In just six minutes, 18-year-old Sulejman Talovic left a tragic path of destruction that forever changed the lives of dozens of people.
“His intent was to shoot as many people as he possibly could,” said Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank.Police released details Tuesday on Talovic’s shooting rampage that left five people dead before off-duty Ogden police officer Ken Hammond and four Salt Lake City police officers killed him in “a shootout,” Burbank said.
Four other shooting victims are hospitalized.Witnesses told the Deseret Morning News that Talovic appeared to be “hunting” people. Some described a calm expression on his face as he aimed his shotgun and fired.
Munns’ sister-in-law,.. said the man heard Talovic say, “Die, mother-(expletive)!” as Munns was shot twice.
Investigators were trying to learn more about the man responsible for causing the tragedy.

Neither his mother nor his sisters would answer the door or respond to phone calls Tuesday, although a person inside would pick up the phone and then quickly hang up.…Talovic’s aunt, visited the home Tuesday afternoon. She told the Deseret Morning News that Talovic had been “a good boy.” She said the family are Mu–slims from Bosnia who had lived in the vicinity of Sarajevo.
Oh, so this Muzlim loner had “only four juvenile offenses?”
Around these parts sugar, that’s not what’s known as a “good boy” but a repeat offender.

Wow. I cannot believe this. I was at Trolley Square that day, and my sister was in one of the shops at the time of the shooting, so believe me when I say I have been waiting for an explanation to the reason or motive as to why the shooter would do this. I wonder about it each day I return to Trolley. But to blame this on being Muslim has no basis and is an insult to those who died. As has been reported by local police/FBI/media… The shooters mom was muslim, his dad was not. They left Bosnia when he was much younger, Bosnia is a European country (in case you never look at a map), which is diverse in regards to race and religion. They were not practicing Muslims, and didn’t attend any mosque. He could just as well have been Australian or Thai or Russian, Shinto, Atheist or Christian.
You have really opened my eyes to how narrow minded people can be, and how you will find the slightest possible detail to exploit. It really makes me wonder about any list or index of “terrorist acts”. I suppose the next time some kid kills himself with a firecracker, and he happens to have a muslim cousin, he can be called a suicide bomber?
I understand the need to want to find blame for an incident like this. Its very easy and common to jump up and down screaming “He was a Muslim!” He played violent video games!” “The devil made him do it!” “He came from bad genes!” We all look for a simple answer because the truth is that its a problem with all religions, its a problem with all humanity. We have always found reasons to kill, and reasons to hate, and sites like this just push the problem along.

Are you guys kidding me? I was on vacation, walking in Trolley square when it happened. I was shot at, and I survived. Just because this kid came from Bosnia or had a muslim mom doesnt mean he’s automatically a terrorist. I mean seriously, have you ever had moments where you just want to jump off a building? or end it? But we dont follow through. This kid was just a troubled teen, who was looking to end it, and unfortunately, bring others down with him. I mean, did he honestly think he was going to walk out of there alive? No, he knew he was committing suicide. He survived the Bosnian war (why do you think he immigrated here), he watched deaths happen. Don’t you think that that left him a little troubled? They should have caught him earlier on with his four offenses, and sent him to get help. Now does any of this mean it has to do with him being muslim? NO!!!! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR BRAINS! it is because of you guys and your racial profiling that america gets a bad rap. He was just like one of us, someone who just wanted attention.
