The Power of Words
Feel Good Friday is upon us.
Turn it up sweet friends and watch for a couple of minutes.
You won’t be sorry.
Handle them carefully, for words have more power than atom bombs. —(Pearl Strachan)
Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can’t, and the other half who have nothing to say and keep on saying it. —(Robert Frost)
THANK YOU ALL.

Beautiful video. Words have a power that can either lift up or destroy the world.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend.

Love that quotation from Robert Frost. So true!
I’m looking forward to this weekend. We should get one glorious-weather day, and I plan to take the convertible for a spin.

It’s raining here in D.C. – gray, cold and wet. The government will shut down soon just because Obama, Reid and the Democrats wants us to bankroll a corporation that manipulates women into slaughtering their babies – specially poor African American women whose kids would be to expensive to support.
But despite this gloom, a ray of sunshine peers through the clouds by bloggers like you who encourage the transmission and exchange of good ideas that will change the world. Thank you and keep doing what you’re doing.
And one of the richest and deepest word of all is Shalom; it goes beyond peace. Have a good weekend my friend. Shalom.

Angel, Beautiful video and message! I was taught early on about word’s and some people to this day have no clue as to what I mean when I say word’s have meaning.
They often say “well no word’s have definition”. That is true, however the definitions change when word’s are strung together in a sentence or phrase giving each word new meaning.
This post of yours brings what I have been taught and saying for years into very clear perspective,,,,,Thank you!

Both she and Robert Frost have quite a way with words.

I have always been in awe of the power of words. From the elegance and beauty of poetry to the somber pronouncements of textbooks. Words can evoke emotions, cause thought, create desire, or achieve all of these simultaneously and more. Who cannot read the first few sentences of Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass and not be drawn into the work? The power of words is the power of ideas and the masterful use of those words can stir the emotions while resonating within the mind. Thank you Angel for reminding me of this

OH, DARN! Was going to blog that video this coming week! But, glad you did
Just had it sent to me yesterday…it’s wonderful, isn’t it.
I feel for our children in this country…..words seem to escape them, the beauty of literature, the memorization of poetry….all lost. Except the one that starts with an F, of course
April 9th, 2011 at 2:46 pm
It’s not just the words…it is the application.
Great video!
April 9th, 2011 at 4:13 pm
Definitely the application .
April 9th, 2011 at 5:53 pm
Definitely makes you take stock of how fortunate you are, eh?

“Its only words”. by The Bee Gees
Talk in ever lasting words and dedicate them all to me.
And I will give you all my live I’m here if you should call to me.
You Think that I don’t even mean a single word I say.
It’s only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away.
You Think that I don’t even mean a single word I say.
It’s only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away.
It’s only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away.
It’s only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away
Extremely powerful…be very careful how you use them…
Thanks Angel for your words….

After Reading a Spiritual Quote from No Apology, I Realized that there are also Verses that Relate to the Subject at Hand.
“3) Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4) Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5) Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6) And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7) For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8) But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” (James 3:3-8, KJV)
Aside From Words, the Other Thing that is Powerful is Attitude.
“19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20) For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” (James 1:19-20, KJV)
Lord Teach Us how to Speak the Truth and yet also to Love.

How Funny! The 8) should be Simply an 8. It’s Cute, though, and it Made me Laugh.
Yes. That One Really is Supposed to be a Smiley Face.

My dear blog friend,
I am too often wrapped up in things and do not go perusing some of my favorite blogs often enough. You write with power and passion on some of the critical issues of the day. But today this – the sharing of a wonderful video – has lifted my spirits!
May God richly bless you, Angel, and never be deterred by opposition. Opposition tells you that someone considers you to be an effective weapon against them. Pretty much if you are against something, I am too!
