Unhealthy ForgivenesS

Statement by:Hanoi John Kerry
“As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.
I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.
It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.”
O.K. Raise yer hand if you think that is the weakest, most insincere apology in political history. ![]()
Well, well, well, he here is foaming at the mouth, locked, loaded and primed, ready to do even more damage.
Nice moralizing tone by the way eh.
This alleged apology doesn’t even pass the laugh test.
Does the term adding “insult to injury” mean anythin to ya Johhny boy?
He musta read the 4 easy steps on how to make fake apologies:
1-Sound sincere. Fake it if ya hafta.
2-Get the injured party to feel sorry for you.
3-Make excuses. If you hafta..make alot of them.
4-Shift blame. Did I say shift blame?
Let us dissect shall we.
“I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted..”
Hmmm…translation: I was strong-armed into saying something sooooo
“I’m sorry I got caught.”
or ….I’m sorry YOU (meaning the entire country no doubt) are as stupid as our U.S. troops because YOU clearly misinterpreted …….
Duh @ all of us I guess. ![]()
The following are Apologies that don’t pass the sincerity test and do not heal:
Conditional apologies……”I’m sorry BUT…”
Half hearted apologies… “I’m sorry that YOU feel bad……”
as the wrongdoer trivializes any kind of a damage he or she may have caused.
But guess what Johnny boy……
Receiving a forced, clearly bitter, insincere apology is not only insulting and annoying ; it also serves to escalate the problem, creating more ill-will and distancing in the long run. Got that?
People usually become even more offended than they initially were. (if that’s even possible in this case)
It becomes much more difficult to resolve the offense and to move forward in a positive direction.
Translation:
Hanoi John: Your’e in even deeper doogie doo. ![]()
A sincere apology , on the other hand enhances, rather than
diminishes, the person courageous enough to apologize. An effective apology restores trust.
Yet I wager we all know people who seem to have a mighty difficult time when it comes to acknowledging their faults or making true, lasting amends.
Do ya hear regret?
Do ya hear him taking any responsibility?
Do ya hear a promise to make efforts to change the offensive or hurtful behavior?
Do you evidence any plans for future corrective actions?
Alright, judges, take out your scoresheets and let’s score this shall we?
Ingredients of a TRUE apology:
1-Acknowledge what you did. err…ding!..nope.
2-Take responsibility for your actions and admit that you made a mistake. um…ding!…nope.
3-Acknowledge the impact that your actions may have had or the bad feelings they may have caused. well, well,…ding!..nope.
4-Repair the damage and state your future intentions. uh..ding!…nope.
Well as the Bible says……
“By their fruits…”
Johnny boy…….You are so busted.
I got a new campaign slogan for ya though. Free o’ charge Hanoi John.
Dhimmicrats: Elevating “insulting the peoples’ intelligence” into an art form.

As you know, in a deposition in January, I was asked questions about my relationship with Monica Lewinsky. While my answers were legally accurate, I did not volunteer information.
Indeed, I did have a relationship with Miss Lewinsky that was not appropriate. In fact, it was wrong. It constituted a critical lapse in judgment and a personal failure on my part for which I am solely and completely responsible.
SOUNDS FAMI LIAR….I JUST LOVE WHEN POLITICAN ATTEMPT THE TWO STEP BACKTRACK….SORT OF CHUBBY CHECKER’S “TWIST” WITHOUT THE MUSIC….

“Listen to me, I’m going to say this again. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” …NOR DID I INTEND TO DISHONOR THE TROOPS IN ANYWAY..SERIOUSLY, THE ONLY CRIME I HAVE COMMITTED IS ATTEMPTING TO TELL A JOKE, WHEN IN FACT I AM A VERY UNFUNNY MAN…THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT…..

Not Accepted…
Finally, an apology from John Kerry:
WASHINGTON (AP) - Fearful of damaging his own party in next week’s elections, Sen. John Kerry apologized Wednesday to “any service member, family member or American” offended by remarks deemed by Republicans …

Count how many times in his statement he refers to himself. That’s no apology.

The Troops Respond to Kerry…
Oooh look! It’s Ghengis Kahn!Meanwhile, Hillary and Murtha question Kerry’s wisdom. Imus begs Kerry to be quiet.Although Kerry has finally apoligized (sort of) after much pressure, this is just the latest insult to the military. Genocide. Terrorizing…

Malice? Stupidity? Or both?…
Heard/seen Kerry’s latest piece of stupidity? STACLU runs it as “Kerry’s Apology To The Military” but I beg to differ with that characterization… UPDATE: STACLU now titles, “Kerry’s Non-Apology To The Military”

Here comes Obama…now we just need to have Hillary say, “that’s gay” in response to some random question…and he’s in the clear. Him and his 2 years worth of political experience. Cling to straws baby!

LOL…This is definately a great post. I’m raising my hand; this HAS got to be, as you said, the weakest most insincere apology in political history for sure. His own party is shaking their moonbat heads in total disbelief. That’s pretty bad right there. He’s one arrogant SOB. Pathetic. Well I can tell you as a Former Marine his words has echoed not only in Iraq but through out our great military and every branch of service. This couldn’t of happened at a better time with the elections less than a week away. Americans are known for their short term memories, but like I said the elections are so close it’s going to remain fresh in the minds of voters right to the voteing booths. The undecided have decided and the Independents and last minute swing voters are leaning away from that party for the most part IMO. It put this war in a whole new perspective. It’s not about a failed policy as much as it’s sticking up for our troops. Thanks John. You worthless POS.
By the way…
I added you to my blog roll. It might take a few for it to show up. I use blog rolling but it’s on there.

Hi Angel. Sorry to be so late getting around to you. I’ve been away for awhile.
A commentor on Old Soldier’s post said regarding Kerry: “He was for the joke before he was against it.” LOL! I absolutely love that!
AFREEDOM said Kerry had his head stuck in the clouds. To my dismay I had to disagree with him. That’s not where Kerry has his head stuck. His head is stuck in a very dark place. I don’t believe I need to elaborate.
I despise despising anyone, but I’ve despised Kerry since Vietnam. This didn’t do anything positive to endear him to me. The Dems forced him to make an apology, I’m sure, and it was half-assed at best.

What a wonderful post, especially the insight that a sincere apology “restores trust.” Since ‘trust’ is the measure of good mental health in the psychiatric and psychology professions, the scape-goating character of Mr. Kerry’s apology is doubly-suspect.
Scape-goating, like conspiracy theories, is the sign of a determinist, that is, the person who believes humans are inherently evil, selfish, emotional and prone to error, and thus are ‘helpess’ to influence events. Mr. Kerry is already a self-admitted “realist” in International Relations, so being a determinist as well is no surprise.
What a wonderful blunder the determinist/scape-gaoter has made , so close to so many close elections!
‘Be free.’

He was for the joke before he was against the joke. Did you know he is a Vietnam vet?
I have a post on this one, and how the real democrat perspective onthe military escaped out in this comment.
Vote GOP people, otherwise the only military actions we will take will end up like Somalia.

I understand that he is considering taking a job as a stand up comic, because he can tell a joke with the best straight face of them all.
He must be a howl in all those smoke… er…wine and brie filled rooms, where democrats strategize. I’ll bet he got that joke from Teresa -it has such class and dignity about it.
Seriiously folks, this whole kerfluffle is not good news for the Republicans. John Kerry is worthy of being the best poster boy for the Dems ever, and the best ad the Republicans ever had.

Another excellent post Angel!
Your wit is so amusing!
Sincerity is not a John kerry quality. Did I say quality? WHAT?

A non-apology because Kerry isn’t sorry. His bias against the military is palpable. Look at his history of anti-military remarks.

I would like to issue that apology to Kerry!
Kerry has just dug his own political grave with this recent bout of arrogent, holier than thou attitude towards the military and the intelligence of the U.S. public in general.
His scorn for us, and the military in particular, is thick enough to cut with a knife.

O.K. Raise yer hand if you think that is the weakest, most insincere apology in political history.
He can’t even offer an apology without botching that up. Not that he botched his joke, in the first place. He said it as he meant to say it; he just didn’t have the judgment-call to see how botched it was, to begin with.
