Honor, CouragE, Commitment..and a BabY

The story of a group of Marines’ quest to save a sick baby in war-torn Iraq gives some hope to humanity this holiday season.

Marines Save Iraqi Baby to Honor Fallen Soldier

At the center of the story is Navy medic Chris Walsh and the 1st Battalion 25th Marines. The Marines were patrolling the streets of Fallujah in June when they faced an enemy attack…“An IED exploded immediately adjacent to Chris’ vehicle, so they all piled out to chase the trigger man,” said Capt. Sean Donovan.

..”And as they did so, a woman came from one of the houses calling to them that the baby was sick. So they stopped, and Chris came up and looked at the baby..
Baby Mariam was just 2 months old and suffering from a rare intestinal abnormality..

A routine military mission suddenly became a lifesaving mission for Walsh and those around him.

For the next three months, Walsh and the team made house calls under the cloak of darkness into the dangerous city to help the baby.

On Sept. 4, tragedy struck when one of their Humvees was hit once again by an IED.

This time three men in the unit were killed — Lance Cpl. Eric Valdepenas; Cpl. Jared Shoemaker; and Walsh, baby Mariam’s guardian angel.

Eventually the Marines won their fight, and baby Mariam was granted permission to leave Iraq.

Dr. Rafael Pieretti from Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital performed the surgery, which took place in October.

“She’s doing well,” Pieretti said. “She’s gained weight. She’s socializing more. She has a different life.”

She has a different life.
A Marine gave up his life so that she can.

We’ve had a gutload of the Mainstream Mafia Media spewing their anti military propaganda and then fire hosing it out to the masses, which needless to say..is taken as gospel truth.

This is what our troops confront.
Suicide and roadside bombers whose minds have been drowned in propaganda, doomed to permanent adolescence.
A maladaptive group of sadistic and perverse minds, feeding on nothing but hate.

These vicious haters, the ones we are told to “cut and run” from are the ones who took the precious lives of the three whose Humvees were hit once again by an IED.

But, despite the PC, “Political Cowardice” machine, our troops are nothing like “them.”
Granted, at times our Marines are emotionally-charged and highly reactive, as they should be.

We’ve all heard the indignant and vile howling that came from the AP and gang of subversives known as the MSM when there were unsubstantiated allegations made against our soldiers.

Perhaps the erupting Moonbats should take a moment out of their day and honor Navy medic Chris Walsh, baby Mariam’s guardian angel.

Say to the average Lefty or Lib:
“Be proud of what you stand for”. They may tilt their head and think to themselves…Heck, what do I stand for?

Values and traits that should have been instilled by parents and in the educational process….are oftentimes left to the Marines to inculcate.

-self reliance. soldier3ani.gif
-hard work

We all know what Navy medic Chris Walsh stood for my sweet friends.

What do you stand for?

In Loving Memory:
Lance Cpl. Eric Valdepenas; Cpl. Jared Shoemaker; Navy medic Chris Walsh from the 1st Battalion 25th Marines

Great post, thanks. Don’t know if you’ve seen these two pretty shocking videos from Iraq yet or not (kid chasing bottle of water, car getting crushed), but both star the US Military and put it in a very negative light. You have to wonder what these soldiers were thinking when videotaping this stuff…

It’s frightening to see the way such good and caring people are portrayed by the MSM, AP in particular. Knowing what you know about this story, the AP would report ‘three killed in IED attack’, and that’s about it.

It’s terrible that good people are dying over there, but a point of greatest pride that they are willing to fight for our country, our friends, and our world.

This is a good human interest story. I watch CNN & Fox and so I see some of them. I do not think I have seen any in my local paper.

Good news the MSM would never be willing to print. People might think that our soldiers are human, loving and compassionate, and they wouldn’t want that, would they?

[...] Ms. Zito has also pointed out, “This year, states such as Nevada on the Democrat side and West Virginia on the Republican side will select convention delegates very early,” and that “The campaigns that build successful organizations, with the right people in the field who understand these new in-play primary states, will win their delegates — which could give them a leg up on the nomination.” Most definitely putting together a quality campaign team for both parties will speak volumes to all donors and activist about just how serious both parties are regarding not only running, but optimally winning in 2008.
