SalutE to Israel in NYC!
The Salute To Israel Parade, the single largest gathering in the entire world in support of Israel, celebrated the 59th Anniversary of the State of Israel today, May 6, 2007 on Fifth Avenue in my very own: New York City!

NEW YORK — Thousands of Israel supporters marched up Fifth Avenue on Sunday in the Salute to Israel Parade commemorating the 1948 founding of the Jewish state.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg led off the parade..
Parade organizers said there were more than 100,000 marchers. Hundreds of spectators wearing “I (heart) Israel” buttons and stickers lined the parade route between 56th and 79th streets.
The Parade route begins at 57th Street and Fifth Avenue and continues north on Fifth Avenue to 79th Street.

The Empire State Building will be displaying its beautiful blue and white illumiation in honor of Israel.
More than 100,000 marchers joined politicians and city leaders in the streets to march in solidarity for Israel.
Spectators were treated to 19 bands, including the New York City Police Band and the First Panamanian Drum & Bugle Corps, and the colorful pageantry of over 40 floats.
Street performers, jugglers, clowns, and acrobats lined the parade route.

Not only are American Flags flown high, but women are respected and admired for their accomplishments for & to the Jewish State. There was a lovely float in honor of the volunteers to the ALYN home for handicapped children, run entirely by young and senior women.
May GOD bless the Jewish state and grant it the coming years of SHALOM.

what a surprise…people that represent the ultimate in what is right about Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Godliness…congregate 250,000+ people together and not one act of violence..
Perhaps there is a lesson here..
that most do not want to learn….what a shame..

I would have expected some Mooselimb counter-protesters wearing faux suicide belts for this one.
Quite a contrast from the gay pride parades that Rudi joined. At least no one took off their clothes or wore drag (that we know of).
