Considered by many to be little more than fashion accessories, sunglasses actually are essential in protecting your eyes year round from dangerous ultraviolet (UV) rays.

I’m with you, Angel. Go with the cheap shades (it’s the same UV protection!), and never spend more than 40 shekels (about 10 bucks, things cost more here).
My choice: yellow mirror lenses. I look like a bug, but at least I can see.

Some few years ago, the opthamologist told me he wanted to keep an eye (*heh*) on some cloudy areas that looked like incipient cataracts in both my eyes.
I started wearing wraparounds over my glasses every single time I went out, rain or shine, cloudy or bright. Since then, exams have been progressively better… in that one area, at least.
And yeh, I get the cheapest I can find–including a bagfull at a closeout for a buck apiece–cos I tend to sit on ‘em or drop ‘em or whatever. Bonus: the amber-colored pair I still have left makes great safety glasses for use with power tools. Especially nice, since I have my table saw set up on the deck, right now.
Protection from Sun AND small debris.

I’ve tried the cheapies and they seem to warp and distort the images, putting strain on my eyes. I invested in some good sunglasses several years ago (pretty good pair for about $80) and that problem went away. I won’t go back to the cheap ones. Ya just gotta learn to keep up with them!

Cheap ones, because they are just as good and you will probably lose or sit on at least one pair.
I like the big Jackie Kennedy style.

I’m with you Angel! I won’t pay more than $10 for a pair, especially since my kids find and destroy (aka play) with them no matter how well I think I’ve hidden them!
So what style look good on you?

Though, you know… Vitamin D is important and, from what I understand, it you get most of it through the eyes.
