An American Carol: HollywooD TakeS on the Left

Zucker’s latest movie, An American Carol, is unlike anything that has ever come out of Hollywood.

It is a frontal attack on the excesses of the American left from several prominent members of a growing class of Hollywood conservatives.

Until now, conservatives in Hollywood have always been too few and too worried about a backlash to do anything serious to challenge the left-wing status quo.

The first assistant director breaks the silence.

The set jumps to life. Two young men–both terrorists–enter the station. They are surprised to see a security checkpoint manned by two NYPD officers. “I’ll need to see your bag, please,” says one of the officers. The lead terrorist glances nervously at his friend and swings his backpack down from his shoulder to present it to the cops. Just as the officer pulls on the zipper, however, a small army of ACLU lawyers
marches up to the policemen with a stop-search order. The cops look at each other and shrug their shoulders. “This says we can’t search their bags.”

The young men are relieved. They smile fiendishly as they walk toward the crowded platform. As the lead terrorist once again slips the backpack over his shoulder, he mutters his appreciation.

“Thank Allah for the ACLU.”

Hollywood Takes on the Left

Zucker was still nominally a Democrat when George W. Bush was elected in 2000. “Then 9/11 happened, and I couldn’t take it anymore,” he says. “The response to 9/11–the right was saying this is pure evil we’re facing and the left was saying how are we at fault for this? I think I’d just had enough. And I said ‘I quit.’”

The holiday in An American Carol is not Christmas and the antagonist is not Ebenezer Scrooge. Instead, the film follows the exploits of a slovenly, anti-American filmmaker named Michael Malone, who has joined with a left-wing activist group ( to ban the Fourth of July.

“This will not be hard to find in Hollywood,” says one. “They all hate America.”

The entire film is an extended rebuttal to the vacuous antiwar slogan that
“War Is Not the Answer.” Zucker’s response, in effect: “It Depends on the Question.”

Booyah David Zucker!!

Anyone ready for movie night? You come..I’ll supply the popcorn.
Buttered, with toffee or chocolate covered.

Let’s go see this flick: en masse.

How feeble that Hollywood stars and starlets see their role as political spokespersons to begin with.

When they’re not getting their next botox fix, or throwing up their last meal, they are out in full form trashing G.W.B. & Co.
Not trashing Sadaam Hussein.
Not trashing Osama bin Laden.
Not trashing Achmadinjeehad.

Not even trashing Hugo Chavez.

For a deplorably large number of Hollywood self proclaimed elitists, the reality of life in a repressive dictatorship is totally lost on them.

That’s why Hussein Obama can be so enamoured of Hugo Chavez, who among Hollywood types, can cast himself as a man of the people and laughably, even a friend of democracy.

Congressional Democrats, who ally themselves with the Lefty Hollywood America haters are the ones who are holding the Congress and therefore our entire nation hostage, by supporting their own anti-family, anti morality and anti anything that smacks of “Judeo-Christian values” agendas.

That society reveres them so much is preposterous.

These affluent, Limo koolaid drinkin Lefties, because of their priviledged circumstances, can’t see the world through the same lenses as us plebians.
They display disdain and complete intolerance for conservatives, even their fellow actors.

Their idea of the ultimate obscenity is saying our President’s name.

Heaven help you if you refuse to walk in lockstep with the rest of the industry.

Well, David Zucker.
Fear not.

We know Hollywood is a facist left-wing business that does not tolerate dissent.

How many times has an actor or actress, who didn’t tow the party line been told: You’re simply “not what we were looking for …You’re just not right for the part”.

Sure, your’e not: They were looking for a bleeding heart liberal.

But, but, but, Artists are all ’bout freedom of expression and pushing boundaries right? Ha.

No doubt the truth and facts, as you portray them Mr. Zucker, and the laughs at the expense of our sworn enemies…will send the lefty, military-bashing, kaffiah wearing actors twits scurrying back to their limos.

And not a moment too soon.

“We know Hollywood is a facist left-wing business that does not tolerate dissent.”

You mean it REALLY ISN’T a Zionist stronghold, a weapon in the OBVIOUS Jewish Conspiracy to take over the World!

It is nice to see the conservatives coming out of hiding! At very least it’s a sign that Hollywood isn’t the homogeneous, “one minded” (aka NO-minded) orgy that it has seemed to have become.

Great work Angel, and thanks for visiting & posting at our blog… power-to-fight-the-power!

  3. Z says:

This is GREAT! I gave Myrna Sokolov a ride to a David Horowitz event at which Laura Ingraham spoke about six months ago and Myrna produced this WITH Zucker and was telling us about it in the car. The friend I did the favor for in giving Myrna a ride told me last week the film opens Oct 3 but she didn’t tell me the title. THIS IS IT! Thanks, Angel!

WE HAVE TO GET THE WORD OUT AND GO SEEEEEE THIS FILM! THIS is our chance to show Hollywood we want CONSERVATIVE FILMS, too!

    PLEASE, everyone…go see it.

AND the FRIENDS OF ABE which Grammar and Gary Cenise, Patricia Heaton, etc., started is now about TWO THOUSAND strong..all Hollywood actors, producers, grips, etc..growing by the day …. Something’s starting to change in Hollywood. I hope it’s not too late.

Heard about this one, definitely one to watch out for. I saw Moore hates America recently, what a tool he is. And to think so many like a slimeball like him.

“Let’s go see this flick: en masse”

I’m with you, Angel. Now if I can just round up a mass of Conservatives in Australia and if we can get that film out here! I wonder if the movie houses would even consider showing it. They’re probably run by lefties too!

  7. Kevin says:

Even if this movie turns out to be badly written, or not funny, or just dumb, we’re going to see it twice :) .

  8. DD2 says:

“Until now, conservatives in Hollywood have always been too few and too worried about a backlash to do anything serious to challenge the left-wing status quo. ”

  9. Gayle says:

I normally don’t go to movie theaters, Angel. I rent my movies from Net Flix, but I am going to make an exception for this movie. It sounds wonderful! :)

Off topic: I am going to do a trackback to your “Confiscte ALL Korans FirsT DudeS” post.

  10. Brooke says:

I cannot wait to see this; it is not often with three small children that I get to go out to the theatre, but I’m making an effort for this one!

For those Hollywood lefties that whine about “a chill wind blowing” and how they are oppressed, they are the very model of fascism.

From this source, a quote regarding Voight:

But you’d think an arch conservative working in an overwhelmingly liberal town would think about restraining himself for expediency’s sake, if nothing else.

So they admit their repression and blacklisting of conservatives?

Damn that pesky little First Amendment, huh?

  11. Dinah Lord says:

Another one who wouldn’t go to the movies if you paid me.

I’ll pay to see this one! And en masse would be fun!

  20. rachel carney says:

The Left has become the new McCarthyists.

That’s why these men having been in the shadows for so long. I’m glad they have finally come into the light to show themselves to be patriots. As Kobe Bryant so eloquently said during the Olympics…..this is the greatest nation on earth and he feels honored to represent us. And we should all be proud to be Americans. I know I am!
