HappY Jerusalem DaY!

Gather round guyz n dollz..
It’s story time.

Once upon a time, in a far away land, Jerusalem was the capital city of ancient Israel, home of the Jewish people since the time of King David.

There was no special day in honor of Jerusalem until the Israeli army took over the ancient, eastern part of the city on the third day of the Six-Day War in June 1967….the defensive war in which Israel was attacked…by surrounding A-rab nations.

Attacked by A-rabs.
Attacked.
Attacked.

Israel reclaimed the Old City of Jerusalem, which had been for 3,000 years the undivided and eternal capital of the Jewish people.

Reclaimed.
Reclaimed.
Reclaimed.

After the war, “a municipal unification” of the two sections of the city was instated, ending 19 years of separation between A-rab and Jewish suburbs of Jerusalem, which followed the War of Independence in 1948.

You do remember that war kids…where Israel defeated the overwhelming force of seven A-rab armies.

Seven.
Seven.
Seven.

Israel was declared a state: May 14, 1948.

For 2000 years, following the destruction of Jewish sovereignty in Judea by the Roman Empire, the Jewish people were scattered throughout the world.

That did not bode very well for them.
They were suffered by host nations, with no safe autonomy.

They were persecuted and hounded from country to country, suffering exile and undending persecution…culminating in the horrific atrocities of the Holocaust.

The vile U.N. , having no other recourse, finally recommended partition of Pale-stine into two states, one Jewish, one A-rab.

The Jews accepted this despite the fact that it forced Israel into a commitment to subsidize the Ar-ab state.

But, kids, guess who rejected it?

The vote passed and not a moment later…. A-rab resistance commenced as did British non-cooperation (by the way).

Alas…
Despite Ar-ab opposition and British collusion, the State of Israel was created and with it, the fulfillment of the historical dream of Jews and Christians alike.

And they lived happily …uh oh..sorry kids……”happily” and A-rabs don’t go together.

Needless to say the international community (of Jew haters) never approved the “reunification” of the city under Israeli sovereignty, and many countries have not recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish State to this day.

Care to venture a guess as to which ones?

Psalm 122
A song of ascents. Of David.

I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
Our feet are standing
in your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built like a city
that is closely compacted together.

That is where the tribes go up,
the tribes of the LORD,
to praise the name of the LORD
according to the statute given to Israel.

Let’s see.

Us …and ..ahem…”them”.

The official symbol of Israel:
A seven branched menorah (candelabra) surrounded by two olive branches with the word “Israel” below.

The olive branch symbolizes peace. The menorah, is a symbol of the freedom and self-determination of the Jewish people to express its spirituality and sovereign rights in its own land.

Flag of the Hezbullies:
The bottom text means “The Is–lamic Resistance in Lebanon”.

The upper text means “Then surely the party of All–ah are they that shall be triumphant”. (Qu–ran 5:56)
The green text is the name of the group…….. with the first letter of “All–ah” reaching up to grasp a Soviet AK-47.

Thank you for this excellent post, Angel.

I spent the summer after the 6 day war at a Jewish sleepaway camp, and there were several Israelis on staff, including a couple who had fought in the war (or more accurately, had helped to chew up and spit out most of the Arab world).

Listening to their stories and encountering their intense spirit was majorly inspiring. They were full of funny jokes about the Arab forces, as well (a sense of humor is one thing you can’t easily take away from a Jew, and I am speaking first hand, here) and it is not surprising that a small number of Israelis was capable of defeating an exponentially larger Arab strength.

As far as the so-called “Palestinians” are concerned, I think Golda Meir was waxing overly optimistic when she said there would be peace in the Middle East when the Arabs start loving their children more than they hate the Jews.
The Muzzies will never stop hating and never stop murdering, it is part of their religous culture. At my place, I often refer to terrorism and car-burning rioting as “applied Islam”, which I believe sums things up just fine.

That grim reality aside, Happy Jerusalem Day!

Jerusalem Day comes out on the 28th of Iyar, those 2 hebrew letters together spell “koach” which translates to “strength”. Jerusalem is the strength and gives strength to the Jewish state and in turn to the Jewish people. Only those with “strength of character” can survive and prosper in the city of gold. As one who shares a birthday with Jerusalem, my deep wishes to my favorite city is: SHALOM AL YISRAEL
Thanks to you Angel and your fantastic photos, I feel as if I am in the east.

  14. No Apology says:

I remember seeing a short documentary of children of Israel and Palestine, children - maybe 10 or 11 years old, some older - on both sides of the cultural divide who were determined to reach across the gulf of ideology, and see each other as friends. The “experiment” went on for awhile and it seemed to be a very positive thing for the young teenagers, who vowed to have respect for each other.

After a few years the photographer went back and interviewed them. Neither side could understand the other. There was unresolvable resentment on both sides, and the rapport was gone. One Palestinian girl said she would like to become a suicide bomber. Some said they would like to hurt the Jews.

I don’t know. The “Religion of Peace” has a way of destroying all around it, but it may just be the Arab’s nature to want to destroy anything not made in their mold. Even their own kind don’t want the Palestinians, never have.
