“Challenging one of the great taboos of French politics, a new book has laid bare the love life of the country’s amorous leaders..

According to the book, President Jacques Chirac and his predecessors Francois Mitterrand and Valery Giscard D’Estaing have juggled the fate of France, their families and a bevy of lovers with great ease, helped partly by an acquiescent media.

Book reveals French politicians’ s-ex conquests continues….

“All these politicians present themselves as clean-living individuals, but at the same time almost all French male politicians are compulsive womanisers,”…

What is tolerated for men would never be tolerated for women politicians. They would immediately be discredited if they went around having affairs.”

Centuries of written history of Western societies document that men and women were treated radically differently when it came to “sexual matters .”

Some argue that historically, these different sexual standards originated from women’s value to men as simply “property” and objects of exchange, and indeed in many cultures, this still holds true to this very day.

To preserve their “value”, it was essential that girls and women preserve their virginity before marriage, but not boys and men.

According to social learning theory, women are punished for behaving in sexually permissive ways by being stigmatized or isolated, whereas men are rewarded by achieving popularity or admiration for the identical behaviors (Oliver & Shibley Hyde, 1993; Sprecher, Regan, McKinney, Maxwell, & Wazienski, 1997).

Women, being their own worst enemies, are also more likely to label other women’s sexual behaviors as “promiscuous” than men’s sexual behaviors, which supports the sexual double standard even more dramatically.

And while many argue that what politicians “do between the sheets” is not of national concern, I vehemently disagree.

Ask yourself:

What are the most important qualities for a Prime Minister/President?
idealistic
charismatic
knowledgeable
determined
moral?

If you answer charismatic, remember Hit-ler was charismatic.

Do you think he must be determined so that he won’t be swayed by other people into courses of action that are detrimental to his country?

Do you want a leader who can label “evil” when he sees it?

As moral standards decline our nation is in need, now more than ever of men and women of character.

A person’s actions stem from their beliefs.
This is what forms his core character.

We have all seen far too many examples at the corporate, political, and personal levels of leaders who exhibit less-than-ideal character, which corrupted their actions.

What has become of statesmen with moral character?

What has become of world figures who not only withstood the extreme adversities of their offices and situations but flourished and grew under pressure?

A leader requires inner strength to sustain him or her.

We make excuses.
We forgive all too quickly, with no genuine remorse from our “leaders”.
We allow them to disrespect their wives, and subsequently all women - with little or no disdain.

Some secretly envy them.

It takes inner strength to limit ones’ sexual experiences to encounters within committed, monogamous relationships. coupleofa.gif

If they don’t even have that much restraint, Lord help us if we present them with the responsibility of leading an entire nation.

Strength of character. We deserve it.
We should demand nothing less.

As far as France, …lowering standards yet again…ah yes, we’ve come to expect that from them.

“If you answer charismatic, remember Hit-ler was charismatic.”…. and as many would claim, so was Clinton…. the man who had Bin Laden surrounded in Afganisthan, and let him go before 911. If a man lacks the strength to be faithful to his wife and family, how then can he be faithful, and strong to the country he must lead and represent?

Bush is a man of moral principle. I can prove it

Think about this, how many people do you know that use chainsaws on a regular basis? How many of them are good, moral people? All of them right? GWB runs a chainsaw every time he goes to Crawford, so theres my proof.

ABF…the Clinton statements are a bit of a stetch with the OBL comparison…I don’t think he’s a bad man…just warped priorities. I think Bush puts the good of the country in front of his own aspirations. I don’t see Bush doing the political TV circuits just to get airtime after he’s out of the presidency. Clinton was the most important thing to Clinton.

Sleeping around involves the person in a complicated web of lies without fail. This darkens the moral view of this person, inclining them to disrespecting women, thinking carnally, and focusing upon their own pleasures. It becomes increasingly difficult for such a person to conceive of anything greater than his pleasure and as a result, the person’s external world becomes a mirror of his private life. Note how Clinton made agreements with North Korea that sounded good, but were empty? He must have told Monica the same kind of thing. And Jacques Chirac? Doesn’t his government’s profitting from the Oil-For-Food scandal reflect his own sexual profitting from however many women help him out? Human beings are unitary and they seek to behave consistently in public as in private, simply to reduce the complexity of living two lives. Angel has nailed it. Electing moral people is critical to the survival of a nation, especially our own.

I’ve said before that I don’t trust men who are overly charismatic. I’ve run into too many who are liars and cheats!

Exellent points in this post, Angel, and I’m not suprised that the French and the liberals loved Clinton. The liberals especially; he made their behavior seem more acceptable!

Different subject: I’m going to try another trackback here, even though I don’t have a post on the same subject. I want to see if I have figured out how to have your post linked on my blog. I think I’ve finally got it, but I’m not sure!

Has Wal Mart Joined the Liberals?…

In part: Wal-Mart never excluded anyone from being employed there based on their sexual preference. To them, and more importantly to the consumer, it didn’t matter….

Great post Angel. Faith in God, country, family, and self. That’s where men get morals. And, they must be learned and kept so the family and constant self-evaluation are essential.
    Thanks.

Yes, great post Angel. I don’t understand the women that end up with these guys, especially the French (Ewwwwwwwa!). I worked for the French Consul in Memphis, and those French political guys sound so smooth on the phone, but when you meet them in person, they are short and ugly. I guess some women will sleep with anybody. Shame on me, that was such a general statement. I take it back. From my personal experience, this is true.

  12. Right Truth says:

    Terrorism, it’s all about sex…

There are several interesting theories about what causes a young man to turn to terrorism. One analysist suggested the lack of sexual experience, availability of sexual partners, and lack of sexual stimulation leads a poor young man to look forward…

  13. Veritas says:

The way I look at it, if you can’t trust someone in private matters, how can you trust them with public matters. Likewise, I also think that if I can’t trust you in small matters, like coming home by curfew, then how can I trust you in big matters, like “behaving” when you are out with your friends.

This all just came together as I was typing but it is true, it all comes down to upbringing and the expectation of proper behavior. If biys are given a wink and a nod then they continue thinking it’s OK. Well it is NOT OK.

  14. Gayle says:

Okay, well I screwed that up, didn’t I? *sigh*

I’ll link to you on Monday’s post, as the post I trackbacked to here is just about a thing of the past. I’ll get this trackback thing working right yet! :)

Unfortunately, America is going down this road as well. Although Pres. Bush is a moral man, our last prez turned oral sex into a a topic of dinner conversation with our kids, and cavorted about more or less openly, while his wife turned a blind eye.

    *sigh*
