Israeli Shwarma

Ever try Israeli Shwarma Chicken?


Quickie recipe:
Get inna kitchen and try it~!food-smiley
U’ll like it…………..alot.


Toss some Hummus and pickles on the side…and mmmmmmmmmm..Heaven on Earth~!


Roll up yer sleeves…………Grab a couple of lbs. of dark chicken cutlets, and cut them into smaller pieces.

Ok..You got the tough part over with.ladyui

Now for the marinade ….

You shall need:

-1/2 cup olive oil
-1/2 tsp turmeric (that cool yellow stuff)food-cookani-uddy
-Toss in about ¼ tsp cumin if ya like spicey….woooooooo.
1/2 tsp onion powder
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
-1/4 tsp ginger

-a splash of salt (always optional)

Now all ya gotta do is:
Mix the oil with spices.

You can put the mishmash and the cutlets in a ziploc if you like…
Marinate for 1 hour in the fridge if ya wanna the flavah to ‘pop’.

You can bake them at 425 for 15-20 minutes,

or if you prefer…toss them onna grill for about 10 minutes ..and Wala!

Add some fries………ahhhhhhh.


Toss it all into a pita if you please …grab your favorite wine……….



Dig in and forget your woes.

They will be there waitin for you tomorrow.

    Ginger and turmeric? I’ll add it to my chicken marinade this evening along with a small fresh squeezed lime for a bit of tenderizing affect.

    I confess to having to use chicken breasts cut into chunks since that’s all I have in the freezer. Next trip to Costco I’ll stock up on the boneless thighs which I really think are pretty good.

    The picture of those fries is making my mouth water…
