…Dragged mah crew down to the Macy’s, 34th annual show stopping fireworks display. Woot!
I can’t see it enough times.4thofjuly

Can you say Wowza!

It featured more than 40,000 shells..all exploding in a 26-minute jaw-dropping spectacle.

And I mean spectacle.

The fireworks were fired from six barges on the Hudson River.
There were wall to wall people…and I mean WALL to WALL…between 24th and 50th Streets.

    Angel,

When I ever get to NY you had better feed me as your posts get me very hungry!

Politics I got my fill, I am speaking of food!

    God Bless

  2. proof says:

Food looked scrumptious! Lots better than my bachelor cooking, that’s for sure!

  3. Gramma2many says:

Hey Angel, I am with Christopher with the food and NY!!
What did I do? Part of the family went river rafting and I stayed onshore with a five year old because he does not like the river. We played mini golf in the little town they were rafting from. Great day for us also:)
I am afraid the closest I will EVER be to NY is when I go to Washington DC in August. Am really looking forward to that trip.

    So what did I do?

I got things dun so I might enjoy some freedoms in the future. Gotta fight to celebrate this life we have been granted. Not always what we like to go thru, but blessing come to those who are persistant and sacrifice for the higher good.

Sound like a Shakespeare, but I ain’t. Just a good ole boy who’z gunna git it dun when it has to be dun.

Glad you enjoyed the freedom day, without family, loved ones, country and G-d what is there to celebrate in the end?

Hiya Angel …. I hope your Independence Day was full of joy.

    Food too!

  12. Karen Howes says:

Looks like you had a fun and delicious time with your crew, Angel!

It was a blessedly QUIET weekend… not even many firecrackers going off around the neighborhood, which I found strange.

  13. Ron Russell says:

Can I come to your place to eat I’m so tired of my own cooking. I’ve had to prepare all meals for the last year since my wife has been ill. She was a great cook, still is but just not able now. Hope you had a great 4th—looks as you did!

  14. sayitlikeitis says:

You are looking pretty cute, ANGEL.

  15. Matt says:

Once again, I come to your site, and go away hungry. If you keep doing this, Angel, you’re going to have to start feeding all of us!! :D

  16. Opus06 says:

You look beautiful. And the food looks fabulous.

  17. GM Roper says:

Hey Angel, you know, If one ate everything you’ve pictured above, the fireworks would be inside the belly, not outside where people can go Ohhhh, Ahhhhh!!!

  18. slamdunk says:

Happy belated Independence Day. Our just turned four year old stayed awake long enough to see the town’s fireworks show from the field behind our house. For her twin brother–better luck next year as he was snoozing.

  19. Trestin Meacham says:

    Now I’m hungry. lol

  20. JINGOIST says:

WOW! The food looks great as does the hostess! It sounds like you all had a great time. I was in TN with family and dogs. We also had some great ribs and BBQ chicken. We didn’t go to the fireworks on the river in Chattanooga because the neighbors provided an amazing show of their own! I bought some mortars here in FL and brought them up and between fireworks and food we had a “blast.” :-)

  21. Brooke says:

We grilled burgers and sat on the front porch, from where we could see some fireworks.

I’m glad you had a good celebration!

  22. Rosemary says:

Beautifully wonderous. I know I’ll never grow too old, either.

Here is a gift for you from someone who gifted me: httpyoutu.be/OaGHUZ-8DWw The name of it is Only Israel. I thought you might enjoy it. Happy Independence Day you sweet Child. ;)

  23. Joe says:

    Suculent looking ribs! Mmmmm-good!

  24. cube says:

Darn you! Your photos are making me hungry and I overate as it is ;-) I forgive you. Hope you and yours had a wonderful Independence weekend.

We moved from Manhattan in 1968 and I never got to see the Macy’s fireworks show :-( I did, however, manage to get lost in Macy’s when I was 6 years old. I remember looking at some Popeye soaps and the next thing I knew, my mom and aunt had walked off without me. I ran to an employee and gave her my name and they called it over the loudspeaker. They kept me entertained until my frantic mother & aunt came to pick me up.

Also, my first bike came from Macy’s. My dad and I brought it home with us on the subway. I got many loving looks from strangers who could see the joy in my face as I held on to my bike.

    Thanks for the memories.
