HugginG in SchooL?

MESA, Ariz. — A school policy banning student hugging prompted dozens of east Valley students to protest with a giant group hug across the street from campus.
School Bans Hugs Over 2 Seconds
Students Don’t Embrace ‘Public Display Of Affection’ PolicyThe “no-hugging” rule had previously been in the student handbook. After many students began expressing concern about public hugging and kissing in the hallways, the school began reinforcing the guideline by punishing huggers, which led to Friday’s protest.

Hugging.
Not as simple as it appears.

Policing the behavior of this Paris Hilton and Britney Spears ‘wanna be’ generation, has to take into account that these are the “role models” kids often take thier social cues from –as unnerving as that may be.
As far as teacher-student relationships…….
Fear of being falsely accused of inappropriate behavior toward students has made in nearly impossible for a teacher to even tap a student on the shoulder.

Before the age of promiscuity and free luv and s-ex, even thinking about touching someone se-xually in a school setting would have been unheard of.
Now we know not what is acceptable in that easy to misconstrue gray area between a concerned teacher who may offer an innocent pat on the shoulder or the teacher whose manipulative designs are those of a se-xual predator.
And students hugging and kissing in the hallways?
Ill-defined terrain is an understatement.

Teachers used to be able to be nuturers. Then again, a majority of teachers (back in the day) were women, and most girls came to school…”dressed.”
Most parents would not want their childrens’ teachers “lovingly putting an arm around them.”

Students now readily talk about se-x, constantly use sexual connotations, and make sexually charged remarks every other second.
Even among students, flirting can, in some cases, lead to harassment which leads to inapproriate touching.
Boundaries are so blurred, no one even knows they are there.
Then again..What feels as good as Hugging.
No wonder the students “protesteth too much.”

I, for one…..can’t get enough of them. Mmmmmm.
C’mere and gimme a hug wouldya.

Hug Department: Always Open.

A hug is like a boomerang - you get it back right away.

Well the PDAs can get noxious after a while, so I understand where the school is coming from and now the kids get about 4 minutes to get to class so most of them don’t have time to do the “Amanda HugnKiss” routine.

How would Descartes put it? “Hugs are exponential because the hugging gaiven is equal to the hugging rec’vd.”
I like hugs. Especially when I’m feeling blue or about to explode or secretly cackling about how a wicked plot of mine is unfolding or even when I’m in my ‘touch me not’ phase.
Hugs are like safety and courtesy - use them all you want - they don’t cost a thing.
Wasn’t there a magical TV Police show guy named ‘Huggy Bear?” Or maybe it was a cereal? Never mind - gimme a hug.

Yeah, no hugging in school… what bunk! As if this should be anywhere near the top o the list of priorities in our public schools. Fricken’ mindless liberal mouth breathers. Our public school systems have long departed the arena of any actual, useful contributions… and have become nothing but a breeding ground for mind toxins and societal debauchery. I wouldn’t send a pet fish to any one of them for an “education”!

I agree with Defiant Infidel, Angel. I would not send my pet fish to a public school either! LOL!
Seriously, it has gotten totally ridiculous when kids can’t even hug one another in school. First of all, I agree the teachers need to keep their hands off of students because it’s too easy to say a teacher abused you if you don’t like that teacher, and many kids aren’t above falsly accusing a teacher of misconduct. But I think if we must have public schools the sexes should be seperated. The boys and girls distract one another, especially in Jr. High and highschool. They’d learn a lot more if they weren’t trying to impress the opposite sex, and the girls need to not be allowed to dress like little prostitutes!

When I was a kid, we didn’t hug our friends every time we saw each other. I don’t think we hugged our teachers either. But today, even with my own kids, I see an awful lot of hugging going on, especially with my youngest daughter. When she runs into a friend at the orthodontist’s office after school, they hug. When we attend some school function, my daughter & her girl friends all hug eachother. It’s the weirdest thing. We never had the need for a hug. We toughed it out and just said “hi”. I don’t know what motivates it.

Great post hun. I have one for you right out of Arlington, VA political/socially correct schools. You cannot say “G-d” in any shape, way or form. You are corrected if you say, “Oh my G-d.” BUT the joke is there is nothing wrong with teaching about false gods like Kufu from Ancient Egypt. Then it is okay to say god. SICK! SPIT!
Then they are the same ones wondering why our kids are so confused. Look at the dichodomy of this!

It’s the same thing in the work place, especially with women walking around with not much on, one has to look the other way or even head the other way, lest you put yourself in a predicament. A pat on the back can literally be taken the wrong way. Fortunately i’m not a touchy-feely person, so that’s half the problem avoided.
