Love is Healthy

Sooner or later, love usually ends up hurting. But in its early, blissful throes, it actually lessens pain — at least of the physical kind.

That’s the finding, reported Wednesday, of a study by pain scientists and a psychologist who studies love.

Researchers say just a photo of one’s beloved activates the brain’s reward centers something like a drug might.

Learning how to harness this could help relieve pain without drug-induced side effects, scientists suggest.
Love is a powerful painkiller, study finds

Bruce Naliboff, ….said that the next step could be to separate out how much, if any, of the pain reduction was related to sexual desire.

“It’d be interesting to do an experiment with not just an acquaintance, but someone you feel close to — just not a sexual attraction,” said Naliboff…

That might include budding platonic relationships.

Recalling that first meeting of minds over drinks during the conference, Aron said, “Talk about novel, challenging, exhilarating…. That night, when we had our conversation, if you heated my arm I wouldn’t have felt anything.”

The Eskimos, they say, have a hundred different words for snow. Perhaps we should have as many for “friend.”

Best friend, Childhood buddy, Intimate companion, close friend, casual friend, even….. blog buddy.

Some want someone to catch them when they fall..
Some wish to do the catching..

Ok..maybe not quite like that.laughing0

Or this.laughthumb

Some teach us what it is like to be ourselves, and some help us discover ourselves for the very first time..

Some sow seeds ..
Some give Faith..

While others are loved for the example they set….

Some are for the shared times, some for the confidences…
Some come into our lives so unexpectedly…
and part just as quickly…..

But even the best of friendships can be lost or destroyed due to neglect, anger or, sometimes, …simply circumstances.

And yet, with that loss, we often seem to lose a part of ourselves………………… that can never quite be recovered.

But then seemingly… out of nowhere..
Along comes Love………yet again.

A loyal friend laughs at your jokes when they’re not so good, and sympathizes with your problems when they’re not so bad.
-Arnold H. Glasgow-

Thank you all sweet friends for your unending support .
You are what keeps me goin..(and ranting..and fussing..and carryin

What say y’all?

The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you’ve had.

A true friend is more rare than a flawless diamond.

Ok, redneck logic needs explainin’. Yep they both have a brilliance about them, yep they both have multi faceted aspects to them, yep yah gotta search for em, yep yah gotta learn about what a true one is, yep dang right they are a woman’s and man’s best friend.

Conslusively I will state a friend is far more priceless than a diamond because a true friend will always be one of a kind.

But then Rubies are a whole ‘nother story. ;-) How bout we don’t go there on a Friday nite!

Thanks Angel for what you speak from the heart and to all the followers that are true friends in their own sparkling way.

I do hope you all find a gem of a friend, even if they might be one in the rough.

Friendship is a concept that means many things to many people. In truth, they provide strength where it is lacking, they soothe hurts where there is pain, and they give us good times when we really need them. A person is wise to cultivate many friendships and to maintain them where possible because they are the people who keep us grounded in reality and life and this allows us to return the favor. Thank you for reminding me of this Angel :-)

Very Nice Post, Angel. I’ll Probably be Back to Read more.

I Get a lot of benefit from Friendships that are Platonic. I believe that was one of the Themes in this Post.

I’m not sure why, but one of the things that I was thinking about while reading the Comments below this Post was that they are all so Positive and the Post is very Positive and here’s the Thought that came to me. Positive Attitudes are Spread Better by Modeling a Positive Attitude, than by Simply Telling someone “You Need to be more Positive.” Thanks so much to all of you for being Positive.

Very nice, Angel. Can’t say much more than that.

You Know, I kept thinking about the Picture of the the Guy Carrying the Girl and the Girl Carrying the Guy and how when the Girl is Carrying the Guy, she is much more Exhausted, than the Guy is in the Picture in which he is Carrying the Girl. In Fact, the Girl seems Content, yet I have always Struggled with this Idea of Submission. I guess I have been Exposed to too many Men who are Domineering and do not Know how to Respectfully Carry Someone.

Also, I’ve been Looking Around your Blog and have not Found any Easy Way in which to add you to the Blogs that I Follow. Is that just a Feature that is Offered to those who do their Blogs through BlogSpot? That sort of Sucks. Oh well.
