ChildhooD OpenTrackback Weekend
In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play.
Friedrich Nietzsche
So, like a forgotten fire, a childhood can always flare up again within us.
Gaston Bachelard
When I grow up I want to be a little boy.
Joseph Heller
Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air – explode softly – and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth – boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn’t go cheap, either – not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.
Robert Fulghum

Whew! For a little bit there, Angel, I thought you were turning in to another Dan Trabue! (LOL!)
“Childhood innocence seems almost entirely lost does it not sweet friends?

Yep–be adult-like and give the adolescents of the world a hard, meaningful spanking instead of letting them kick us in the shins!

I have a vicarious childhood through my kids. Although I can’t be their friend (I’m Momma), I can feel their joy while playing, or seeing something new to them that is amazing, that the wonder is gone for me.
October 6th, 2006 at 9:45 am
LOL! Angel is far from turning into a Dan Trabue, thank goodness!
Cute post, Angel. Lately though, I feel like the parachuttes would break and I would be bombarded with boxes of crayons. LOL! It’s okay, I’m just a bit overworked!
Now I must go out into the yard and get some work done. (See what I mean?)

Some of us awake in the night with strange phantasms of enchanted hills and gardens,

i am afraid i have so many embarrassing moments, and i never imagined the good, the bad, the boring, the fun would remain with me still, as if they only happened a bit ago.
i imagined myself a totally different person, and yet, i feel very much the same in some ways. when i look back, through the years, life seems incredibly short, yet the years are indeed long.
