CartooN Code of Conduct?..ha!

“As the crisis over the Danish cartoons depicting the Isl-amic prophet Muh-ammad appears to be dying down, it is time to create a system to prevent such a costly crisis from erupting in the future.
As a result of the crisis, lives were lost, embassies were attacked in the Mus-lim world, the loyalty of Mus-lims living in Europe was put into question, and the image of Is-lam in the West as a violent religion was reinforced, thus increasing the possibility of the “clash of civilizations” desired by Is-lamic radicals such as Os-ama bin Laden.
Preventing New Cartoon Crisis continues..
Complicating the situation further was the reaction of many in the West to the violence perpetrated by the Mus-lims protesting the cartoons. The Mus-lims were accused of double standards, since anti-Semitic and anti-Christian cartoons are widespread in the A-rab and Mus-lim worlds, and when complaints are made about them, the response is usually “we have a free press” — precisely the words used by the Danes to justify their cartoons.
In order to rectify the situation, and to prevent a future crisis of this type from erupting, what is needed is a “code of conduct” for the newspapers and other media in both the Western and Mus-lim worlds. All governments must agree that the negative depiction of religion is “out of bounds,” and penalties should be imposed on those who violate the code of conduct. “

Um..no, my sweet friends……. this is not a parody.
O.K. Let’s recap shall we….
Is-lamic Jihad leader Nafez Azzam weighed in on the Mu-hamad cartoon fest——— “We feel great rage at the continued attacks on Is-lam and the Prophet of Is-lam and we demand that the Danish government make a clear and public apology for the wrongful crime.”
Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari complained to the Danish ambassador to Baghdad.
Danish troops were put on alert there after a fa-twa regarding the cartoons was issued.
Diplomatic protests erupted from the Organization of the Isl-amic Conference. There were protests in Kashmir. Death threats issued from Pakistan, protests to the United Nations from the Muzlim World League…and on and on.
Freedom of Selective Speech?
Where is the social criticism of Pornography and the untold damage it has been wreaking on the lives of women and children? No battlecries for censorship there eh?
As long as cartoons are allowed to exist, Americans can rest assured that we still have the right and privilege to express controversial opinions even if they do perchance “offend” someone’s sensibilities.
We believe in exhibiting a diversity of ideas, do we not?
Do we not encourgae our journalists to be bold in their quest for truth?
Do we not ask our writers to be uninhibited, and often-times, even though tempted …..not to self-censor?
You think this imposed “dhimmitude” will stop at censoring toons?
When you eliminate one aspect of free expression, you threaten the vitality of the whole.
Do not fool yourselves, my sweet friends.
The fate of the editorial cartoon and the apologetic reaction to it may very well undermine the future we are all so desperately trying to safeguard.
They recommend a Code of Conduct eh?
Oh..Well here’s Angel’s Recommended Code of Conduct:
How bout Muzlims…
1-Dismantling belief systems, social structures, and institutional practices that oppress and dehumanize those who disagree with them?
2-Stop perpetrating global violence through war, enslavement and genocide.
3-End the conditions that enable and perpetuate hatred, bashing, riots and
violence?
4-Change the notion that Muzlims- (in their system of hierarchical oppression) as a specific group are inherenly dominant over others…….(Americans, Christians, Joooooos…for instance)
oh…and lastly…….
5- How bout letting go of gaining power and control of the Universe while your’e at it?

My word this is an extroardinarily excellent post. Your points are well founded and observed. I agree wholeheartedly with you and also, your code of behavior if it were to be adhered to would save us all much grief. Too bad there are so many cowards that are unwilling to do what is right vs. the doing what is wrong, just because that is EaSieR.
Thank you for the great work!

Well …… I can probably say, with the utmost certainty …. that they will NEVER give in or negotiate even one single word of your code of conduct. It would mean admitting that their on the same level as the rest of us. You and I are the infidel… lower then camel dung … no respect or tolerance can be given to anyone of that stature in their quest for muslim expansion and world domination.

Excellent post there. I remember a lib once saying on Arianna Huffington’s moonbat blog that, “American conservatives are so like the radical Muslims taking to the streets this week”. I think what I said at the time in response was “Well we know this isn’t true, otherwise liberals like Arianna would be the first to defend American conservatives.”
And how sadly true that is; islamofascists can beat, torture, kill, and live out their entire pathetic lives the misogynists that they are and liberals (here and in Europe) will continue making excuses to them while waiting on them hand and foot. But heaven help a conservative Christian or Jew who complains because there’s too much sex and other garbage in the public forum where a child might see it, then we never hear the end of it. On the other hand, it’s sort of fun watching the libs show themselves for the insincere liars that they are, so long as they aren’t the ones in power :p.

Wouldn’t it be something if the old Tex Avery , or Looney Toons
style of stereotyping was used on these Islamist fascists like they were on the Nazis and Tojo’s minions.
Perhaps South Park is the new Looney Toons.

Great post on a crucial theme. We can regulate our own behavior, but often the behavior of others is beyond affect. the clue is to find their magic button - the things that we can agree upon that are not acceptable. While we do have a free press and willingly deal with delicate subjects -their is no compulsive or need to desecrate religion. If nothing else it is a question of manners. We need to always call them on their lack of consistency as you just very well did. We need to question aloud why their religion allows certain unloving behavior, if it is truly a religion of peace. We need to put pressure on their actions, but a realistic problem exists. Too many centuries of inculturation based -not upon love - but upon conquest have taken their toll. Modification is anethma to the Muslim mindset.
Perhaps we could start with agreeing with them that all is not well with our own culture. Abortion and hedonism make for an easy target to foster hate. Our prominent successes and power (granted from Allah in their mind) make for envy and intolerance on their part.
The answers aren’t simple. In the meantime tolerating their violence in our world is our line in the sand and they need to know it. Our liberals have once again told our enemies that we lack the will, the determination, the perseverance, to stand up for that which we purport to believe. Perhaps it is we that should have shown them the anger we feel -not at cartoons -but at their bloody murder and terror and their violation of our innocent life. Our poll numbers and our politicians with the help of our liberal press tell them we really don’t mean it!

I love cartoons. Thats another thing these minority mooslams are gonna takeaway from us. Soon well all be wearing turbans, beating our wives and using our children to kill jews (cs). We gotta make a stand now and let the cartoons express how we feel.

Quite a bit of material you covered.
I’ve never really look at this has a question of free speech. For one thing I do not know the Constitution of Denmark. I have always seen this as being a question of tolerance and Allah and his followers have shown their true character. Mass demonstrations, flag burnings, attacking embassies and human life over cartoons doesn’t speak well for their tolerance of other cultures.
Some may say that we insulted them and brought this upon ourselves. I ask where are these people when churches and synagogues are being destroyed and leveled?

Good post, woman. Selective censorship is a nasty thing. The current crop of Democrats is the closest thing to the Big Brother that Orwell warned about.

Mothers expect Damien on 06/06/06…
FOR one group of expectant mothers, their due date holds an extra dimension of dread. The prospect of giving birth on June 6, 6/6/06, has prompted talk of spawning devil children on Armageddon day….
