PassoveR: FreedoM to All

Passover is one of the most important religious festivals in the Jewish calendar. Jews celebrate the Feast of Passover (Pesach in Hebrew) to commemorate the liberation of the Children of Israel who were led out of Egypt by Moses.
Jews have celebrated Passover since about 1300 BC, following the rules laid down by God in Exodus 13.
The story of Passover

It’s all about Freedom guys and dolls. That, and of course……..the Food. heh

How timely sweet friends..when our precious Freedom is precisely what we are all fighting for.
Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.
Abraham Lincoln
It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.
Dick Cheney
The Festivities!

The “Seder”: family ritual and meal. Mmmmmmmm.

No man in the world has more courage than the man who can stop after eating one peanut.
Channing Pollock
Red meat is not bad for you. Now blue-green meat, that’s bad for you!
Tommy Smothers
To all those celebrating Freedom, Family,
and um..Food..heh..
Happy Passover!

To all my sweet friends:
May your lives be filled with the strength that comes from Faith,
The Peace that comes only with Hope,
and the Blessings of a Loving Family.
Now..get to that seder…and………eat!

April 19th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
I offer as a tribute of Praise and as a prayer for this special occassion:
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.”
April 19th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
Enjoy the festivities and may God continue to protect and guide His people.

We usually honor the Jewish tradition of Passover by holding a Passover dinner at our church, Angel. This is the first time I can remember when we haven’t done so. This is why I’m beginning to wonder about our new Priest!

I sent you a mental “hello” this past Friday as I traveled through the airport at Newark and saw the New York City skyline to the east. There was such a beautiful brown haze hanging over the city that I didn’t know what to think….
