Recent history in both the Jewish and Christian communities suggests he’s wrong: Disaffected young people seldom flock to watered-down versions of religious faith that lack continuity or integrity.

The rapidly growing denominations are those that make demands on potential adherents and advance clear standards of right and wrong. That’s why Evangelical and Pentecostal Christianity has grown while “mainline” Protestant denominations have dwindled, and why traditionalist Catholicism boasts more worldwide vitality than liberal strains of the church.

Meanwhile, Mormons uphold multiple restrictions (giving up alcohol, coffee, tobacco, among other things) and yet constitute one of the fastest-growing creeds in the USA.

Talk of “pluralism” only dodges the issue, because if religion fails to provide forceful guidance on the most crucial behavioral issues of life, it offers only meager servings of lukewarm porridge.

That might be good enough for Goldilocks, but it won’t nourish the spiritual seekers who desire — and deserve — more commitment and clarity.

Women have long claimed that they work much harder than men, bearing the brunt of the household chores while holding down a full-time job.

Now research has proved them right – but only just.

Women apparently work a grand total of ten minutes more each day, when the hours of labour inside and outside the home are added up.

It’s true: women do work longer hours than their men

But some refused to accept the results yesterday.

..the research does not recognise factors such as “emotional housework”. She said: “It’s the organising and planning and maintaining of relationships that women do. “When men stop working they switch off. Women are constantly on the go, juggling things to keep things going.”

Arrrg!….lol

Working women are spending about an hour more doing housework and taking care of family members each day than working men do..

And so does This One
Papa might not just come home and kick back with his pipe and slippers anymore, but a new government report shows that American women are still doing more of the work around the house.

Do men in some countries do more than used to “around da house”?..Heck Yeah.

Do they do as much as their wives?….From the folks I speak to…Heck No!..lol

LEWISTON, Maine –Police are investigating as a possible hate crime an incident in which a ham steak was placed in a bag on a lunch table where a group of Somali students were sitting.

Such an incident would be offensive to Som-alis, who are Mu–slims and consider pork unclean.A Lewiston Middle School student was suspended after the incident, which happened April 11.

Superintendent Leon Levesque said the incident is being treated seriously and police are investigating. The center for the Prevention of Hate Violence is working with the school to devise a response plan.

Lawd. Can you imagine if a Christian “ape” infi-del, or “pig” descendant Jew actually sat at their table.

Hmmm…so geniuses, exactly what kinna complex “response plan” is needed to pick up a discarded ham sandwich and toss it in the nearest trash bin. Pfffft.

But what do ya suppose this ahem… “Hate Prevention Center” has done about hate crimes against young girls taunted by guys, rich white kids, (like the Duke LaCross players),Christians, or Jews?

Mebbe the gummint should open a new department: The Pig ‘n Ham Crime Unit..you know..to prevent these dangerous “transgressions and nip them in the bud eh.

Oh, and by the by…for something to be a “hate crime,” doesn’t it first have to be a crime?

There must be a law somewheres against leavin stray illegal ham sandwiches on a table right?

Well it’s nice to know that this school is devising a “response plan” to deal with Ham Crimes…in light of the recent, tragic Virginia Tech massacre. I don’t know bout y’all, but I’ll sleep so much better knowin that.
