Vets: This OneS for YoU

In 1918, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day in the eleventh month, the world rejoiced and celebrated. After four years of horrific war, an armistice was signed.
The “war to end all wars” was officially over.
Attention U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
This is the day we salute y’all.
Did You Know sweet friends……….that…
If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
The term “the whole 9 yards” came from W.W.II fighter pilots in the South Pacific. When arming their airplanes on the ground, the .50 caliber machine gun ammo belts measured exactly 27 feet, before being loaded into the fuselage. If the pilots fired all their ammo at a target, it got “the whole 9 yards.”
Of the 25 million living veterans, most (75 percent) served during a war or an official period of hostility.
The name Jeep came from the abbreviation used in the army for the “General Purpose” vehicle, G.P.

As a group of soldiers stood in formation at an Army Base, the Drill Sergeant said, “All right! All you idiots fall out.”
As the rest of the squad wandered away, one soldier remained at attention.
The Drill Instructor walked over until he was eye-to-eye with him, and then raised a single eyebrow. The soldier smiled and said, “Sure was a lot of ‘em, huh, sir?”

Only in America do we have a General in charge of the post office and a Secretary in charge of defense.
Oh, and one word of advice to mah Vet buddies:
If the enemy is within range, so are you. lol ![]()
Happy Veterans Day!

My grandmother used to speak of how moving it was on the job–she worked at the VA–when everyone paused on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Veterans Day was not a holiday, and for good reason. That commemoration meant a lot to her because one of her brothers served in WWI. He came home permanently disabled as a result of being gassed in the trenches.
Yesterday, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, everyone was tending to business as usual. At times like those, I think that we’ve lost something important–true appreciation of those who served and serve even now to keep us safe.

What’s that ‘new direction’?…
The world celebrates U.S. election results along with the Democrats. What the Democrats haven’t realized yet is along with their win comes responsibility. The turmoil in the world is not going to go away just because they won a majority…

To The Veterans and Enlisted……
This is one patriot who never strays from the realization that the only reason there was a yesterday, there is a today and a presumed, hopeful tomorrow in America is YOU!…
