Start the day off with a glass of green milk in your a bowl of Lucky Charms eh?
Make sure you have a few drops of green food coloring, or lime-flavored syrup to toss into some seltzer or clear soda to make a fizzy, green beverage.
Just remember: A little drop or two of food coloring goes a looonnngg way.
Serve your pasta with broccili or green Alfredo or pesto sauce.
Serve chicken with green gravy and green mashed potatoes. Yummmmmmmm.
Use with green vegetables, of course.
Make green whipped cream and don’t forget that touch of mint extract!
Offer up some sliced kiwis, green grapes, celery stalks, and don’t forget the green cupcake with green icing, oh..and some lime Kool-aid to wash it all down.
(But easy on the Kool aid k?)
And my all time favorite: Mint ice cream..with or without the chocolate chips.

PURIM~! is in 2 weeks!
In a nut shell:
Purim is one of the most joyous holidays on the Jewish calendar.
After all…. how often does a miracle come our way?
Wer’e left with the inescapable realization that nothing is quite as it seems, and that G-d is always pulling the strings, even when events appear to be “just happening.”
Ever get that feelin?
It commemorates the time when the Jewish people who were living in Persia were saved from extermination.
The twisted, maniacal villain of the story is Haman, the arrogant, egotistical advisor to the king.
Haman despised the Jew Mordechai because Mordechai refused to bow down to him, so Haman plotted to exterminate ALL the Jewish people.
With the intervention of Mordechai’s lovely neice, Esther, the Jewish people were saved, and Haman was hanged on the very same gallows that he prepared for Mordechai.
Payback can be such a bummer eh?
A time-honored Purim custom is for all children, and some of the adults as well.heh… to dress up in costume.
This is also the significance behind the traditional Purim food, the hamantash, a pastry whose filling is hidden within a three-cornered crust, just like Haman’s three cornerned hat.
Y’all know by now that If ya wanna celebrate like a Jew, however…ya gotta eat!
So, without further ado……I give you………….Back by popular request..:
1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
Any kind of jelly, preserve, fruit butter, or even pie filling that ya like.
Here’s whatcha do:
Mix the butter and/or margarine with the sugar.
Add the egg and blend.
Add the orange juice.
Then add your flour, 1/2 cup at a time, alternating white and whole wheat.
Mix in the baking powder and cinnamon.
You can refrigerate the batter for few hours to make it easier to handle. Heh.
Roll out your dough.
(Try rolling it between two sheets of wax paper lightly dusted with flour to avoid gettin your hands all ikky or gettin holes in yer dough)
Cut out 4 inch circles… like this:
Now, the fun part:
Drop your filling of choice in the middle of each circle…like this.
Fold up the sides to shape a triangle.
Paint each hamantash with a wash of beaten egg to make it look purdy if you like.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 15-20 minutes, but make sure the filling doesn’t spill out..heh.
Traditional Purim fillings are poppyseed and prune.
Many also use apricot, cherry, strawberry jelly or jam, apple butter, or even cherry pie filling.
Now eat as many as you can without countin calories or havin your hubby or wife have to pry them away from ya.
Or mebbe jus go for the potato pancakes instead. MMMMMMMMmmmm.
