Hostess is moving forward with the sale of Devil Dogs, Yankee Doodles and Yodels to the maker of Little Debbie cakes.

The bankrupt company says it picked McKee Foods as the buyer for the Drake’s cakes after nobody stepped forward with a qualifying bid to top its $27.5 million offer.

Hostess to sell Drake’s cake line to McKee Foods, owner of Little Debbie

Sweet Friends..

Wanna make yer very owns? cake2

Watch the vid..luv it..ha.

For 10 weeks, Mark Haub, a professor of human nutrition at Kansas State University, ate one of these sugary cakelets every three hours, instead of meals.
To add variety in his steady stream of Hostess and Little Debbie snacks, Haub munched on Doritos chips, sugary cereals and Oreos, too.
Twinkie diet helps nutrition professor lose 27 pounds
His premise: That in weight loss, pure calorie counting is what matters most — not the nutritional value of the food.

The premise held up: On his “convenience store diet,” he shed 27 pounds in two months.
For a class project, Haub limited himself to less than 1,800 calories a day. A man of Haub’s pre-dieting size usually consumes about 2,600 calories daily. So he followed a basic principle of weight loss: He consumed significantly fewer calories than he burned.

If ya truly wanna be healthy ..follow these here tips:

Avoid Refined Carbohydrates.

Yea. Good luck with that. heh.chocolate

Drink lotsa water.

Oops, I meant ..water.

Limit Sugar. (I know I know!) choclate

It’s addictive, but yup it has been linked to illness, particularly diabetes, and obesity. P.S. : When readin those trusty ingredients : anything ending in “ose” is usually a sugar too.

Fructose may sound alot like fruit..but ahem…it’s sugar.

Stay away from or at least try to limit Soft Drinks aka soda.

Steer clear of unhealthy “Low Fat” Foods and eat more Saturated Fats.

Fast food is called that for a reason folks.
so…If you can……….
Eat Sloooooooooow food, the kind that’s been lovingly or at least carefully prepared by people who actually care what goes into it.

Dinner on me~! when Y’all are in town.

Gimme a yodel when ya get here..heh.

Aw maaaan, I saw the headline and thought you were dedicating something to the Marine Corps!

Take-out food describes me perfectly — fast, easy and cheap.

I use Twinkies to make a quick strawberry shortcake. YUM!

Devil Dogs? They’re called Suzy Q’s on the west coast.

Not a fan of sweets for the most part. Ice cream yes, but the rest I can pass on. I see you’re a big fan.

I’ll have my award post up tomorrow honey. I didn’t forget, but I pre-post so much of my stuff that I have to fit things in where I can.

Have a terrific day. Super big hugs my friend. :)

  5. Findalis says:

I love Devil Dogs, but they don’t love me. Eat too many and your belly grows.

I can’t remember the years it has been since I ate a Twinkie, or a HoHo, or any of those sweets. Except for cheese cake, I can resist most desserts. It’s bread that’s my nemesis.

  7. joe says:

Little Debbie? Man, that sucks! They make the worst pastry out there! No way will any Drakes products ever be the same with them making em.

  8. Debbie says:

Angel, you are killing me with all this food. I could eat every bit of it. I’m lucky, I don’t have to worry about weight much, I stay the same size most of the time.

  9. The Conservative Lady says:

I gained 10 lbs just looking at the photos you posted.
Thanks for stopping by TCL. This summer has been extra busy for us (still cleaning up from Sandy), so blogging has been slow for me. Hope you’re doing well, too.

Lots of luck with one! Have a great weekend.
