Motown Lives baby …. in my collection of records… CDs … on my PC drive and in several thousand backed up MP3s in my jump drive.

It’s refreshing to see a man take the responsibility for the child he helped create.

“Ain’t No Woman like the one i Got” 1973 The Four Tops

(Ain’t no woman like the one I’ve got.)
(Ain’t no woman like the one I’ve got.)
(Ain’t no woman like the one I’ve got.)

Every day the sun comes up around her.
She can make the birds sing harmony.
Every drop of rain is glad it found her.
Heaven must have made her just for me.
When she smiles so warm and tender,
A sight for sore eyes to see.

Oooh, (ain’t no woman like the one I’ve got.)
Oh, no, they don’t come better.
(To make her happy doesn’t take a lot.)
She don’t ask for things, no diamond rings.
(So together, like a hand in glove.)
    Like pages in a letter.
(Ain’t no woman like the one I love.)

She can fill me up when it’s down I’m goin’ (I’m goin’).
Put a little music in my day.
Wouldn’t be surprised if my love keeps growin’ (it keeps growin’).
Bigger every minute that she stays away.
I would kiss the ground she walks on,
‘Cause it’s my word, my word she’ll obey, now.
Woo-ooh. (Ain’t no woman like the one I’ve got.)
Well, I kiss the ground she walks on.
(To make her happy doesn’t take a lot.)
She’s a real good friend right to the end.
(So together like a hand in glove.)
A lonely man when she’s gone.
(People, ain’t no woman like the one I love.)

Oooh. What a good, good thing I’ve got.
She means to me a lot.

(Ain’t no woman like the I’ve got.)
No, no, they don’t come better.

I’m a lonely man when my baby’s gone.

  14. Christopher-Conservative Perspective says:

    @ Carol,,,,

Hey Christian sister just a reminder:

You do not have to be here in Motown (Motor City, Hockey Town, Detroit) physically to forever enjoy the Motown sound as Angel has been so kind to all of us in proving just that!

The heart of the sound may have started beating here, but the soul of the sound beats everywhere for all to sing along with and most definitely DANCE too!

  15. Robert Garding says:

Another great post my friend. And a great subject. My last Father Daughter dance was with my step daughter about 15 years ago in Arizona. My how time flies. It doesn’t seem like that long ago, but, thinking back…..hmmmmm

  16. Leticia says:

  18. Woodsterman says:

    Whoooo I’m tired … I’m glad I had a son.

Angel, talk to your site. It never seems to remember me any more. I’m a member of Gravatar.

  19. Bunni says:

Have a beautiful fun weekend and dance your cares away, Angel.

  20. Carol-Christian Soldier says:

    @Christopher-
I know- in fact- I have been a CA resident for more years than a MI resident-HOWEVER -I still watch the RED WINGS on satellite TV -every game — and—my son-born in CA – is a Red Wings fan—he has to be–to live in peace with me : – )

Your comment brought a smile- thank you….

  21. Always On Watch says:

    Wonderful!

Clearly, this is an excellent father-daughter relationship.

  22. Z says:

LOVED that video…….and my arm went up so fast to “Do you miss Motown” that the wind almost blew me over!
“Sugar Pie honey bunch…..you know that I love you……Can’t help myself..”
I once saw the Temps and the 4 Tops LIVE and they did each other’s music…and Smokey Robinson joined them for 3 songs at the end; I thought I’d died and gone to heaven, until the next day when I left my chiropractor’s exam room and entered the waiting room to leave and there was Smokey Robinson SITTING THERE WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND. I went over and said “You won’t BELIEVE this but I was at the concert last night!” (the concert hall was a small theater in Beverly Hills, not like the HOlywood Bowl or something!)
He was as stunned to hear that as I was to meet him and IS HE NICE and DOES HE HAVE GORGEOUS GREEN EYES!! :-)

  23. Kid says:

Never had a passion for dancing, but I do love Motown.

  24. MK says:
