Who’s Afraid Of Ideas?Start with Rush Limbaugh. The king of talk radio exulted that he was “dreaming of riots in Denver” when radicals try to disrupt the Democratic convention. A chorus of pantywaists led by Sen. Ken Salazar demanded Limbaugh be punished. For what: stating the obvious? Civil disorder fomented by the likes of Glenn Spagnuolo and Al Sharpton can only help Republicans – but nothing Rush says will increase its likelihood. Grow up, people.
Then there was Linda Daves, the North Carolina Republican chairman. Her TV ad in a governor’s race, featuring film of Barack Obama’s pastor calling for America’s damnation, was deemed by John McCain as unfit for airing.
Our epidemic of the vapors then swept the departments of State and Homeland Security, which told Americans to avoid words like “jihad” and “Islam” in describing the radical Muslims at war against us – even though many so label themselves.
Mustn’t cause “offense to moderates,” explained the AP story. The bureaucrats prefer sanitized terms like “violent extremist.”
Counter-terrorism expert Steven Emerson suspects the Mu-slim Brotherhood scripted all this.
Since when did it become “insensitive” and rude to choose an exact word to express the ideas one is speaking of. And since when did our society use “offense” as a yardstick to measure what one is permitted to express?
Count how many times women are “offended” daily, in humor, in editorials, on blogs. Anyone shutting that down with a law of hate speech? Hardly. If anything, that type of hatred which may lead to rape and violence against women should be a priority well over jeeeeeeeehadi killers who are the ones inflicting the violence.
People in this country illegally are illegal aliens, not “undocumented workers” or any other such rubbish.
Radical Izlamic maniacs are jiiihadists. Not enthusiastic cheer leaders.
Blacks like Al Sharpton and Rev. Wright are race baiting haters, not enlightened black folk.
The lefty Libs not only in this country, but worldwide, are fascistic. Given their druthers, they would marginalize, censor or flat out ban anything that differs from their self proclaimed, narcissistic “progressive vision.”

Dozens of lesbian activists at Smith College climbed in through windows and stormed the podium in a riot scene shortly after Ryan Sorba began a speech on his upcoming book, The Born Gay Hoax. The melee forced an end to the speech before a packed hall in the library on the Northampton campus.
Uniformed police officers and a plainclothes security guard were in the room but mostly just stood and watched. Rather than take action against the rioters, the officers and a university official walked to the podium and ordered Sorba to leave the room “for his own safety.”
Question for the Libs. (Disclaimer: Don’t expect a remotely rational answer)
Did the concepts of liberty and personal responsibility in America arise from secularism or from Judeo/ Christian values?
Yet you expect a system which denies oftentimes even the existence of God to uphold that which was born from an acknowledgement of His sovereignty? Hmmmmmm.

Excellent post, Angel. Liberals don’t understand that the First Amendment applies to everyone… they think it’s only meant for them. I wish all conservatives would wake up and remove their children from pubic schools. That would cause the school system to lose a lot in Federal Funds and they wouldn’t be able to operate until they started actually teaching real facts again and not BS that has nothing to do with reality.

As if changing the terminology will change who the enemy is! Pffft!
BTW, have you seen this? The State Department has lost track of some very important laptops. I wonder if those laptops used forbidden terminology and, therefore, had to be “dealt with.”

Excellent post Angel! Ok, this pc bs started in the late 60’s with the leftist anarchists and we conservatives all succumbed because basically we are CONSERVATIVE – thinking before we act, taking all sides into consideration, giving the other side the benefit of the doubt, not prone to violence etc. Enough! No more explaining to the Kool Aid drinkers! No more trying to reason with the nuts. No more PC!!! There’s a time and place for honorable civil disobedience and I think it must start with the likes of SB 777!

You are exactly right. It is amazing to me that liberals think they are the ones being limited. I took a speech class recently. Most of the class gave some kind of liberal speech - environmentalism topped it (it just so happened to be earth day I think or the day before - I can’t quite remember - either way lucky me)you also had the anti-war speeches of course. And there I was giving my free-market healthcare speech. It would be so much easier to be a liberal and not have your values ridiculed all the time, but since I do have values I wouldn’t do that. The easy way is not always the best way.
On the topic of the Judeo-Christian foundation of this country, I found a great quote recently by Patrick Henry:
“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”
I never heard that quote until just the other day I came across it on the net and I thought it summed it up pretty good.

Right on target with this post, Angel. yes we pander to the Left just like we pander to the illegals and ultimately to the Islamists. Our pandering is getting us nothing but an increasingly tangled web. We should have confronted much of this garbage back in the 60s when they really ramped up their campaign to destroy the west. Now the fight is much harder.

How about this for people in the country illegally: undocumented identity thieves.
12-20 million illegal aliens - and if they aren’t on welfare the way those who apologize for them suggest, they must be committing identity theft in order to do the work Americans are on record with the IRS for doing even if they don’t want to do it. That’s 12-20 million potential cases of identity theft. No wonder it’s the fastest growing crime in the U.S.
