Spent the day shoe shoppin wif one of mah girls yesterday.

You dudes do not know how luck yar.rotfl.gif

Fashion houses need not concern themselves with comfort or even wear and tear for womens’ shoes.
I know I know. Womens’ fashion is hardly about “function” eh.daydream.gif

The women around me could hardly wait to snatch ‘em up and go out n pound the pavement.
Indeed. Tis all bout bein avant garde girls.

If the Croc or the Ugg can become an epidemic, what next? showoffani3.gif

Oh right. macabre spiked stilletoes of course. Our equivalent of Chinese foot binding. Only the women do it voluntarily.

These um..”shoes” serve no other purpose other than tryin to broadcast yer s-exiness quotient by how high off the ground you can tilt without actually fallin over.

Or outrageously unwearable gladiator viking.gif sandals.

Dontcha miss the Roman Collesium. I know I do. And those uber affordable prices can’t be beat. $199.

It’s been said: “It is the flagrant lack of practicality that makes high heel shoes so fascinating.”

Well, some of us still prize comfort over style. And silly me, I actually prefer bein somewhat close to terra firma if you catch my meanin.

The comfortable selection:

Do these meet my criteria for attractiveness? Hmmm.

Aw now take a gander at the mens’s selection:

Notice a difference?

That’s right fellaz. Ask jus about any woman what her favorite thing to shop for is…bet she won’t say groceries. Let’s be honest. Shoes are like wearin a work of Art.

Take these for example:

Think I may wait a decade or so for my next shoe shopping expedition. Maybe somethin fashionable and just a tad functional will come back in style. Ya think? i-dont-know.gif

Guess I aint the tough shoe-buying machine I thought I was.

Ready for a 5k run anyone?run44ani.gif

Shopping tip: You can get shoes for 85 cents at the bowling alley.

    Shoes? Who’d a thought! :) I still love my five inch high heels!!! I won’t give’em up, but I won’t wear’em either! LOL! :p

  2. The Griper says:

mmm. what piece of women’s clothing is not about sex? it isn’t just shoes.

  3. Debbie says:

I like to look feminine, but I also like comfort. If I have to choose, comfort wins. Boy Angel some of those shoes are UGLY.

  4. David says:

The most obscene thing I’ve seen in months (and I believe I see my fair share while out n about) was just yesterday as my Wonder Woman and I made a jaunt to the Post Office. Walking ahead of us was a young matron with shoes that were a torturer’s delight, and right beside her was her six-year-old (or thereabouts) daughter wearing HIGH HEELS and “sexy” (not on a six-year-old, unless to pedophiles) outfit.

Wanted to walk on up to mama and slap her silly, except that she’d already progressed far, FAR beyond merely silly to have done such a thing with so young a girl.

  5. Katie says:

Try my problem. Big, wide feet. They don’t make shoes for me.

    Stuck with sneakers and flip-flops.

  6. Perri Nelson says:

A single pair of moccasins work quite well for me. I bought some last summer while I was in Tennessee (actually on the Cherokee reservation in North Carolina… but what’s an hours drive or so?), and they’re the only shoes I’ve wanted to wear since.

I only wear heavier shoes when I’m doing heavy work and might drop something on my feet.

As for sexy shoes on women, in my personal opinion, not much beats knee high leather boots. But that’s just my opinion, and I think a woman looks a lot better when she’s comfortable than when she’s not. Who wants to look at a face all screwed up in pain anyway?

  7. Jungle Mom says:

I love shoes, but can no longer wear such a high heel. Thank goodness for wedges.

  8. Z says:

I am a woman who hates to shop! Imagine?
Though I’m sure I’m not as alone as I think…
I used to giggle when I saw Miss America in bathing suits with high heels…till I put on high heels with a bathing suit on, not too long ago, for the first time, and thought “Oh, ya…THAT’s BETTER!!”

Never underestimate a high heeled shoe, right!?? Ask Joan Crawford!xx

  9. Nikki says:

I have to admit I am a shoe whore…for real. I have way too many shoes and I can always think of a pair that I “need”. I love to shoe shop. I have seen the gladiators on some of the younger girls…we wore them in the 80′s when I was in high school. obviously I should have kept them, but they seem so ugly to me now. Hopefully they will be OUT soon! fun post for the shoe peeps! :) N

  10. Carl says:

As a guy with very flat feet, about the only brand of shoes I can find that fit me more often than not are New Balance.

  11. Wingless says:

    Err…Um…Ahhhh…I wear sandles?
I better just steer clear of this one…
I already took enough heat for asking my girlfriend why her shoes required their own room…

    I’m shutting up now…Dialtone…Beeeeep.

  12. Aurora says:

I gotta admit I got a shoe in just about every color. But some of those on your post are really wild, Angel! My criteria? I have to be able to walk in them…well, at least from the subway to the office.

  13. Don L says:

Speaking of sexy shoes Angel, How come you neglected to show us a few shots of those articles of footwear that sets a man’s pulse throbbing – camo boots!

  14. Brooke says:

Those red toe-and-heel things look horrific!

Now, those spring-heeled tennis shoes look pretty cool. I might hafta get a pair of those! :)

    Glad you had fun shopping!

  15. cube says:

I’m wearing flip flops at the moment, but my shoe of choice has to be a worn-in pair of sneakers. Ahhhh.

  16. Gayle says:

Funny you should bring this up, Angel. I just recently cut my nails off. I grew them out just to see if they would grow without peeling or breaking and they sure did. I can’t see why women want long nails either. They cripple me to where I can’t even open anything. Why is it that everything that is supposed to make a woman sexy involves either pain, impractibility, or both? Sheesh!

I’d like to see a picture of the shoes you purchased. I’ll bet they are attractive and functional and it took forever to find them!

  17. John says:

Are any of the feet in those pictures your feet? HA!

  18. OMMAG says:

I was hoping that you’d be modeling your purchases…… but the ones you posted were good for a laugh !

  19. Layla says:

Hey Angel I thought of something! How about moccasins? They really are comfortable. :)

  20. Dragon Lady's Den says:

    Who’s McCain?…

I saw this cartoon which I snagged from Ken and simply had to post it:…

  21. Joe Gringo says:

sleek high heels are sexy, but man, those plastic looking clog things with holes in them are pretty ugly…..IMO :-)

  22. Always On Watch says:

Because of the car accident I had three years ago, my docs have ordered, “No high heels.” I miss ‘em!

What I’d like to say: some Crusader shoes. ;)

  23. Defiant_Infidel says:

One of my nicknames for my wife is “Imelda”… I imagine you can take the ball and run with it from there. I never understood this attachment to shoes of a billion different types. But I guess I am not supposed to.

I call ‘em “hoof protectors” and cannot be more at home than when I have on my black leather engineer boots. I adore women and thank the good Lord that I was born a man… life appears far too complicated (to me) for women.

Have a premium weekend, Hot Rod! ;)

  24. In_spired says:

Comfort before fashion…my motto at 68. But this does give me a *posting idea*….my closet that is overrun with S.H.O.E.S! Only on very special, dress-up occasions do I wear slim, high heels.

When you least expect it….”a shoe post on For Love of Home”!!

Very entertaining post, Angel!! Have a great week-end…

  25. Angel says:

Have a fabulous weekend all!! ;)

  26. Jason says:

Angel, you are just that – an angel.

  27. Incognito says:

Holy cow, some of those shoes..

I will never forget once, seeing a woman in Disneyland, many years ago, wearing heals as high as some of those posted.

    Ah vanity…

  28. The Hill Chronicles says:

    Conservative Liberal vs A Conservative…

Too many in the blogosphere that call themselves conservatives are conservative liberals.  The bloggers that will fight Israel and the United States and decry the Western Civilization hangs in the balance.  All true, but it is not the fight y…

  29. DD2 says:

I resent than men’s selection that you have shown….!
Why not show some Bruno magli, or Kenneth Cole’s or Gucci, or Prada men’s,or Johnston and Murphy,
Instead you show shoes made for lumber jacks!

  30. Otto - American Interests says:

Not all those shoes were kind on the eye. What I like on a woman? Something feminine of course, but comfortable too. There is a certain sexyness to a combination of comfort and femininity in fashion.

  31. Layla says:

    Have a great weekend hun!

  32. KkarLmM says:

Wow, the array of responses in regard to the shoe…
i can not wait for the expose on the “pony tail holder”…
give em what they want , and they will always come back for more.

  33. EDGE says:

Yep, I just don’t get the whole shoe thing and girls, although I did buy some new ones for me yesterday when I bought a new suit! ;)

Oh, thanks for your e-card! :)

  34. Uncle Joe says:

A third of your life is spent in bed and most of the rest is spent in shoes. Please make sure both are comfortable. My youngest daughter has a thing for shoes and has since she was very young. I have never understood the fascination but it is cute. She would rather go to a shoe store than a toy store when she was little. :)

  35. Don L says:

Women Shop while men invade another country?

Yep -there are more shoe stores in malls than there are gun stores.

  36. PT gal says:

I have to say that i love shoes! flats, wedges, heels, stilettoes, boots, u name it…but at the end of the day a pair of flip flops -rain or shine – wins out for sure!
    nothing beats comfort!

  37. Erotikshop says:

Thanks for writing this great blogposting. I actually such as the style which you use to create about points. It was really informative and I would like to many thanks you for thaking the time to compose about this. A lot of individuals would clarify this stuff so much more complicated, but along with your statements I really realize now every thing. I’m sure I’ll examine back again your site and my rss reader will like your stuff too.
