I like the Pussycat Dolls. Then again, I’m a consenting adult who likes their songs and don’t feel the need to dress like them. Which is a good thing, because I would hate to horrify anyone with the thought or sight of me in lingerie! :-D

Seriously, though, they have a song called “Don’t Cha”, where the main lyric is “Don’t Cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me, Don’t Cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me?” They also have a song called “Buttons”, whereby they’re talking about loosening buttons on her shirt. I’m no prude, and I actually like the songs because they have a good beat. But (a) my kids will never listen to them or see the videos, and (b) I don’t buy their records, since I hear them ad nauseum on XM radio!

In other words, I’m glad the dolls are being pulled. Not exactly role models for young girls, IMHO…

Thank goodness. By the way, there’s a great magazine out there called American Girl that is written for girls, not skanks. It’s all all kinds of fun activities and suggestions for dealing with friends, teachers, parents, but NOT boyfriends. My little pumpkin is under 10. She needs things for girls under 10, not Pussycat Doll toys.

It’s that time of the week again, Tuesday trackback fun! What’s the buzz this week? Bring your best on over!…

    Neat post Angel! :)

  9. Always On Watch says:

I’m with Brooke on this one.

The innocence of little girls should be protected as long as possible. Too often, we force them to grow up too soon.

Why cancel the order. What is so hard to put some clothes on?

  12. Gayle says:

Yay! Small victories add up to large victories. Good work, Angel. :)

When I was a little girl dolls were cute and cherubic-looking. They didn’t look like prostitutes. I’m glad they pulled the plans for this.

that’s a shame. it’s like the more immoral you are the more people love and praise your work. now we are going to have young firls growing up thinking they need to become like a pussycat doll be popular.

I can’t imagine walking down the toy aisle and seeing the pussycat dolls-literally. Disgusting. Bring on the cabbage patch kids. The last thing I’d want my little innocent girlies to play with is some half-dressed-on purpose-doll.
