Try Grill chunks of pineapple, nectarine, and plum along with your steaks..slice them nice n fine…wow.
For an out of this world sauce..try this:

–Remove the pineapple. Now add orange or leftover pineapple juice (from your can) to the pan and reduce heat….saute for about 5 more minutes.

–Whisk in some Dijon or any mustard ya like. Tangy tangy!
–Transfer yer steaks back into the pan. Add the scrumptious caramelized pineapple chunks and toss to yer hearts content. Season with anything else ya like.

–Take 2 tbspns. …
Brush your steaks and marinade them for bout 1/2 an hour.

–Drizzle the dressing over crisp lettuce, and cherry tomatoes.

You like sweet and sour?
Try this spicy treat:

Mix together: (sweet or regular) 2 tspns paprika, 1 tspn brown sugar, 1 tsp. salt, and 1/2 tsp. pepper.
Coat those yummy steaks with 1 Tbsp. olive oil.
Rub your mixture on both sides. ….and grill em up.

For Chicken Lovers:

Honey Mustard…woohoo!
Marinade: in a bowl.
Combine 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup honey , 1/4 cup Dijon-style mustard , pepper, salt, and garlic.
Pour over chicken and seal in a bag if your’e not lazy like me. Heh.
Place chicken pieces every so gently onna grill..heh, bone sides up.

Cover and grill for about an hour or until chicken is no longer pink . Eeeek, the dreaded pink chicken!

Brush once with leftover marinade after 30 minutes of grilling. You did leave some over didn’t ya? ha.

Dig in!

My Memorial Day message?

Solemnity with Festivity my sweet friends.

Pursuit of ‘right’ cannot be wrong
The Good Lord will help us stay steady and strong

Support our troops as if they were all your son
For the work they do is never done

They daily put it on the line
Patriots when summoned…To me, – they shine

So raise your flag, toast with a cheer
And thank all our precious soldiers, far and near.

To the lost……….Thank you can never be enough.

P.S… George , I love you , have not forgotten, and neither have the patriots of this Beloved Nation.
Rest in peace sweet soldier.

God Bless The U.S.A. Words by Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,

From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:

I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A

Thank you Angel so much for reminding us all…..

    2 cups soy sauce
1 cup lemon juice or 1 cup vinegar (try both, they’re different and both rock)
    dash Worcestershire sauce
dash oyster sauce if you’ve got it
    1 cup olive oil
    1 medium onion, diced
add salt, pepper, garlic according to how much you like each of them

Marinate them in a ziploc bag for 1-8 hrs. Take them out, pat them dry and throw on the grill.

boil the marinade that’s left over and add 1/2 cup of brown sugar. It is now an exceptional bbq

  4. Kevin says:

It is now an exceptional bbq sauce for other things on your grill, like veggies and sausage. Don’t use it on the steaks you are cooking though. It will overpower the awesome flavor of a grilled steak.

    Have a great memorial day!

You always say it so perfectly.

  22. Carl says:

I, for one, am thankful for all American troops, both past and present who have served this country. On March 31st, my father-in-law passed away. He was a Marine in the Pacific Theater during World War II and stationed in Guam. He didn’t like to talk about the experiences he had there. At his funeral a Marine honor guard presented my Mother-in-law with the flag that draped his coffin. It was an extremely moving ceremony. So this Memorial Day is a little more poignant for my wife and myself.

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day. I invite you and your readers to my blog to see my Memorial Day tribute.
