Myanmar receiving Aid from the U.S. and IsraeL

The tensions between the military junta and Buddhist monks have made the Jewish community take extra precautions and they have recently hired a private security company, to guard Yangon’s only synagogue.
You may think because of this, Israel and Jews would hesitate to lend a hand.
Think again.
Israel is joining the list of countries set to offer aid to Myanmar in the wake of a cyclone storm last weekend that left at least 22,500 people dead.

Helping other nations in need is far from foreign to Jews or Israel.
Save A Child’s Heart (SACH) welcomed the arrival of its first group of Rwandan children suffering from heart disease to be operated on in Israel at the Wolfson Medical Center.

The five children, who range from just a few months old to 15 years of age, landed in Israel today accompanied by a Rwandan nurse as well as by two mothers.
Other Interesting Israeli Activities
NISPD, one of several Israeli organizations that initiated a program to assist Sri Lankan cooperatives to get back on their feet after the 2004 tsunami ruined their livelihood.
Three years have passed since the Asian tsunami hit the shores of the Indian Ocean, leaving in its wake over 250,000 dead, 125,000 injured and almost two million homeless.

As part of the international community’s effort to eradicate poverty, the State of Israel and American-Jewish organizations have contributed $118,000 to assist the starving in Africa.

Israel has decided that the funds donated will be distributed by the World Food Programme (WFP) to the countries of Mauritania, Malawi and Kenya.

Incidentally, Myanmar resisted entry for a U.S. disaster assessment team. Go figure..
The White house said Tuesday the United States will send more than $3 million to help victims of a devastating cyclone in Myanmar, up from an initial emergency contribution of $250,000 .
Bush urges Myanmar to let U.S. helpThe U.S. Navy has three ships in the Gulf of Thailand that could be dispatched to Myanmar if needed. The USS Essex, an amphibious assault ship, as well as two other vessels in its strike group, the USS Juneau and the USS Harper’s Ferry, are there preparing to participate in an annual exercise with Thailand’s naval forces.
That is our United States Navy ready and waiting to rally round and offer aid.

I believe it is in the DNA of the Jewish people, to reach out and help those in need and less fortunate…
just not those that think Homocide bombing and automatic weapons and hourly rockets fired on their civilian population is what neighbors should be doing to each other…but..thank GOD, the Israeli goverment strongly embrace the motto..”Tall fences make for great neighbors”..the taller the better.

Now isn’t that a hoot. The two countries that are vilafied the world over by other countries, are always the first ones to offer help…….but you know….if we didn’t offer help….the world would be against us then too. A no win situation for Israel and the United States? I think not. God sees all and knows who is being a Samaritan here…….

It is an unwritten commandment from G-d to help others, regardless of their race or religion. No where in Islam is that written.
I just wish other nations would do their parts too. Especially those nice rich Muslim nations. After the tsunami Saudi Arabia sent a measly $1 million. Said it didn’t know if it was going to only Muslims. Figures.
As for those “celebrities” they can keep their designer bags and idiotic dogs. I’m waiting for a nation to go to Angelina Whorelee and tell her if she wants to adopt, she must first get married!

What really gets me down hon, is that it’s not only other countries who disrespect Israel and America and don’t give either country any credit for all the good in the world, it’s also a huge percentage of the American population. That’s funny about the Muslims from Darfur going to Israel.
The day will come when the people of the world speak the truth about the Palestinian Authority, how it’s a big thugocracy, and when the Palestinian people realize just how bad they have it, and rise up against the terrorists who run their patch of land. Just like the people of Darfur, the people of Palestine are going to find that the Israelis are the best friends they have. What have their Arab brothers done for them, other than keep them miserable, foment hatred, and fund a proxy war against Israel to keep Arab eyes off the corruption of Arab leaders?

You know this might not make a popular guy around here but I say Let em croak.
We have to get our house in order around here, we have staggering homeless numbers, we have yet to help THOUSANDS of our own people after Katrina….and our Borders are leaking invaders at an alarming rate….Fix these things and then offer aid.
We have offered aid to EVERYWHERE, then get kicked in the mouth when we stand up for ourselves in the WOT.
The leadership of Myanmar wants no help from us. I say again Screw em let Saudi Arabia or Iran help them.
Compassion has limits and when you get kicked in the nuts that compassion leaves with the exhale.
