“I met Steve Kazmierczak in an introductory political science class in 2002 as a freshman in college. He was inquisitive, smart, respectful and nice.
But now I find myself wondering if I ever knew Steve, the man who shot and killed five people and then himself in a lecture hall at my alma mater, Northern Illinois University.”
NIU grad recalls shooter as inquisitive, smart, nice
Our topics of choice: foreign policy and the Middle East. He would especially enjoy practicing his Arabic on me. In 2004, NIU decided to offer a year’s worth of Arabic classes. Steve took both classes without hesitation, excited as could be.
“Assalamo Alikum,” he would say to me, which means “peace be with you” in Arabic. He would proceed to ask me how I was doing and what I was up to, all in A-rabic with a thick accent and a huge, excited smile.Sometimes I was his walking dictionary and he would ask me, “What does this word mean in English?” or “What is this word in Arabic?”
Once we took a course called “The Politics of the Middle East.” At the beginning of the course, our instructor informed us a research paper would be due by the end of the semester.
Steve decided on Ha-mas, which is known mainly to the world as being a Pal-estinian terrorist group, which was the first thing that interested Steve about the group.
But he also heard Ha-mas funded many social services, which also interested him. How could one group be put into two completely different categories, Steve would ask.
Unlike most of us, Steve started his research from day one, reading every book he could find on Hamas. He’d give me a status report when we saw each other in class. Steve said that his perception of Ha-mas changed with all the research he did.

So, he was enamoured with Ham-ASS.
My, what a conundrum that poses for the Lefties who gag every time someone suggests a shooter is going to somehow be Muzlim or associated with Muzlims.

Too tired to write much more than: You rock! (Have been standing out in the rain for nine hours- just got home and opened a beer. Soon to be knocked out. Sentry duty is much harder than you think. My bones hurt and my muscles are sore (the body armor is a bitch- excuse my French). Then there is the combat west with all the mag´s and all the otther sh*t you carry around. Not to mention the iron rods (AK:s [assualt rifles]).
I’m to old for this (c; I need a real life job in a warm country.

Why is the MSM quiet about this? Remember Hillary a few months back saying that a terrorist attack during the election season would benefit Republicans? The MSM is not interested in reporting those “pro-Republican” terrorists. It’s all about “zee partee.” Hillary is a female Socialist and Obama is a male Socialist and the MSM just can’t resort to publishing facts because those things get in the way of party goals. Angel: nice post though I can’t say I agree with the usual round of Arab bashing. This actually happened pretty close to where I live. The trend of high school/college shootings is very alarming. It seems these guys are copy-cat killers going on rampages on campus. This particular case could be linked to the murderer’s interest in Islam and Palestinian terrorism. Then again, that may have nothing to do with it.

This seems to be a popular post for you Angel. As it should be. We have got to realize that whether we want to admit it or not, we are at war. In the video I posted to my blog yesterday, it says, (and this is from an American soldier who died in Iraq) “America is not a country at war, it is a country with it’s military at war.” The soldiers GET IT. Why can’t we? Our politicians and the drive by media are fools in this explosion of ideals, and if they don’t get their heads out of their nether regions, we are all going to suffer because of it.
