WASHINGTON - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi yesterday met with Syrian dictator and terror sponsor Bashar Assad - drawing an immediate slap from the White House for rewarding his “bad behavior.”
And, to make matters worse, she botched a peace message she carried from Israel.

We all know this was a malicious attempt by Dhimmi Pelosi to assume for herself powers given solely to the President of the United States by the Constitution of the United States.
Perhaps she needs to spend some time in a cell refreshing herself with the The Constitution of the United States of America…which dictates that the President alone has the authority to conduct diplomacy on behalf of America.
What part of the PRESIDENT ALONE did Peloopsi not catch?
The Logan Act is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments

Olmert, the statement clarified, told Pelosi that Syria’s sincerity about a genuine peace with Israel would be judged by its willingness to “cease its support of terror, cease its sponsoring of the Ham-as and Isla–mic Jih–ad organizations, refrain from providing weapons to Hiz–bullah and bringing about the destabilizing of Leb-anon, cease its support of terror in Iraq, and relinquish the strategic ties it is building with the extremist regime in Iran.”
Let’s be honest friends, when Dhimmi Jimmy (Carter) endorses your choices you know that you are on the wrong side of history!

In fairness, during Reagan’s Presidency a similar group met with Syria. Guess what, they made the same, or similar demands which won’t happen.
Syria needs to realize that good faith is needed when negotiating. They don’t have a good track record in that area.
Some choice tidbits I spotted, okay I just plugged!
Syrian officials said Damascus wants to help Washington achieve an “honorable withdrawal” from Iraq but in return the United States must press Israel to return the Golan Heights, which Israel captured in the 1967 Six Day War.
Ahh, you knew it was coming, a win-win for Syria. If you pull out of Iraq and make Israel give back our staging area for invasion, we’ll try to enter a dialogue. What a bunch of guys. Although it is GOOD to see that the Congress’ plan of withdrawl has the official sponsorship of Syria. Of course this drew a comment from Madam Speaker:
Pelosi said she and other members of her congressional delegation raised with Assad their concern about militants crossing from Syria into Iraq, as well the Israel Defense Forces soldiers kidnapped by Hezbollah and Palestinian militants.
Now, I don’t dislike Speaker Pelosi, I really don’t. I like to hope she will be an effective leader as her party won, that’s how democracy works gang, in case we forgot, but this “raising of concern” seems to be a bit timid. And for those that think for a moment Syria will be the guardian against terrorists crossing into Iraq (cough) and Israel (pardon me while I choke), I would like to have you go over some waterfront property in Death Valley that I want to unload.
I’m all for talking; I was for it when President Reagan tried to positively engage Syria, and would be for it now, but until these other nations are willing to be honest bargainers, and realize that a mere promise - that hasn’t been backed up by any change of behavior - is not the basis for constructive negotiations. Perhaps President Bush summed this one up the best by calling these talks, “counterproductive and encouragement for a “state sponsor of terror.”
I’m not from Missouri, but Syria, Iran, and all the other nations of this region are going to have to “Show Me” something before I’d be willing to have my dialogue be, have a nice day and try not to kill a few hundred Jews or US Servicemen.

The Misspeaker of the House makes me cringe. This dingbat is behaving disgracefully. I would love for the justice dept. to go after her for this, but I seriously doubt it. I mean, look at Sandy Burglar, another traitor walking around free to recommitt treason.
This proves that the left must not be allowed to run foreign policy for our country or we’ll be up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

Someday someone will be prosecuted for violating the constitution and the Logan act. It’s not going to happen while a Republican is in the White House and Democrats are in charge of Congress though.
We may have to wait until a Democrat is in the White House and Republicans are in charge of Congress to see it. If a Republican were to do what Nancy Pelosi or John Kerry or Jimmy Carter have each done, then we’d see a prosecution of the Logan Act.
I’m not going to hold my breath waiting though.

Peloopsi is on a power trip. Furthermore, she’s embarrassing our nation. Why doesn’t she just stay over there in an Islamic nation if she’s so buddy-buddy with their leaders. She can wear a burqa and even get a clitorectomy.

I could not agree more with that, and that is the hypocritical state this country is in. Pelosi burns my rear with this garbage. Shes a ditz and has no clue what’s shes doing. I’ll give her an A+ on domestic moonbat agendas. Of course an F on morality and values, but that equates to an A+ over on the other side.
Shes clueless on foreign policy. Does not understand the enemy, their culture and the fact that shes a WOMAN. The Muzzies are not going to meet her even half way. Shes beneath them. Shes too stupid to even know shes being used as a puppet by them in our political system.

I have to say I view this more as an internal American problem than as a foreign policy problem. As far as foreign policy is concerned, Pelosi is no worse than Condi in her acts of appeasement. The issue here is that Condi is elected to that job while Pelosi isn’t–erosion of democracy, ironically the charge that the Dems never cease leveling against Bush.

Zionist Youngster… I disagree about the foreign policy thingy… it is a HUGE failure for us and is promptly being exponentially exploited, as any individual with even the most cursory knowledge of history would have fully anticipated. However, I agree with you about Condi’s cavings… She and Jorge helped shrink any semblance of gonads that Olmert thought he had when he confronted Hezbollah in Lebanon last summer. That screw-up had a message for the terrorists with long term ramifications, too. Just because most of us forget everything 12 hours later, don’t think the enemy does. True story.
I loved GUNZ’ reverse report card grading, too. Ain’t it so…
Syria and those aligned with them DO NOT WANT any peaceful solution here… Iran, their buddy and huge source of sustenance, has clearly stated this on numerous occasions, example being ‘driving Israel into the sea’. Pelosi is a wide eyed, vacuum cranium who truly embodies the loopy lib notion that everybody, deep down …is good and nice. These leaders are corrupt and evil. Nice is not on their agenda, nor will it be through persistent heartfelt appeals. She has obviously never encountered people like this before. Or, perhaps more likely, never realized it when she has. She is a painfully, dangerously limited scope individual in a shockingly powerful position. One we have made even more potent and disruptive by not reigning in her idiotic butt. She does well emulate the folks that put her in this slot, though. What a major bummer for the rest of us along for the ride.

My completely unqualified guess with no supporting facts suggests the reason Speaker Pelosi has not been formally and legally held to account for her violation of federal law is due to the following items.
With the exception of President Bush’s less than lofty approval rating and that his Attorney General’s career is circling the drain and Scooter tipped over in Federal Court, the balance of power is remarkably close to even under the circumstances.
It is not altogether impossible to set the wheels in motion for filing charges against Pelosi and only make it public at a more strategic time.
In addition to this, it is absolutely heart-warming to see Nancy Pelosi insult other members of her gender by making nice with a man who obviously has no respect for women and she did it for the noble reason of sleazy political theatrics. So much for draining the swamp of the culture of corruption.
