UK Boycotts Israel…Hmmm…

Britain’s University and College Union (UCU), comprising of university academics, voted in favor of considering a boycott of Israeli academics and institutions at its conference in Bournemouth on Thursday evening.

UK lecturers support Israel boycott call

The resolution, passed by 158 votes in favor and 99 against, “notes that Israel’s 40-year occupation has seriously damaged the fabric of Pal-estinian society through annexation, illegal settlement, collective punishment and restriction of movement… deplores the denial of educational rights for Pale-stinians by invasions, closures, checkpoints, curfews, and shootings and arrests of teachers, lecturers and students.”

OK. I move to ban British professors from the U.S. due to their obvious anti semitism.

england-city-ca-small.jpg
How’s that for starters?

Aw, don’t fret y’all……I am quite certain that imminently we will hear these Whackademics initiating a boycott of Lebneze universities because of the shelling of “Pale-stinian” refugee camps right?

And no doubt a boycott of the following countries will follow.

Lebnon, Sy-ria ,Sa-udi Ara-bia, Cuba, Venuzuela, China …hmm..did I leave any out?

Oh yea and if .. Britain’s University and College Union Whackademics object to “annexation, illegal settlement, collective punishment and restriction of movement” why aren’t they boycotting Sudan?

su-dan-baby-small.jpg

If they’re so disturbed by ahem…cough cough… “invasions, closures, checkpoints, curfews, and shootings and arrests of teachers, lecturers and students”, why aren’t they boycotting Iran?

i-ran-small-hang1.jpg

Oh. wait. That wouldn’t be against Jooooooooz. My bad.

In case y’all didn’t know… England was the first European country to expel its entire Jewish population in the 13th century. Hmmm.
betterani-ddy.gif
England expels all Jews

Hey.
Let’s start a boycott of all Pales-tinian academics. Oh, my bad again. There aren’t any worthy of mention. Ooops. facees16.gif

Regarding “educational rights,” there were no universities in Pale-stine until Israel founded them following the Six-Day War.

None. Notta one.
Incidentally, Israel still allows them to operate despite the fact that they are terror-training and recruitment centers to this day. Go figure.

The EU, UN, America and the rest of the world continues to compel Israel to appease while ignoring all the persecutors and terrorists of the entire world.

Egypt permitted thousands of weapons tunnels dug from their country to Gaza which ultimately caused the slaughter of innocent Jews.

But hey, they’re “a good ally”. With “allies” like that, who needs……..well you get my drift.

Sy-ria is one big state-sponsored terror hole.
Ir-an can just continue with their Hitleresqe threats and actions.

An unending flow of American and European money continues to be shelled out to the “Pallys”..Ham-ASS and FAT-ah, known terrorists. money1.gif

I hear tell……The new democracy of Ir-aq is not recognizing Israel for mercys sake.

Any boycotts over that?

Then again my sweet friends………..
There’s always this:

SAM LEVINSON’S ANSWER TO AN ANTI-SEMITE:

“It’s a free world; you don’t have to like Jews, but if you don’t, I suggest that you boycott certain Jewish products, like the Wasserman test for syphilis; digitalis, discovered by a Dr. Nuslin; insulin, discovered by Dr. Minofsky; chloral hydrate for convulsions, discovered by Dr. Lifreich; the Schick test for diptheria; vitamins, discovered by Dr. Funk; steptomycin, discovered by Dr. Z. Woronan, the polio pill by Dr. A. Sabin and the polio vaccine by Dr. Jonas Salk.

Go on, boycott! Humanitarian consistency requires that my people offer all these gifts to all people of the world. Fanatic consistency requires that all bigots accept syphilis, diabetes, convulsions, malnutrition, infantile paralysis and turberculosis as a matter of principle.

“You want to be mad? Be mad! But I’m telling you, you ain’t going to feel so good!”

“UK Boycotts Israel…Hmmm……”- Indeed! Well what is to be expected really? UK is one of the few countrys that actually is MORE dhimmified than Sweden. And that says a lot!

Fortunatly, the Brits also have some backbone in them, they are just a bit slow on the uptake (as proven by two consecutive world wars). I´m not so shure about that when looking at my fellow Swedish countrymen. We live in a socialistic state after all (even though we now have a center- right government). The straw that breaks the horses back is coming soon in the UK. Then we will see.

Now dear brits, what exactly has the democratic country of Israel done to upset your day????
A)Not stood still to suicide bombing and rockets launched into their towns,(as Steve Martin would say)..WELL EXXXXXXCCCCCCUUUSSSEEEE ME!!!!!
B)Continue to flourish as an economic and technologic soceity in spite of all its surrounding enemies…BOYCOTT THIS!!!!
It seems to me that perhaps you un-United Kingdomites may be a little jealous..a better idea may be to learn from Israel rather than shun them.

    Angel, nice post.

“Israel’s 40-year occupation has seriously damaged the fabric of Palestinian society”

I keep saying this all over the internet and I will repeat it here that it is a little bit of a twisted (warped) view of history to call Israel an occupying force in what was temporarily once Trans-Jordan in places like Nazareth, Jericho, Sidon, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, etc. I have biblical and secular (Josephus) that would refute that they are the occupiers, not to mention the menacing aggression of the Arabs (not Palestinians, no such thing) in 1967 which provoked the change in political control of certain areas and the continued commitment by “Palestinian” organizations to destroy Israel altogether. For goodness sake, Israel has tried to accommodate the Palestinians national aspirations many times, but they keep throwing it back in their face and refusing (since 1947) the two state policy. So be it………….. but Occupiers, I don’t think so. …………… stevereenie

Aren’t universities known for higher learning?
It seems that supposed educators are doing anything but educating.
    Don’t they employ history professors?
    Maybe history isn’t required anymore.
Anyone and everyone should be able to find for themselves that Judea proceeded anything called “Palestine”.

Hello. I agree with this post! This post is wonderful! We must create an online petition. Then, virtually sign it in opposition to the actions of the anti-Semitic British intelligentsia and in support of Israeli academics.

Crawjo at Foucault’s Lunchbox also posted on this subject. You may find his post entitled, British Academics Attempt Boycott of Israeli Academics, of interest.

  11. Gayle says:

It certainly is amazing watching the decline of Europe, Angel, and it’s also discouraging and scary watching the decline of America. This is a great post, btw, and I love the last part regarding Sam Levinson’s Answer. LOL!

Wow, Hot Rod… you’ve done it again! Exceptional post. I learned a lot about Jewish contributions I never knew, too. I may reconsider my nickname for you… perhaps ‘Lightning Rod’ is more appropriate, eh?

I have long been infuriated with the UK’s rapid, yet long term digression. It must be nearing a damn near vertical downward spiral now! I’ve always hated cowering, and that is exactly what they are doing to Jihadi pressure. If it frustrates folks like us, perhaps it will help to consider how it must feel to still be a clear thinking, seeing Brit under these present day circumstances.

Maybe that thought can be the uplifting motivator we all seem to be looking for. Yes, it is horrible here in the midst of this liberal gibberish and passive spreading of PCism, but hey… How would it feel to live in the UK today? Any remaining Conservative over there must be mortified to the point of insanity!

I think the best summation overall comes above from Layla… pitooey!

I’ve always liked the Brits, and have several Brit friends. It’s too bad that once great country has turned around in such spineless, dhimmi fashion. The fact of people whose responsibilities lie in the education of future British generations commiting themselves to an anti-Israel stance speaks volumes on what we can expect from jolly old England down the road. When they eventually accept Sharia law from their future Islamic masters, it’ll be their “sticky wicket”, not ours.

  15. OMMAG says:

Rip them another one Angel! The only consistent thing going on in The Britain formerly known as Great is the ever accelerating spin down the toilet!

How long before we hear the flush and gurgle of that society?

  16. michael says:

    Here’s a resolution I’d like to see:

“notes that the palestinian’s 40+ year terrorist campaign has seriously damaged the fabric of Israeli society through fear, illegal rocket attacks, indiscriminate bombings and incitement to genocidal hatred… deplores the denial of rights to live and let live for Israelis by suicide bombings, riots, death threats, Molotov cocktails, and shootings of motorists, security guards and anyone else they can find.”

    It won’t happen, but I can dream, can’t I?

    Angel,
I just trackbacked a very appropriate post. There was another development today. The largest British trade union (UNISON) also wants to boycott. This is in addition to Brit doctors, press and architects.

  20. ZionistYoungster says:

You know, I’m thinking maybe it’s time for a little reconsideration (of Britain).

Let me ask you something: if Egypt were to declare an academic boycott of Israel, would anyone be surprised? Of course not. Because Egypt is a Muslim country.

I’m thinking we should perhaps entertain the idea that the old Britain of Queen Victoria, Disraeli, Sir Charles Napier, Churchill and Thatcher is gone, really gone, no longer exists, and what we have here is a country comparable to Egypt. For all that’s said about British Jew-hatred, I find it hard to believe this stream of boycott initiatives would be possible without the pressure of dhimmifying forces in that country.

And Christopher Hitchens is the one who started me on the road toward this idea.

  21. Always On Watch says:

Well, if they ban Israeli academics, they won’t be able to sustitute in Muslim academics–unless those Muslim academics are “scholars of Islam”–whatever that means.

  22. brooke says:

I hear from Jay that certain doors (aka money) are closing for the Brits as a result of this!
