Rest In Peace Oriana

“ROME — Oriana Fallaci, the Italian writer and journalist best known for her abrasive interviews and provocative stances, has died, officials said Friday. She was 76….
Combative Writer Oriana Fallaci Dies
“Fallaci’s recent publications _ including the best-selling book “The Rage and The Pride,” which came out weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks _ drew accusations of racism and inciting hatred against Mus–lims.
A group in France unsuccessfully sought to stop distribution of the book, while two other associations have requested that it carry a warning notice…
It also took the Catholic Church to task for being what she considers too weak before the Mus–lim world.
Describing Europe as “Eurabia,” Fallaci said the continent “has sold itself and sells itself to the enemy like a prostitute.”
A brilliant, outspoken woman who was always under the gun for her fiery statements and what many considered “controversial views” on relations between the western world and Izlam.
I am humbled by her strength, which was her trademark.
Always on the forefront of fights to defend women’s rights, and never backing down in the face of threats.
Rest in Peace Oriana.
You blazed the trail.

“Blazed the trail” she most certainly did, Angel. She had courage to spare! I am saddened to hear that she died. This is the first I’ve heard of it. May she rest in peace… finally. She certainly didn’t find much peace while she was here.

She never backed down from her beliefs. She stood up to the Nazis and she stood up to Islam despite criticism from her own country. She spent a lot of her final years in New York…I hope Italy realizes their loss.
