My father’s response after I argued George Washington had long hair so why shouldn’t I, “When you start wearing silk stockings like Washington, you can grow long hair like he did.”

My Dad’s most memorable line when we would get lost, “this is a short cut, it’s longer but bumpier!”

I think we could use a little more ‘hand’ to our kids if we’re sane and loving and it’s got to be done…not that I think beating is acceptable, but…
Other than that, I loved this; your pictures are so powerful and the Daddy love oozes….thanks, Angel.

GORGEOUS pictures and WONDERFUL quotes! All so true and so valuable.

My own father abandoned us when I was a baby, so you can imagine how grateful I am for a precious husband of 32 years and the sweet dad he has been to our four kids.

    Happy Father’s Day, dear Angel!

There are two Father’s days I will never forget.

The first was in 2000. My middle daughter, Elizabeth, had just been diagnosed to be luekemia free and we had a grand ole time. Friends came from Ohio to celebrate, we had a big ole water fight, a BBQ and we adults played as childern along side our own, just to show them how much we loved them.

    And then today.

My first and last went outta their way today to acknowledge the lasting impressions a single dad had made in their lives. We laffed about the funny things, we cried that Elizabeth was not here anymore to celebrate with us, they giggled about all the spankings they got because it taught them lessons about right and wrong and they both thanked me for being a man that always told them, “I will always be your Dad, but one day you will realize you have grown up and now your Dad can be your friend also”.

Fatherhood has been truely bittersweet but I would not trade it for anything, cuz I have great friends.
