Coffee is Good For Ya

Coffee may cut the risk of dementia by blocking the damage cholesterol can inflict on the body, research suggests.
Daily caffeine ‘protects brain’
“Caffeine appears to block several of the disruptive effects of cholesterol that make the blood-brain barrier leaky,” ………..“High levels of cholesterol are a risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease, perhaps by compromising the protective nature of the blood brain barrier…….
“This is the best evidence yet that caffeine equivalent to one cup of coffee a day can help protect the brain against cholesterol.

Ah yes.
Coffee.
The most maligned but undoubtedly, the most beloved beverage in the world.

108 million Americans who routinely enjoy this morning ritual can’t all be wrong, can they?
We know coffee beans are chockfull of antioxidants. .

And most of us have already heard how caffeine helps in the treatement of headaches. Heck, Anacin or Excedrin can contain as much as 120 milligrams of caffeine.

On the flip side, coffee can make people jittery
and even raise cholesterol levels, sooooooooo don’t overdue it..and hey……Just because it’s rich in some antioxidants,- coffee is no substitute for fruit and vegetables. Sorry.

As a matter of fact, Dates, red grapes, and cranberrries are among the leading fruit sources of antioxidants…so..have some cranberry pie with that cup of java?

As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.

Don’t drink coffee in the morning. It will keep you awake until noon.

Man does not live by coffee alone. Have a danish.
What say Y’all sweet friends?..Coffee, tea or me?

After living in Paris for four years and drinking that DELICIOUS little hot espresso with a glass of cold water (WHAT a combo..unbelievably good), I came back here and now have a kind of syndrome where drinking caffeine brings on symptoms that were very worrisome till we found out what it was, and costly before we finally figured it out. Quelle domage! I MISS IT!

A few weeks ago I was having dinner at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City and was treated to chocolate covered coffee beans. Absolutely divine tasting. Of course, I didn’t get to sleep for 36 hours, but otherwise, divine.
I drink one cup of coffee a day. Twenty years ago I was drinking 6 or 7 cups daily but had to stop because it was making me jittery.

I grind my beans with a device made for the purpose (influence from my ultra-liberal Berkeley sourced cousin in Santa Cruz) because I love the enhanced rich taste.
