World Trade Center…the First SteP
A topic near and dear to my heart.
NEW YORK - Two 25-ton steel columns — one bearing signatures of American steelworkers who helped make it — rose at ground zero Tuesday, a milestone in prolonged efforts to build the skyscraper that will replace the twin towers of the World Trade Center.
WTC tower steel rises at ground zeroAs construction workers, politicians and architects applauded, a massive crane lifted the first 31-foot-high column, which was painted with an American flag and the words “Freedom Tower,” and set it over steel bars on the southern edge of the tower’s base.
“Today the steel rises, the Freedom Tower rises from the ashes of Sept. 11, and the people of New York and the people of America can be proud,” Gov. George Pataki said.
The 1,776-foot tower, set to open in 2011, is to be the tallest of the five skyscrapers planned to replace the trade center.
And so it was.. those indelibly imprinted images of burning silhouetted matchstick figures falling or jumping from the Twin Towers on a crisp September morning in 2001.
And despite the sheer horror we all endured, we now witness this staggering silence about our very enemy, that seems to have comatized America.
We hear Libs to the right and left of us regularly finding fault with democratic Western societies and even vie with one another to provide convincing rationalizations for the terrortist murderers of 9/11. (when theyr’e not actually accusing our very own government for perpetrating it, that is..)
That’s right..It was arrogant American global power that deserved payback, right?
And of course the heinous, pathological Muzlims who deliberately killed our precious civilians (as they have routinely done in Israel for years) are legitimate combatants and “freedom fighters” with laudable and credible grievances, right?
For those of us here in New York city, the World Trade Center served as our compass points of the metropolis. And with all the public fanfare over the design, many have grown weary of gazing at the gaping hole.
Who should build it, what should the design be, when should it begin…It managed to turn into an ugly slugfest, with families of victims pitted against those who wanted to see our Twin Towers back exactly as they were..(and still do)..as quickly as humanly possible.
But truth be told, the public en masse has forgotten 9/11 and the lessons that should have been learned seem to dissolve with the latest Hollywood scandal.
But, no matter that the road to rebuild the Towers has been bumpy and fraught with inexplicable difficulty. It has begun..it has begun.
Sweet friends…….
When you look to the heavens and offer a prayer for this new year, pray that this country survives itself, nevermind the blood thirtsy Ji-hadists.

It’s good to know that there’s a tower going back up. That’s the way to stick to the terrorists.
I was in Jerusalem in 2001, and went to a streetcorner where there had been two suicide bombing the day before (the second bomber deliberately targeted the rescuers who responded to the first bomb’s hit). Aside from the candles and flowers, it was hard to tell what had happened… The debris was already cleaned up, one shop already had new windows, the blood was cleaned away, another coffee shop was already re-opened… A far cry from the deliberate retention of ruins and destruction in Gaza City or Ramallah.
We build, and we rebuild, and we will not let the jihadis hold us down. That is the route to victory.

Until the construction is actually finished, I won’t hold my breath. Too many idiots seeking attention and stroking. Just build the towers and shut up!

Over five years have passed. It’s time to rebuild!

The news will cover any story–ANY–except the one which really matters! Do most Americans think that 9/11 was a fluke, a one-time event? It won’t be as long as we don’t take this enemy on both ideologically and militarily. Meanwhile, more Muslim immigrants and students on Saudi visas pour into our nation. ARRRRGGGGHHHH!

Everytime I watch reruns of 9/11 it really gets me- the total selfless sacrifices many people made to try to help during those hours just amazes me- there are some REAL heros that acted selflessly that day- REAL heros as compared to the worthless scum terrorists who murder innocent civilians and then run and hide behind women and children in Iraq- you know, the terrorists that the democrats like to praise and call ‘freedom fighters’ and ‘misunderstood’.
I had htought that after 9/11 this country was going to unify- but apparently the democrats hate the U.S and the GOP so much that they can’t even admit that those we are going after are terrorists who murdered 3,000+ on that terrible day.
