God’s Precious little ones

A twin leans over and kisses the cheek of her sister in a heart-warming picture that would not be out of place in any family home.

Yet these siblings are a not even born and the astonishing images have been captured on a new ‘four-dimensional’ ultrasound scan of the womb.

A crowded womb

The scans are a highly developed form of traditional ultrasound where very high frequency sound waves are used to produce images of what is inside the body.

London-based obstetrician Professor Stuart Campbell..’It was fascinating to see the babies in more detail than ever before. I was amazed at the detail in the faces – smiles, blinking – and the interaction between multiple foetuses.’

Not exactly just a “mass of cells” are they?

“God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number. Fill the earth and subdue it.”
(Genesis 1:28)

What is that miraculous breath of spirit that seeks sanctuary in her mother’s womb.
Two bodies growing together as one.

In spite of all the anticipation before conception and during pregnancy, despite weeks of waiting to feel that first “kick” within and fantasizing about the gender of your baby, despite months of having weird or wonderful dreams, troubling thoughts, and being terrified about what kind of parent you will be, the first time you hold your baby in your arms and call yourself mommy or daddy, an awareness engulfs you that your life will never quite be the same ever again.

It hits you right in the heart.
Another human being is now dependent upon you for its very survival.

And yet…we have this.

Unfortunately, the problem of new mothers abandoning their babies, typically in unsafe places where they may not be found, is not uncommon.

Although the exact numbers are not known, a survey of the HHS Administration for Children and Families found that 65 babies were abandoned in public places in 1991 and 105 in 1998.

They also found that 8 of those infants were found dead in 1991, which increased to 33 in 1998.
Safe Haven Laws for Abandoned Babies

In response to these abandonment cases and a group of 13 abandoned babies in Houston in 1999, Texas lawmakers adopted a safe haven law so that mothers could leave a baby in a safe place without having to worry that they would be prosecuted.

Unfortunately, so far, they don’t seem to be having much of an impact on babies being abandoned in unsafe places.

For those of us who took a look at that wrinkled, squashed and scrunched-up little thing we gave birth to…….we simply can not imagine hurting let alone abandoning our beautiful babies to the fates.

And as they grow..remembering the lines that made us tear everytime we heard them…
“Read me a story daddy…”

Ah. Being a mommy or daddy.
Being a son or daughter.
What say y’all sweet friends?

“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”

“Parents who are afraid to put their foot down usually have children who step on their toes”

“A Daughter is a Little Girl who grows up to be a Friend”

“Your folks are like God because you want to know they’re out there and you want them to approve of your life, still you only call them when you’re in a crisis and need something.”
(Michellee Chuck Palahniuk)

Why would any mother abandoned her baby in an unsafe place where it might not be found in time?
    This question baffles me.
If you know you cannot take care of the child if, why wouldn’t you leave it at a hospital where it would be safe and you would not be prosecuted?
    It’s just incomprehensible.

    I cannot imagine!

How evil would one have to be? How selfish? This is even crueler than an abortion, if that’s possible!

Even the neonate knows who mommy and daddy are… It is incomprehensible that someone could just throw that away like a piece of garbage!

Oh Angel what a wonderful post! God bless our wee ones and those still unborn. How anyone could say that abortion is okay because a fetus or embyo is not alive is sick! Something dead cannot grow; zygote=embyo=fetus=live birth of a baby. Yeah, it is not alive so kill them, well how does it all of a sudden become alive at birth then? How convenient. Simply one plants a seed and if the seed is corrupt or dead it does not grow, but when it is un-corrupt it grows and sprouts into a beautiful, flower, vegetable, tree, OR HUMAN BEING!

Thanks for this post hun! :)

To those people to whom parenthood seems only a burden: You were made to procreate.

You were made to raise these wonderful beings, these innocent, these children.

To be physically able to procreate and deny the biological imperative is to be in deepest denial, broken, half a person.

I understand the Today Show broadcast which sparked this, the “technology segment”, turned into a love-fest when the anchors realized it WAS people they were looking at- perfect, tiny people, with personalities and desires and feelings… not a lump of cells to be sucked out into a sink.

In every other case, liberals seem to love those things that can’t vote against them. The only choice about “pro-choice” is the choice to kill.

I love those in the womb pictures. They prove that live does exist before birth. Actually life exists from the moment of conception. That’s what I believe

The closest one can come to being like GOD is to participate in the act of creation..one can exceed the reach of GOD by raising their child to be a source of goodness and kindness and a symbol to others….The question to us all is…..what level have we attained and what is holding us back from even greater heights….Thank you so much Angel for shaking the tree, now lets see what we do with the fruit…

just found your blog, and LOVE IT..

I saw those amazing pictures of the twins and third child on the news and was annoyed because they never once said how old the children were when the photos/ultrasounds were taken in utero. Not so easy to abort them when the news is showing these ‘cells’ are interacting.

I certainly hope (and would expect) National Geographic to give up the goods, but Good Morning America? I doubt it.

    Great blog here!!!!

We have raised people with no conscience, no morality, and no principles save for “if it feels good do it.” The slaughter of innocent babies is but one result.

Sad for us, disastrous for civilization. GOD help us.

  17. Lawman says:

I’ve never agreed with the idea of abortion as a form of birth control.

If you find yourself pregnant with a baby you are unwilling/unable to care for, the Safe Haven laws allow you to drop the newborn munchkin at the nearest Emergency Room with no questions asked. You don’t even have to talk to the staff if you don’t want to.

  18. Joann says:

While abandoning your baby in an unsafe place is wrong, it is just as heartbreaking when a woman chooses to have an abortion. If you are a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, rather than abandon your baby or have an abortion, why not give your baby up for adoption? There are plenty of couples out there who would love to raise your baby because they cannot have any children of their own. Unfortunately, because of abortion and infant abandonment, there are never enough babies for these couples to adopt. Wake up, America!
