Salute to IsraeL 60th Anniversary Parade in NYC!
I bet you guys n dolls know where we were today.
OK. I’ll give ya 3 guesses and the first two don’t count. Heh.
Ah. The Parade.
Central Park.
Aesthetic beauty.
A profound sense of appreciation for America and Israel blowing in the wind all around us.
Seventy nine degrees, sunny with a mild, gentle breeze. Can you say “Perfect”?
Teens singin and rappin. Joy!

The awe inspiring flags–red, white, and blue.
Blue and white.
Catching the sparks off the sequins of the drummers and dancers in the brilliant Sun.
Spying the sparkles off sun-flaked tiaras and the blurred sequins and flags of blue and white waving wildly.
Tapping to the sounds of the French horn, trumpet, trombone..and the gentle beat of the drums.
Kids’ Marching Bands:
Banners, buttons, and boots
Blue and white batons and small marching feet,
Pounding out this glorious rhythm
along 5th Avenue and spilling into the street.

The music, the music.
picking up the merriment,
leaving you standing on the side the road
unknowingly…now holding your own song.
Teaching religion: PEACEFULLY.
Irish Bagpipes: Stunning.
The CHAI Riders!…Woot!!!

Gorgeous Children: (not wearing masks, or keffiahs and NOT holding grenades or shreiking)
A phenomenal celebration of Freedom and Joy.
I couldn’t hold back the tears.

There’s nothing like a Parade down 5th Avenue.
Next year Y’all gotta come on down!!!

Long Live Israel.![]()
God Bless America.

Wednesday Hero: Master Sgt Brendan O’Connor…
There are many unsung heroes these days, and that is the shame this press will have to bear. As for us, we shall continue to bring you true Heroes each Wednesday. Trust me, there are way more than I bring to your attention. They are the heroes…

Beautiful. Absolutely wonderful.
June 1st, 2008 at 10:53 pm
God bless you and Israel.

You guys look like you had a great time! Hey, is the USA the ONLY country that realizes how cool Israel is? The more I read, the more I think that this is so :(.
June 1st, 2008 at 11:24 pm
Looks like you had a ball, nice pics, nice to know you folks have a summer out there too. When i was there a while ago, i was half expecting a couple of Polar bars to saunter past.

Wonderful pictures of a joyous event! I especially liked the pictures of the children — the teacher in me, I guess.
June 2nd, 2008 at 7:26 am
BEAUTIFUL!
beats hell out of all the other “pride” parades - IF you know what i mean!
June 2nd, 2008 at 7:48 am
From your photos, I feel like I did go. Happy B’day, Israel! …hoping for a piece of virtual cake…
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:51 am
What a great event, thanks for sharing Angel. God bless Israel.
June 2nd, 2008 at 10:17 am
It looked great, and so did you and what a beautiful day for a great parade
June 2nd, 2008 at 10:23 am
You look wonderful, Angel! Thanks for the pictures and God Bless Israel!
June 2nd, 2008 at 10:41 am
My general observation, prompted by Rosemary, is that Angel is another of our unsung heroes . . . for the good things she does at this site.
It looks like you had a great day; I enjoyed this post a great deal, and sorry I missed the fun.
Now just imagine . . . teaching religion peacefully. What an interesting idea!
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:11 am
Very nice.
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:35 am
Great pics, Angel, and kudos for going!
Supporting Israel is a MUST!
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:42 am
What a pictoral gallery celebrating Israel!! Love it!
What burdens me, Angel, is the uninformed John Q that doesn’t realize the spiritual implications of our need to support Israel. It isn’t just a ‘need’…it’s a mandate from God that we support and defend Israel.
Woe to those who ignore…
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:53 am
Truly inspiring to see the smiling faces and enthusiasm! My God, lately it seems it is becoming harder and harder to find uplifting, encouraging scenes like this. What a nice change.
And Angel, you are impressively adorned for the occasion. Thanks so kindly for sharing with all of us!
June 2nd, 2008 at 2:43 pm
The difference of when Israeli’s supporters march and Muslim marchers is that you can identify the marchers. There are no covered faces. And you won’t hear any hate speech either.
June 2nd, 2008 at 3:01 pm
awesome. Would love to be there!
June 2nd, 2008 at 3:29 pm
G-d bless Israel! I am happy that our Jewish Communities here in the United States celebrated this day. It is wonderous. You look great girlyfriend! Thanks for sharing your pics with us.
June 2nd, 2008 at 3:55 pm
THANKS SO MUCH Y’ALL FOR THE SWEET SUPPORTIVE INPUTS!!
June 2nd, 2008 at 4:41 pm
Great photos there sister! Thanks for sharing, it’s great to see such pride. You couldn’t have put it any better….”Long Live Israel, God Bless America”.
PS- a little over 2 years ago, myself, the Mrs and another couple went out for a late breakfast in downtown Phoenix, when we were driving on a sidestreet, there were a couple of floats on their way to a parade, they were yelling, honking and asking us to join, we said “Sure”, turns out it was Gay Pride Day in Phoenix……pretty funny. Needless to say, we bailed.

There is no better proof, then the sunshine stamp of approval from the skies above. GODs gift to those who believe in the power of good.
Happy 60’s to the Land of Israel and her people and many many more to her supporters.
And to Angel who brought her own special presence to a very special ocassion.
Am Yisroel Chai!!! (the nation of Israel lives!!!)
June 2nd, 2008 at 6:38 pm
WHAT a wonderful parade……..WHAT a huge difference from some other ‘religions’ we know. How JOYOUS that there is such goodness and SUNSHINE in the world still…even from those who’ve had to fight to find the sun over and over again.
Thanks, pretty girl!! So glad you enjoyed it so much and shared it with us.

That certainly beats the heck out of the typical protest march photography from the left coast that ZombieTime produces. It’s wonderful to see that people still know how to HONOR an idea rather than trash it like the leftists in San Francisco and Berkely do.
Great pictures Angel.
June 2nd, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Oh, and that’s not a knock on ZombieTime… just on the leftists exposed on ZombieTime’s site.
I am really, really glad to see that decency still exists in the big city.
June 2nd, 2008 at 7:57 pm
Od Avinu Chai! Am Yisrael Chai! Let all those who hate us hear our declaration loudly: The nation of Israel lives forever!
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:46 pm
YAY!
June 2nd, 2008 at 9:37 pm
Those are great pictures, Angel. Being in Chicago, I obviously couldn’t be there. But my girlfriend was there and I was there in spirit.
Am yisroel chai!
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:05 pm
Great post, Angel! Someone–Einstein? Twain?–once said that the survival of the Jew proved that God exists. So true! Hail Israel! May Yahweh always bless you and keep you!
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:22 pm
Thanks Angel, this is not something one will see in the MSM. Happy 60′th Israel!
June 3rd, 2008 at 11:36 am
Wonderful pics and celebration.
June 3rd, 2008 at 2:17 pm
Oh, that’s just great! Indeed, there was no coverage of this in the media. It’s good to see the GOOD that really is out there. It’s sad that one has to look so hard to find it sometimes.
June 3rd, 2008 at 3:31 pm
and a good time was had by all - great scrapbook post, thanks angel!!!
June 3rd, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Looks like you had a blast! Thanks for all the pictures. Wish we could have been there.
