AndrogynY in FashioN

Marc Jacobs, Salvatore Ferragamo, Givenchy and Alexander McQueen may to get their bi-focals adjusted.

Apparently, they can’t tell the genders apart anymore.

Andro: meaning male. Gyn: meaning female. Which is which?

Make no mistake. We are not addressing those born with both male and female gen-itals. We are calling out those that state there is such a thing as psychological androgyny.
How cool to combine both masculinity and femininity as traits of some unified, mutated gender eh?

When women began to flood the workforce, “borrowin from da boys” was routine.

Manly power suits were all the rage.

Clothes were meant to project a somewhat austere and certainly- professional image.

No frills or flowing hair. Dress shirts, blazers, and even wide-legged pants became the norm. Some women even pulled back their hair back in a bun, and saved the matching scarves and bags for nighttime.

But alas……… “handsome girls” weren’t enough.

Not only did women discard the professional look for bearing cl-eavage at work, donning str-ipper stilletoes and baring midriffs— Men have to now be “pretty boys”.

Androgyny in fashion is no mere “trend” my friends. It is a profound social phenomenon.

Remember Boy George, David Bowie, and Prince? The epitome of sexual ambiguity. Howzabout Michael Jackson who personifies androgyny with his high pitched, falsetto voice and effeminate ways.

Needless to say, the lefties and Hollyweird bozos insist their female stars perform equally well in all the exciting moves and dangerous stunts as their male counterparts…provided they dress scantily and sluttify themselves while they’re punchin out the mean guys, of course.

The underlying and not so subtle aim is to blur and haze the line between men and womens’wear, thus blurring the line between men and women period.

After all, the kool aid drinkers will tell ya there are no distinct masculine or feminine traits or attributes to begin with, right?

Prancin around half nekked is “empowering” for women?

That’s called elevating women’s status in male-oriented societies? Ha.
Softening the image of men? How has that helped the relations between men and women?

Here’s the charming result:

-Lower childbirth rates because “working” women tend to delay marriage, (if they marry at all) or wayyy past their prime for childbearing.

-A higher divorce rate due to so many factors. Marriages literally collapsing because both “working” parents can’t be bothered to spend enough time together or with their children.

-An astronomical increase of unmarried people as more and singles enjoy their financial independence and supposed “freedom.” Uh huh.

“Family unit erosion” for the Libs? No problemo. Who needs a traditional family unit when you got the gummint right?

But, while they feverishly attempt to alter the perception of human nature, some of us know that God in His infinite wisdom, created human nature as consisting of opposite sex roles which ultimately unify- as two complimentary roles in the sanctity of marriage.

It’s all part of their spiffy lil global plan for our Universe.
Borders should disappear, Cultures (irrespective of their “lack of culture”) should blend, blend, blend..and markets all over the world should merge, merge, merge.

Inna meantime…The gay ahem..”liberation” movement pounced on the idea of androgyny. Sure, it gives les-bians and ho-mose-xual men a once in a life time opportunity to display their so-called “gender characteristics” openly in society. No political agenda eh?

We are all one.

Despots? Jeehadis? Illegal, criminal immigrants?

  2. Perri Nelson says:

Well. I won’t be joining the gender confused set anytime soon.

Nor will I be Drivin’ a truck with my high heels on as Weird Al would have it.

  3. no.apology says:

    To borrow a line…Good Grief!

I almost threw up on my new skirt, uh, shirt, yeah shirt.

I’m glad to say that out here on the high plains, girls still know they’re girls, and guys know they’re guys, and they dress, and act, accordingly.

No wonder the models are slippin’ and fallin’ on the fashion walks. Guess they should get out the old power washer between sets, huh?

Thanks for the heads-up on this, Angel.

    Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I’m glad I am old enough to have missed adopting these “trends”. Long live my leather boots, denim and comfortable, plain cotton t-shirts. And dresses, heels, gentle make-up and looooong, flowing, beautiful hair on the ladies. (Just think, someday memories of these will only be found in history books… that have not been re-written by the Pelosi’s of our world.)

  5. Katie says:

I wish I could walk outside topless. But I’d blind half the neighborhood doing so and get myself arrested.

It is a shame. So much for equal rights.

  6. Nikki says:

Tell me about it! I just had to explain to my son, in the Wal-mart check out line no less, how it is a man had a baby…he isn’t a man, well he used to be a woman, now he is a man but with women parts that allow for baby cooking…oi seriously wtf. :)N

  7. KKarLlmM says:

The truth is, it is just a plot to shorten the lines outside the ladies bathrooms at shows, arenas and sport stadiums.
One day its gender discrimination the next day its equality, i guess i have at least a hundred years till they all make up their minds, till then give me a little Helen Reddy and “I am Women”…just like GOD and Mother Nature intended it to be…one of each!!!!!

  8. Kevin says:

Wait, does this mean I have to give up my pink shorts? Not likely. I’d rather give up my mascara and blush!

    (j/k:))

  9. Former Belgian says:

Well, what is the sexual identity of the vast majority of male fashion designers? Right, a word that used to mean “happy”.

They want their female models and their male models to both look like… “bottom” men.

  10. MK says:

What the hell is that up that top that those men are wearing, they look like a couple of wankers. Is this crap for real, do men actually wear that? Good grief!!

  11. Aurora says:

Yeah, I’ve seen this garbage floating around. The truth is, girls have always dressed up in their boyfriend’s sweatshirt, but it’s not often you get your typical male wanting to put on his gf’s cute little sweater. I really doubt the bizarre fashions from the cutting edge loony-tunes will ever take off. Guys are just way too practical for that. The metrosexual thing fell flat on its butt as well. Ya gotta shake your head at their efforts to make us all into humanoid machines though.

  12. benning says:

Is this what’s in store for humanity? Yeesh!

Metrosexuals and manly women. Heaven help us!

  13. Gayle says:

HOLY COW!!!! I’m glad I don’t eat while I’m at the pc. This is totally sickening!

If my husband ever thought of putting on anything like that I’d get him to a psychiatrist…. fast!

I don’t think this is going to go over very well in Texas.

  14. Joe Gringo says:

Hollywood, the fashion community are freakin’ warped!

The 2nd photo with the 3 she-males, just what in the hell is that first gal wearing???

Comedian David Spade said this the other day……”being normal in Hollywood is considered somewhat exotic…..it’s the only way I can get a girl”.

  15. Joe Gringo says:

    actually…all 3 of them?

    wow

  16. Debbie says:

I have one question: WHAT KIND OF WOMAN IS GOING TO MARRY A MAN DRESSED LIKE A WOMAN??? Think about it. No real woman I know would marry a sissy-dressed male. We want REAL MEN. Manly men.

  17. EDGE says:

    EDGE: 100% Pure All-American Man!

    ;)

  18. Amboy says:

The runway aspect of the fashion industry appeals only to industry elites anyway. Boys will be boys.

  19. Layla says:

Fashion? Pfffffffffffft! They all need to run down that runway right off the end of it into nothingness. UGH!

  20. Jack says:

    I don’t get it.

  21. Z says:

Remember how odd and discussed the clothes in the film ANNIE HALL was? WOMEN in TIES?

    They’re still wearing them.

  22. JMK says:

    Another great post!

Right on the mark. NOTHING occurs by happenstance. Not the sexualizing of children, not the feminizing of society and not the emasculation of a generation.

The sad part is the results are almost certainly NOT going to be what the planners hoped for….they almost never are.

  23. Uncle Joe says:

Timely post, Angel. It’s to the point that the U.S. House of Representatives recently held a “transgender job bias” hearing.

Family unit erosion, borderless borders, homogeneous “blended” cultures and assimilated sexuality … welcome to the future… No thanks …

  25. Voice of Reason says:

For all those of you who talk about these people. Have you dared ever tried talking to one? Too scared? To find an evidence bearing truth to all this strangeness? I must admit that they are very strange, and I’d probably never want to watch them do their thing. However, it is foolish and childlike to assume so much about people you know little about when commenting about them. I’ve studied biology, psychiatry, evolutionary theory, a bit into theology, and I’ve come to the conclusion that people don’t think on a grand scale. They say without knowing exactly why they would say these things to satisfy a general lack of understanding a lack of care for other human beings. A gross lack of knowledge. Biology gives us only 2 prominent sexes; male and female. However people are not all the same and yet made up of the same things, and somehow we look different? Most of the time? Unless your inbreeding. (Let’s keep the incest to a minimum or none at all please). We all have similiar and different levels of hormones in us which gives us certain “sex” characteristics. Gender is the behavior expressions “typically” found in respective sexes. How ever we are able to change to grow to form slightly different giving us different characteristics. There is no such thing as a 3rd sex in humans as we know. But through enviromental intakes into the bodies or through genetic mutations (Neutral) that can develop babies or adults into a sliding into a closer mix of sex characteristics a.k.a. pseudo-hermaphdrotites. Meaning we’ve (as a world collected knowledge) never documented a true human hermaphrodite because it’s improbable in genetic mutations even. Although it is possible. The point is that humans can be “masculine men” or “feminine women” or a less occuring mix of hormonal sex charecteristics which reflects subtle changes in their behaviors we call gender behaviors. I was born as one like that. I’m mostly male but exhibit a very feminine sex development with under-developed male sex organs (ha ha on me… grow up…). That’s nature.. if God wanted there to be only masculine men and feminine women the rest of the people would never come to flourish. Get into biology. Learn what you can get evidence to, and don’t assume so much you know little about. Erase predjudice and ignorance simply by trying to do the best you can for your beliefs and for the world around without killing and murdering or outcasting those you disagree with.

  26. kiranna says:

am I the only one vaguely offended by this post? Androgyny in fashion isn’t necessarily about ‘making’ men more feminine or women more masculine and ruining the ’sanctity’ of marriage. It is just be another form of expression for those who don’t adhere strictly to gender norms. It doesn’t mean you ‘must’ dress more like a girl or guy or in-between but that you CAN. There’s always been this assumption that our strict gender binaries are somehow natural, when in fact they are very much manufactured by our society rather than strictly inherent in our biological bodies.

  27. Voice of Reason says:

I agree full heartedily with you Kirrana.
