christian shrine on a crisp wintry day included hundreds of teenage scouts dressed in uniform, children dressed as Santa Claus, and a marching band playing drums and bagpipes.

Some 74,000 Israeli Arabs live in Nazareth, two-thirds of whom are Mu-slim.
Christian Ar-abs celebrate in Nazareth
Religious tensions have boiled over in the past when the two sides had a heated six-year dispute over attempts by the Mu–slims to build a large mos-que next to the Basilica, one of Christendom’s holiest sites.

Israel eventually barred the construction of the
mos–que four years ago following severe pressure from the Vatican
and a united Christian front against the building project.

Well, now whaddyaknow.
Israel supporting the Christian community. Go figure. flag10.gif

Truly a blessing that thousands of Christians were able to celebrate Christmas, free from the shackles of the PA.
Talk about a contrast eh.

christmaswatchingstar_tn.gif

Let us focus on that sweet friends for….
Tis far nobler to spend your time dreaming of heavenly angels than being consumed and swallowed by the darkness of devils.

AP loves America & Israel: NoT

Monday, December 25th, 2006

“An elderly Pale–stinian man walks past graffiti depicting Santa Claus embracing a child that holds the Ira-qi and Pales–tinian flags painted on a wall at the center of the West Bank town of Ram-allah, Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006.”

Awww…..nice propaganda eh?

Ohh..now doesn’t that just tug at your heart strings? Not.

Sorry Palis..the ole damage has been done y’all.

In six years of the most self-destructive rebellion in memory, the good ole Palis with their ever so competent leader..Yas-ser Ara-fat, literally decimated any skewed sympathy they enjoyed in the world at large. (except for the Libs who jus love to love the enemy..but I digress..)

But hey..nice touch with Santa and all……ya almost had me going there for a minute….no, not really.

We interrupt this propaganda fest for a dose of reality friends.

“Pale–stinian youths hurl stones at Israeli troops, not seen, during an army operation searching for wanted militants in the village of Qa–batiya, near the West Bank town of Je–nin, Monday, Dec. 25, 2006.”

That’s More Like it Palis

But why stop at rocks boys.. After all what bout the Qassams and Katyushas and whatever else the muzz Jih-aad, may be toying with in some Gaza cellar. skull654.gif

Sure, fire them from the ruins of settlements that the Israelis evacuated and gave you, and heck while your’e at it, continue to target civilian populations within the Green Line. Yea. The Press won’t report it anyway so heck…go for it. noo.gif

After all, the Libs and Leftstream Media turn a blind eye when Ham-asss or Fat-aaah Al Aq-sa Mart-yrs commit suicide terrorism in the very heart of Israeli cities.

And the Pali rock throwers remain arrogant.
Well, lemme tell y’all……….it takes a rare form of “chutzpah” for Palis to swank and crow considering their civilization is as spotless as a flippin leopard.
leapord1.gif

So…Good ole AP does it again.
Yawn. Every image and quote dripping and oozing with Jew and America hatred and venom, and none rising above the usual ad-hominem vitriol.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Morning Calm thanks to a MarinE

Monday, December 25th, 2006

What are the holidays like when you have to wear 60 pounds of body armor to dinner? A Marine describes Christmas in Iraq.

Dec. 21, 2006 – Gary Bourland, 37, spent much of last year as a Marine captain in Iraq. His mission: heading up a platoon of Marines assigned to protect his unit’s commanding officer from assassination attempts and the constant shelling and sniper attacks that plagued their base in the volatile city of Ramadi
You Can’t Feel Sorry for Yourself’

… A young kid once wrote to me asking: “Aren’t you afraid of getting hurt or killed in Iraq?” Yes, I am. But you accept that it could happen and if it’s going to happen it’s going to happen. Why worry about it? I figure the explosives are so big, you won’t know what hit you and it will be over in a flash. You dodge bullets, cheat death, spared by modern technology and reinforced steel. You take a shot in the Kevlar vest trauma plate, get knocked down and then get up and scratch off one of our nine lives from the list. You can have your entire Hummer engulfed from multiple-shelled IEDs and gasoline detonating on you, but somehow you make it because wasn’t your time—not yet.

..I went and delivered presents to some younger Marines. They enjoyed the gifts sent from folks in the States who didn’t know them—mostly practical things. They simply said thank you. Those words were meant for all of you back home who send us packages. Nothing can replace the smile on a young Marine’s face when you give him a gift that he wasn’t expecting.

soldiersarmy-1.jpg
..You could relax a bit in the bunker, but you’d wear full combat gear going to eat and going through the line to get your chow. Most of us carried two weapons. You have a 9mm weapon strapped to your leg and a rifle slung over your back. And of course you’re carrying 200 or 250 rounds for the rifle and maybe another 200 for your other weapon. Then there’s the helmet, the neck protector, the body armor. Just the flack, the upper body protection, weighs 60 to 65 pounds. Some guys had full sleeve and leg protection, too. They looked like the Michelin man, but they were probably going to live if they got hit with shrapnel.

I know that the Marines still out there in Iraq and Afghanistan would wish everyone here the very happiest of holidays. We are honored to be on the front lines for you. Sleep well tonight. The Marines are on watch. Merry Christmas and Semper Fi.

soldier-marine-1.jpg
60 pounds of armor while also taking up daily the full Armor of God, and putting their lives in the sovereignty of the Good Lord’s unseen Hand.

The rain of lead exploding around their heads…

Snipers firing from dark places, bombs hidden in doorways, and in the tailpipes of cars. Unknown Soldier, MIA’s, some a victim of a warriors hell.

Some have spilt their blood, leaving behind a hand, arm, or leg so that we can still hug.
Some have paid the price in life or death, so that we may sleep tight and rest.

Sweet friends , as dawn begins to end the night, and sunlight fills this holiday, remember the ones armed with not only 60 pounds of armor, but with their unending selfless love.

Add a prayer for the ones who won’t let even the enemys’ bombs fragment our peace and our dreams of Freedom.

“It is the soldier,
who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag
