I don’t understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine’s Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon. lol
Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart. 
We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love. 
If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

Happy Valentine’s Day to you ,too, Angel!
Agreed, Cupid is a strange representative of Valentine’s day, especially when Valentine himself makes a better representative for his Day - though the history is a bit murky, as 3 Valentines are mentioned in early Catholic histories.
In these modern times, of course, the Day is a wholly owned subsidiery of Hallmark, in cooperation with Hershey’s , FTD, and The DeBeer’s Diamond Consortium.
I don’t understand it, but if it makes my Bride happy, I’ll do it.
When she’s happy ,I’m happy… guess I’ve learned something in 17+ years of marriage !

History was not kind to the Moran gang on Valentine’s Day, but then again they did choose to mess with Al Capone..hence the massacre.
However, we can hope to make all our dealings a bit more civil and reach out to each other with hugs and smiles…don’t forget the chocolate!!!

That’s the modern convention. In Greek mythology, Cupid’s neither short, chubby, nor in diapers. Truth be told, I think you’d fall for him.
