Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.
Norman Vincent Peale
Christmas is a time when you get homesick - even when you’re home.
Carol Nelson

He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.

Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen. ![]()

Then there’s Hanukkah…or as some affectionately refer to it the holiday of clogged arteries…lol

Commemorating the miracle of the oil burning for eight days. What better way than with food? Heh. ![]()
Latkes , deep fried potato pancakes..the more oil the better.

Italians indulge in oil-laden artichokes.
Israelis eat dozens of “sufganiyot”, otherwise known as jelly donuts..you guess it deep fried in oil!

and of course Hanukkah chocolate coins.

Most Texans think Hanukkah is some sort of duck call. lol
Richard Lewis
And for those who haven’t heard this one yet…….lol ![]()
Iranian president Mah-mud Ahm-adine-jad calls President Bush and tells him, “George, I had a wonderful dream last night. I could see America, the whole beautiful country, and on each house I saw a banner.”
“What did it say on the banners?” Bush asks. Mah-mud replies, “UNITED STATES OF IR-AN.”
Bush says, “You know, Mah-mud, I am really happy you called, because believe it or not, last night I had a similar dream. I could see all of Teh-ran, and it was more beautiful than ever, and on each house flew an enormous banner.”
“What did it say on the banners?” Mahmud asks.
Bush replies, “I don’t know. I can’t read Hebrew.” Heh.
Sooooooo…What is your favorite holiday food?
Miracles abound during the Festival of Lights sweet friends.

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES.
First paragraph:
This time of year, newspapers carry stories about Christmas memories. I got to thinking, “What is my strongest Christmas memory?” Although I can search the archives of my memories and remember bits and pieces of many other Christmases in my life, my strongest Christmas memory has to be that of the Christmas Eve when my husband’s eye patch came off.
A story with a happy ending!

I decided to fly to Philly to taunt all the sad Eagles’ fans who will be mourning after the Cowboys fillet them Christmas Day ;). Of course, I doubt the Eagles will lose as bad or badly as Nifong will, who hopefully will face more than unemployment and disbarment for his increasingly apparent gross misconduct. It’s almost as sad as Bush siding with illegals who were caught stealing identities of Americans whose credit is often likely ruined as a result and commenting that, to paraphrase, it is sad. Sad that is that these poor illegals were driven to such desperation. Yuk. On that note, I’m snagging another eggnog! :p

I forgot to tell you what my favorite Holiday food is: “Perogi”. It’s of Polish/Hugarian and lets just say “European” origin. It’s a pastry shaped like half a pie, and filled with whatever you want it filled with, but it’s not fried, it’s boiled. If it’s filled with mashed potatoes and dry cottage cheese and served with butter and onions, it’s a main course. If it’s filled with fruit and sprinkled with powdered sugar, it’s a dessert. Personally, I prefer the potatoes and dry cottage cheese, but the butter makes it just as fattening as a dessert.
Blessings, Angel. Merry Christmas. All this fuss and it will be over too soon.
