Passover and Easter Wishes:)

Ethiopia last month, Muslim extremists torched dozens of Christian churches and homes, displacing thousands, in retaliation for two Christians who were accused of desecrating a Koran.

A Muslim mob attacked a Christian church in Hyderabad, Pakistan, killing two Christians and burning copies of the Bible in retaliation for Florida pastor Terry Jones’s threats to burn the Koran.

A Lenten Prayer for Middle East Christians

Just before Lent, Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan’s sole Christian government minister, was gunned down for opposing Pakistan’s harsh blasphemy law, which outlaws criticism of Islam. Bhatti became the second Pakistani politician in two months killed over the law.

In Saudi Arabia, two Indian nationals have been languishing in prison since January for praying publicly. The two Christians were reportedly beaten while in police custody and pressed to convert to Islam.

The Obama administration has neglected Christian persecution, choosing instead to pursue a “partnership” and “broader engagement based upon mutual interest and mutual respect” with what the president and much of the media often refer to as the “Muslim world.”

But that term – “Muslim world” – is a misnomer. It serves only to reinforce the idea that Christians do not belong in the Middle East.

As we know from the Bible, however, Christianity was born in the Middle East and predates Islam there by 700 years..

Needless to say, the anti-semitic attacks by Muzlims are simply too numerous to mention.

That “lamb” picture ought to get the Nobel Prize for Photography!

A blessed and holy Passover and Easter to you, too. You always brighten my day – and I thank you.

    Have a blessed Easter Angel.

  4. Ricky Vines says:

Christians need to adopt the ways of the Israelis to survive in places like these. We need a militant theology to respond to the evil of Islam in an effective way. We, Jews and Christians, were not created and redeemed only to become victims of the spawn of Satan. Passover reminds us of our freedom from the slavery of Egypt, sin and all that evil like Islam. May the angel of death deliver us just as our ancestors were delivered.

We in the west definitely don’t know anything about persecution by muslims. Christians in other parts of the world are far more courageous than us.

Hope you have a great easter Angel.

  13. Trestin says:

The sad part- Ethiopia is perhaps the most stable country here.

  14. Always On Watch says:

A blessed Easter to you, Angel.

The AOW household will be having a quiet Easter dinner at home tomorrow. Nobody has invited us to partake with them. **sigh**

But we’ve got ham with all the trimmings. I hope that I can enjoy the meal. I had some dental surgery yesterday. OUCH!

  15. Carol-Christian Soldier says:

I agree with MK- our sisters and brothers in the muslim controlled lands have been persecuted for a very long time and still stand strong in their Faith–
Thank you – Angel- for the wonderful ( and ‘yummy’) images-
    Hugs and Blessings to You–

Oh, I meant to mention in your passover post that I loved the idea of chocolate covered matza. That is the first time I saw that and I am going to try that for my family as a year-round snack. Dark chocolate on matza sounds very delicous and healthy to me! :) :)

  22. robot says:

Happy Passover and Easter to you and yours, Angel. That’s quite a feast you’ve got there. Now I’m hungry. :)

Hope you had a wonderful holiday!

  28. bob says:

Had a great Easter holiday. Then, I see your pics of your delicacies and I wonder what live is really all about. Oh, I love food!

BTW, when my son was in kindergarten, he came home one day and demanded that he become “Drewish”. We found out that he had learned about Hanukkah and Passover foods in kindergarten and he wanted the best of both worlds. Like father, like son…

  29. John Washburn says:

No Easter message from the President. But he has yet to miss giving a statement during a Muslim holidy.

  30. Freedom, by the way says:

Persecution of Christians around the world is becoming so commonplace I’m afraid the outrage is gone. I am outraged of the continued persecution of Jews and Christians–where is everyone else’s? Hope you had a wonderful Easter/Passover.

  31. DeanO says:

Angel – Amen! Amazing the vision that Obama has. A president who supposedly championed the rights of people has turned such a cold heart to the plight of Christians in Muslim Nations. God bless and I trust your Easter was wonderful

  32. Kimbal says:

Angel, God bless you and yours! Your blog is one of the most important blogs in the blogosphere because you are clever at adding visuals and you are very gregarious but you also bring to the fore vital information that people should know. I do not comment that often but yours is one of my favorite blogs!
