Mr. Third World

If the only prayer you ever said was “Thank You” that would be enough.
Meister Eckhart

What exactly is gratitude?
What are its psychological components? Can they be measured? If so, how?
Perhaps it contains a moral function or a spiritual use..
But one thing is certain….The importance of the underlying principle of thinking, feeling and most especially “expressing” gratitude can scarcely be over-emphasized.

Yes, I admit it..During the course of my life I have been prone to idolizing or perhaps even at time “emulating” others.

And with that I would like to thank someone some of us may know as a real “character”…Heh.

Derived from the Greek, the term “character” has come to mean the constellation of strengths and weaknesses that form and reveal who we are.
David, certainly presents with a constellation alright.
In my admittedly less than humble observation, I see in his writings that he seeks to unite credible and rigorous sources with the exploration of humanity’s basic emtional, spiritual and religious quests.

One moment he is “ranting” (can I say that? about the soft, anti-American Libs whom he seems to see as being in love with our enemies, while at the next..he is intellectually challenging the propaganda machine churning out battle cries daily that do not seem to match reality.

He aggresively questions the fear-mongering hype intended to persuade Americans into supporting self defeatist pursuits. And while some resort to expletive laced tirades dripping with venom, he presents something so sorely lacking ….”reasoned argumentation.”

Over at third world county life is unpredicable at best..Heh.

Being self-made in our culture is hallowed, but in fact none of us are truly “self-made,” and I, for one, would not be here (in this blogosphere) without the help and guidance of Mr. third world county himself.

So it is with great affection that I say……
Thank You.

Celebrate BlogMother’s Day and perhaps thank the one who “gave you Life.”

I just did.
