Another DaY Another Meme!
Please please scroll down for my new posts..Sometimes I do have more than one!..heh
—————————————
My buddies David at third world county and Yak at The Random Yak tagged me with the “eight random things” meme. Yikes another meme!
The rules of the meme:
When tagged, you must link to the person who tagged you.
Then post the rules before your list, and list eight random things about yourself. At the end of the post, you must tag and link to eight other people.
Here goes:
1-I can’t believe I won the Weblog Award this year and am still wonderin why..ha
2-I can’t express enough gratitude to my friends and readers here who keep me allegedly sane……more than y’all know!
3-I live to dance…or is that dance to live……..o wait…is that eat to…ah never mind~!
4-My family is my World. Really.
5-I work with the Military and families of the Military, which is one of the greatest honors of my Life.
6-I married my first and only Love. awwwwwwwww.
7-Sports rules. That’s all I have to say.
and finally………
8-Music is my panacea.
The following song saved my Life at one point: Literally.
Press the Play button to watch.
Sorry but I have to tag a few folks ..no throwin rotten tomatoes at me eh!
I “tag” the unsuspecting:
Brooke!
Gayle!
Joe!
Benning!
Kkarl M.
and….Incognito!
Ok that’s not quite 8..Sue me! Heh
If you had the good fortune of escaping the dreaded “tag”, please feel free to tell us random things bout yerself in the Comments. Knock yerself out. Heh.

Amazing Grace is the “Police Anthem” performed at many functions, but especailly funerals. It is eerie and will bring tears when performed by bagpipers.

What a moving video! I’m going to put it on my blog God and Me as soon as I get home.

A great 8, especially for Thanksgiving week.
BTW, the tune most folks sing Newton’s lyrics to (I don’t–long story) is NOT the first, or even second or third (or fourth or fifth) tune the lyrics were married with (in fact, more than 60 years elapsed between Newton’s penning of the lyrics and their marriage with “New Britain”–an American tune). While I do NOT hold with those who foolishly mate the lyrics to the Gilligan’s Island theme or Ghost Riders in the Sky or House of the Rising Sun, as some musical illiteratis have done in recent years, there are several tunes that really SING those lyricvs for me much better than the one most recently popular tune, demonstrated above.
Just a personal quirk. Musical teleology is a bugaboo of mine.
BTW, NEW BRITAIN is fine, just not the best pairing for these lytrics, IMO. Even O WALLY WALLY (also known as THE RIVER IS WIDE) better catches the sense of the lyrics, IMO. But that’s just me. It’s still a fav of mine, even with its pairing with NEW BRITAIN.
I know, I know: rabbit trail combined w/TMI…
Great 8, Angel.

I love that song. Never seen the video though. There are so many versions of Amazing Grace and they are all moving.

Angel, although you tagged me, I’m going to have to do the tag right here on your post. Here’s why: The tower my lan connection runs on was hit by lightning. I’m presently using dial-up, and it’s slower than usual. It took me five minutes to load your blog! Because I’m expecting company Monday through Thursday evening, I won’t be posting, except for the Thanksgiving post I just put up, until Friday. I’ll try to visit from time to time if I can.
So… here goes:
1. I’m ambidextrous.
2. My favorite food on Thanksgiving Day is the dressing. Give me a plate of dressing and gravy on top and I’m happy.
3. I married my first love too.
4. I hate to iron.
5. I can touch the floor with the flat of my hands without bending my knees.
6. I’m told by many that I’m an excellent cook. No gourmet, though. It’s old-fashioned home cooking.
7. Except for an occasional chocolate (no gooie fillings) I don’t like sweets.
8. I don’t like liberal moonbats. (But you know that.)
I would post this on my blog and tag eight people, but it would take me forever to tag the eight people and notify them, so this is the best I can do.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Angel. God bless you!

When I die,I want “Amazing Grace” played at my funeral/service on the trumpet. It should make people sob.My in-laws release doves at funerals and I help out occasionally and I have heard every sad version of “Amazing Grace”ever played on an instrument.I have to agree with whoever said that the bagpipes were the saddest.
Thankyou for not tagging me too.I will vote extra next year on the weblog awards !!

Angel, you know I love you like a sister. But ‘eat, sleep, DANCE’!?!?!? You’re just trying to tick off the guys with that one, aren’t you. All I know is the snoopy dance, and I’m not even good at that one. Quit trying to get me in trouble, Angel!
November 19th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
“My family is my World. Really.”
Well, that’s true, but it’s hardly enough payback for ‘eat, sleep, dance!’.

Amazing Grace is aural perfection. Man’s triumph over aversity and the long for God.
November 20th, 2007 at 12:18 am
adversity and the longing, I mean.
November 23rd, 2007 at 12:30 pm
Amazing Grace crumbles rocks to sand. Every time.
Bless you, Angel.
