Why is Sen. Kennedy Blocking a Bill That Would Protect Kids?
The proposed law is called the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act. And it would mandate that federal authorities keep a database of convicted child predators and child abusers. Of course, that would help local authorities, who could tap into the computerized information and instantly know who’s in their neighborhood.
Right now, child predators can roam from state to state and the cops are blind to their background. So does anyone oppose that law, that proposed law? Does anyone oppose it?
Only fools and people that don’t care about kids would object to the national database. But in the Senate, a vote on the bill is being held up by Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid, the minority leader in the Senate.
Mr. Reid says that Kennedy was promised a vote on a new hate crimes bill. And that’s why the child protection bill is not going to the floor for a vote. Apparently, Senator Kennedy wants to attach some kind of hate crimes legislation to the child help bill.
Well, with all due respect to Kennedy and Reid, this is politics at its worst. There’s no need to burden this child help bill with any other piece of legislation. The child bill should stand alone. If the hate crimes bill is a good law, that should stand alone as well.
Here’s a “No Spin” message to Senators Reid and Kennedy. Every day, you guys dither around, thousands of children get hurt in America. Every day that local law enforcement doesn’t have the information it should have, predators are more free to rape and kill.”
Database of convicted child rapists???
This is what they are squabbling about?
Who is examining the ripple effects of the heinous crimes that these monsters are perpetrating on innocent girls and boys?
The Death Penalty.
That is what they should be bantering about….the method of execution.
The loudest voices think the death of a convicted rapist is somehow a societal tragedy. Yet the unspeakable suffering of countless victims, to them becomes yet another easily-ignored statistic.
Well, here are some stats that may not be so easy to ignore:
It is estimated that there are 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America today.

Approximately 31% of women in prison state that they had been abused as children.

Approximately 95% of teenage prostitutes have been sexually abused.

It is estimated that children with disabilities are 4 to 10 times more vulnerable to sexual abuse than their non-disabled peers.

Long term effects of child abuse include fear, anxiety, depression, anger, hostility, inappropriate sexual behavior, poor self esteem, tendency toward substance abuse and difficulty with close relationships.

Clinical findings of adult victims of sexual abuse include problems in interpersonal relationships associated with an underlying mistrust. Generally, adult victims of incest have a severely strained relationship with their parents that is marked by feelings of mistrust, fear, ambivalence, hatred, and betrayal. These feelings may extend to all family members.

Guilt is universally experienced by almost all victims. Courtois and Watts described the “sexual guilt” as “guilt derived from sexual pleasure”

Sexual victimization may profoundly interfere with and alter the development of attitudes toward self, sexuality, and trusting relationships during the critical early years of development.

Adolescents with a history of sexual abuse are significantly more likely than their counterparts to engage in sexual behavior that puts them at risk for HIV infection, according to Dr. Larry K. Brown and associates, from Rhode Island Hospital, in Providence.
Young girls who are forced to have sex are three times more likely to develop psychiatric disorders or abuse alcohol and drugs in adulthood, than girls who are not sexually abused.

“WHEN SEXUALLY abused boys are not treated, society must later deal with the resulting problems, including crime, suicide, drug use and more sexual abuse, said the study’s author, Dr. William C. Holmes of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.”
“The earlier studies found that one-third of juvenile delinquents, 40 percent of sexual offenders and 76 percent of serial rapists report they were sexually abused as youngsters.”
“The suicide rate among sexually abused boys was 1½ to 14 times higher, and reports of multiple substance abuse among sixth-grade boys who were molested was 12 to 40 times greater.”
Highlights from 2000 include the following as reported to law enforcement:
67% of victims of sexual assault were juveniles (under age 18);
34% of sexual assault victims were under age 12;
1 of every 7 victims of sexual assault were under age 6;
40% of offenders who victimized children under age 6 were juveniles (under age 18).

It’s a common practice in Washington to attach a “rider” to a bill, perhaps it should be outlawed. How many times have we heard stories like this where a good law is getting held up beauce some hot-shot Senator is holding out for something irrelevent tothe rest of the bill. Also, riders are common hiding places for pork.

As long as we have a society that glorifies sex between two consenting adults as a good thing - sex as recreation instead of sex withing the commitment to marriage and sex as the means of procreation, we will have rampant sex abuse. Then abuse merely comes down to the question of consent which is easily dispensed with in the minds of most.
Remember - the accepted moral code of the liberal is “just put ice on it”

I hope this information could be useful,and if anyone could help shed light I would be greatful .
I’am a victim of psychiatric abuse its a crime, and in hospital I have witnessed the twisted mentality of mental health professionals such as abuse like punishing me with force drugging of antipsychotics , chemical restraints ,isolation for days at a time with in appropriate meals, and nursing staff threating me with anything they thought of and it just depends on how mad you got the staff that day. I never did anything out of control or did I get violent,yet I was just standing up for patients rights and making my argued opinions in result I would get tortured with over dosing of forced antipsychotic drugs. I have even witnessed nursing staff murder a co-patient and it was sickening,frustrating and very sad part of my life. I also have a young friend who got an E.C.T done and it has completly fried his memory. after the reinforcement of drugs I have had tremors symtoms of N.M.S head pains, heart cardiac pains,weight gain ,dizzyness and sleepiness all caused by side affects of antipsychotic drugs. I suffer each day with the symptoms and I don’t think I will live that long on psychiatric medication its deadly look at the statistics if anyone can help me with this prosectution I would appreciate all the help I can get please I can name a few people who were responsible for the murders of some people:

I was molested by . I’am 13 years old and when this happened he told me he was giving me therapy , well let me tell you he did all kinds of sexual things to me ,and told me that it was okay cause he was the doctor and does this stuff all the time .it hurts my feelings i told my parents molested me, but they dont’t believe me .I didn’t know that he also works at north east mental health center in north bay, ontario and is a psychiatrist . Mark Samuel, Nurse Sex Offender Convicted
On Sept 8,2005 RN:Mark Samuel was sentenced to five years in Jail with all but two years suspended,having been convicted in January 2004 of unlawful sexual contact with a 6 year-old girl . Mark Samuel counseled the girls mother. when the counseling ended , the three became friends attending family fuctions together. The violations occurred during sleepovers at the Nurses residence during the summer of 2003. Mark Samuel has been released from prison and is now at risk to the community of North Bay Ontario Mark Samuel emyployed 2007 for Assertive community treatment Team North Bay, ON
