Wear a Veil..Go to JaiL

Schools will be able to ban pupils from wearing full-face veils on security, safety or learning grounds under new uniforms guidance issued by ministers.
Schools allowed to ban face veilsIt says efforts must be made to accommodate religious clothing, but stresses the importance of teachers and pupils being able to make eye contact.
Dr Tag Ha-rgey of the Mus–lim Education Centre welcomed the guidance.
“When you conceal the face, that actually not only dehumanises the person involved, but also creates a chasm, a gap, a bridge of non-understanding between communities and I think the sooner we can get rid of this veil, this face veiling, this face masking in Muslim societies across Britain, so much the better.”

Yes, kids, in the 21st Century our troops must still defend Ar-ab women against gang rape, A-rab men from beheadings and stonings that they are subjected to from retrograde, ahem..cough, cough.. “religious” laws that should have died a painful death with the Dark Ages.
But just you wait.
The Izlamist and leftist boot will continue to try stomping humanity’s face.
After all, leftists like their pals IzlamoNazis, have no problems with veils for women, denial of women’s driving rights, strict enforcement of religious laws by Mut–awa police, female genital mutiliation, clitorectomies, or death by stoning for adultery.
And when they get static from the CA-IR bears and all the other terrorists..the U.K. will most likely cave in.
Oooh. What’s that smell.
The distinguished scent of a seethefest in the planning.

So good luck to the EUrocrats who have created Eurabia.
When those industrial-strength animals come after y’all, you’d best recall their words:
On unbelievers is the curse of All-ah. - Su-ra 2:161
Slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. - 2:191
Your’e gunna need a heck of alot more than a veil to save yer head.

They must think we are stupid. They say their book preaches love, but look, you - me - and so many others have found right in their book - the Koran - all the hate and vile that proves Islam is NOT a “religion of peace.” Pfffffffft!

It’s good to see the UK push back a little. Dhimmitude seems to be the default position in Europe.

American Dream…
Geneive Abdo leaves little doubt that the American Dream for muslims would consist of re-creating the failed societies and economies of the islamic world as a separate culture within the United States of America, and with their own system of laws, free…

well put, religious freedom is a very sacred right. But my family staying alive or the city I live not being a smoldering wasteland trumps the repressive burka and day of the week and twice on Sunday
March 20th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
I think that multiculturalism when all embrace the fundamental human rights of others can have a positive effect on a society. It would be dangerous to be exclusive as a knee jerk reaction. As members of a free society that places a value upon individual rights and inputs, while we must buoy our awareness of the danger of extremism, the best cure for that is to remain ever vigilent of repression in any form against individuals. Democracy and liberty require responsible citizenry. I would applaud Mr. Blair’s statements. It is regrettable that such an honorable and decent human being has been run out of the executive position in England.
With regard to the veils in the school, as an educator I see some problems with it, but if it did not create a distraction to the learning process, or pose a security threat, I would not oppose it. While I am second to none in my opposition to the barbaric treatment of women in Islamic cultures, and am concerned about some of the more infamous practices now being reported in the US - genital mutilation as an instance - to ban this expression of religious belief in a public setting could be a slippery slope. At what point would wearing a Crucifix or a Star of David be seen as disruptive to the process or be seen as an establishment of religion. To view this as a form of parental repression is also a stretch. Many Christians and Jewish children are compelled by their parents to participate in their religious heritage, and this is a part of the rights of parents to guide the lives of their own minor children.
By protecting this fundamental right of individual expression of a religious belief we protect the rights of all relgious people to allow their free speech in a public sector. Let us be careful in what powers we grant the state with regard to reasonable expressions of faith in the public life.

Can you really make an intelligent comparison bt wearing a star of david or curcifex with a full face veil covering. There is an obvious value in education and building trust and honesty in relationships, to be able to look the other in the eye. (at least saudi arabia lets you see one eye). You express yourself beautifully & I would guess you are copying some “liberal text” and sharing it with us bloggers.

I just posted this story. You beat me too it.
What is it with them and the veil? (rhetorical)
If you don’t like the rules then too bad.
March 21st, 2007 at 2:50 am
Well, at least this time, intelligence prevailed. Perhaps there is a time and a place for face veils (like, at weddings, maybe), but school is not it.

I’m not holding my breath thinking that this will settle the issue. The Muzzies will be screaming, protesting, rioting over this stupidity. If the Brits hold firm on this, and on banning that same veil in public, then we may be seeing the turning of the corner. But we’ll have to wait and see.
March 21st, 2007 at 7:06 am
The Brits HAVE NEVER held firm on anything, let’s not hold our breath, as soon as one little Muzzie makes a threat, the law will evaporate in the foggy air.
March 21st, 2007 at 8:39 am
My heart screams hurray at this move, but my head said be cautious of what brings you joy.
What I fear is the secular government’s ability to ban “religious “items”- the burka notwithstanding. Will this empower the godless to ban the wearing of the Star of David or a cross? Instead the UK might try closing the radical Mosques and deporting the agitating criminal imams like crazy. Jihad can be construed as complicity to do violence.
March 21st, 2007 at 9:00 am
I think that the UK sees France on the left and Germany on the right, and they’re starting to WAKE UP!
Great post, Angel!
March 21st, 2007 at 9:22 am
Angel - love your blog and read it regularly. I completely agree that banning the burqa in public schools is a legitimate safety/security concern of the state. We have this idea that religious expression of any and every type is an untouchable sacred cow, but it just ain’t true. There are plenty of legal cases right here in the good ‘ol USA that say, for example, that police forces can require the cops to be clean shaven (regardless of whether religious preference calls for beards) and Native Americans can’t smoke peyote and then claim unemployment when they have a positive drug test. Polygamy is illegal, as is (in most places at least) the “inhumane” ritual slaughter of animals. So… this ain’t out of the blue. And considering the Islamofascist penchant for using their kids as weapons and their women as shields… it’s in everyone’s physical best interest to do away with the bee-keeper outfit.

Great post Angel! I think we all need to go post the quotes from the Koran on all the “Let’s just hold hands and sing Kum Baya” lefty sites:

Slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. - 2:191”

it simply amazes…
won’ t the jihad be upset with Britain?
uh oh…

US soldiers/military will do their job. They will protect Arab women from rapes and Arab men from beheadings whenever the opportunity arises. But after the immediate danger has passed these same women and men will burn US flags and denounce our country and military.
March 21st, 2007 at 11:13 am
Good morning, Angel.
Well, in spite of the fact that the UK never has stood up for anything, perhaps they are beginning to finally realize the danger they are in… ya think? I’m hoping that they will stick to their guns for a change. As an ultimate optimist I can’t help myself.
I feel compelled to reply to “A Voice of Reason,” because that person is not being reasonable. For instance: “to ban this expression of religious belief in a public setting could be a slippery slope. At what point would wearing a Crucifix or a Star of David be seen as disruptive to the process or be seen as an establishment of religion.” Religious symbols such as Crucifix’s or the Star of David have already been made taboo in many public schools in this country, so “religious freedom” in the public arena is a myth. It already no longer exists. It should be obvious to even the most dense person that covering one’s eyes makes it impossible for the teacher to effectively communicate with the student. Another thing: how would the teacher even know that the student was the original student? Anyone can hide behind a burka and a head covering. What’s to keep a terrorist from walking into the school pretending to be a student? I believe that’s probably the real reason for the new law.
March 21st, 2007 at 11:25 am
The security issues/implications of allowing individuals to walk into our childrens’ schools all covered up (including the face) are clear, no?
March 21st, 2007 at 1:50 pm
And all this time I thought veils were just a fashion statement. I do however remember as a kid when we went to church, women were expected to wear something on their heads. I say we let the veil community wear pretty flowered hats as a substitute. That will give the sweat shops another product to make and stop the allahwhining. BTW, men had to remove their hats out of repsect for, you know.
Hey, how come I’m expected to embrace everyone else’s diversity and no one is expected to respect American culture when they force there way in here? (rhetorical question)

Problem solved….there is an empty stall in the men’s room that can be used for……and i am sure there is one in the Women’s room….
I have a interesting idea….they can go to exclusive Muzzzie schools and wear clown masks or whatever floats their boats….Burka volleyball at 3pm followed by Kuran for kids and mohamed cartoons at 5pm….

I see other signs that Europe is waking up. Maybe we shouldn’t yet count the Europeans down and out?
March 25th, 2007 at 7:37 am
I agree with the points SmartLass and and Stanford Matthews posted. Religious freedom has always been an agreement by most, not an untouchable absolute. Take for instance the laws against cursing in public, which were the bane of toilet-mouths up until 1930 or so. How about public prayers at football games? Those were ok until about 1980 or so. Religion does have a place in public life; what most people miss is that Islam — as it has been historically understood by Muslims — is not much of a religion at all, but more an endorsement of xenophobia and a license for contract killing. That its more obvious signs should be forbidden in public is something that’s been practiced probably since the dawn of democracy! Can you imagine Sherlock Holmes’ London allowing mass numbers of veiled women to run about? How about Churchill’s? How about Jackson’s America?
