Sarah Palin Effigy

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR NEW POSTS..THANKS!

Neighbors of a West Hollywood resident who hung an effigy of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin from a noose in front of his house tried to cover up the display this morning in protest, authorities said.

ChadMichael Morrisette, a professional window display designer, said he set up the life-size mannequin of Palin in front of his house three weeks ago. He said he wanted to insert politics into his Halloween decorating since the holiday comes four days before the presidential election.

Offensive as it may be, the Palin doll — outfitted with beehive wig, glasses and a vintage Neiman Marcus red coat dress — appears to violate no law, said officials of the Secret Service, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the West Hollywood city code enforcement division.

“The sheriff made this clear: This is a country that has freedom of speech, and we protect that right even when we think it’s idiotic and stupid and in bad taste,” Whitmore said.

If it is nonviolent and doesn’t cause any problems, then they have the right to do it.”

At the county Board of Supervisors’ meeting Tuesday, Supervisor Michael Antonovich directed county counsel to investigate whether the Palin effigy constitutes a hate crime.

West Hollywood residents try to cover up neighbor’s Sarah Palin effigy

“Why is that not considered a hate crime? If there was an African American hanging from a tree, would that not constitute a hate crime?” Antonovich said, adding that the county definition of hate crimes includes “political affiliation.”

What’s being called a Halloween “decoration” displays a mannequin dressed as Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin ………….hanging from a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home, while John McCain burns on the roof.

Hanging an effigy is nothing other than calling for the death of that person.
And we all know it.

This is beyond the pale.
But clearly not for Democrats or Liberals.

The Age of Aquarius and “anything goes Permissiveness”, has been thriving since the mid-1960s.
The Leftards with the aid of the media continue to carry the message, “Anything Goes.”

No responsibility or accountability for actions by either individuals, let alone government.
Yet we are taken aback by the vicious attacks against Gov.Sarah Palin?

The only bolt from the blue is that these self proclaimed Hollywood “artists” haven’t yet attempted to actualize the sentiments embodied by this abominable effigy.

But, it’s legal, they shriek.
Legal but “inapproriate” they say?
There are no “shades of inappropriateness” for something this vile.

Speaking of free speech………….
Publishing Muha-MAD cartoons is somehow NOT protected by free speech or clearly too “dangerous” to attempt.

Flushing a Kooran down the toilet is somehow NOT protected by free speech or clearly too “dangerous” to attempt eh.

Using the word NIGGER is clearly not protected by free speech, or clearly too “dangerous” to attempt..by a white guy, that is.

But Blatant anti semitic, anti Israel sentiments or twisted, perverse misogynism is clearly protected by free speech, because clearly, they’re not too “dangerous” to attempt.

After all, women and Jews don’t riot en masse, turn over cars, or burn things when they are offended.

Double standard would be a masterpiece of understatement for this horror.

So let us not kid ourselves liberals of WeHo.

This isn’t bout speech at all.
It’s about not having to fear the repercussions of your heinous act.

The ahem..”artists”:

Why hasn’t Hussein Obama commented about how as a black man this offends him.
Oh never mind. If there was Obama hangin by a noose, blacks would have vandalized the property by now and torn the “display” to shreds or burnt it down.
And if they didn’t, you can bet Al Sharptongue would have threatened to.

The Dhimmi-craps and their paid off judges have created two Americas.
One, in which they can say or display ANYTHING, and it’s called “protected speech”.

The other is where Christians, Conservatives, or Republicans are charged with hate-speech anytime they say anything the Leftards disagree with.

Remember guys n dolls. Repeat after me:
It’s only a hate crime if it offends Moslems, blacks or gays.
Got it?

By the way:
How DO you explain this “Halloween display” to Kids huh?

Y’all can vote for this article HERE Thanks!:)

    From today’s LA Times:
Sheriff Dept. Spokesman Whitmore said that potential hate crimes are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If the same display had been made of a Barack Obama-like doll, for example, authorities would have to evaluate it independently, Whitmore said.

“That adds a whole other social, historical hate aspect to the display, and that is embedded in the consciousness of the country,” he said, adding he’s not sure whether it would be a hate crime. “It would be ill-advised of anybody to speculate on that.”

The home’s decorations also feature a doll of John McCain surrounded by decorative flames in the chimney.

What do you think the reaction would have been if it was an Obama effigy? There would be riots and protests.

  7. Perri Nelson says:

Obama HAS been hung in effigy at least once on a college campus. While there was some stir about it, I don’t think that it ended up with calls for hate crime investigations.

  8. Perri Nelson says:

He has also been hung in effigy from a tree in Ohio.

  9. Maggie Thornton says:

RCP: I heard (actually saw it on Fox) that Obama was hung in effigy today. Now it’s all equal :-) the man doing it was upset at Obama’s military stance.

Angel, I wish I would stop saying: I love your graphics.

Just makes me sick. Not a hate crime? But if you remember the Jena 6 was was brought on because of empty nooses in a tree, which was called a hate crime. Where’s the NAACP? Why isn’t Al Sharpton out infront of that house demanding the removal of that display and the jobs of those bozos? Oh, that’s right, the mannequin is the wrong color.

I think most people who were born in the last few decades or before would be able to smell the foul stench of hypocrisy on this. You are quite right, if it were an effigy of Obama hanging there they wouldn’t sit still and dismiss it as free speech. Leftists do this all the time, note what they constantly do to Bush.

I just hope enough people see the double-standards and hypocrisy and vote accordingly, if they don’t, i can see folks from the other side putting up effigies of Obama then. If it’s just ‘free speech’ then i guess it’ll have to be no matter how inappropriate or offensive.

Nice post Angel, keep up the good work.

One thing we may be overlooking is that if Obama himself had done it they wouldn’t care. Anyone who loved America, free speech, fair play, or had any core values and decency could not, would not, never, ever vote for the racist, socialist, Obama.

But his supporters do not care. They want the redistribution of wealth, they want to tear down America (remember Rev. Wright and God Damn America?), and they hate their superiors. They hate the good people who work, pay their taxes, and are honest. All the things Obama supporters could never be. This is class, race, and envy war. It is not a democratic election.

is a go, and it is protected by my government..GOD bless America, what a fantastic country….and soon, who know with the help of Lefty Liberals, i may be allowed to marry my dog!!!!!

  16. Debbie says:

Someone did the same thing with an Obama look alike. Oh my, that’s racist, that’s terrible. In Tennessee a Black family hung a white person by noose in their front yard… that’s OK, it’s just a white person. What is this place coming to Angel?

Like most people, I’m shaking my head.

And while we’re all doing that, Obama and his henchmen are quietly subverting American law by collected tens of millions of dollars illegally and have implemented “get out the vote” campaigns from of all places, Palestine. Revealed today, the Obama campaign disabled a security widget, which allows credit card donors to contribute money without an accompanying name and address, and the use of pre-paid (non-attribution) bankcards. Can anyone explain why federal authorities aren’t all over this? Can anyone explain why federal agents intend to “ignore voter fraud” this year?

But then again, if that were me and they were doing that to my Mom, I’d be turned off the liberal movement for life.

  25. Layla says:

I did not write on this yesterday. I am so sickened by it all and it has gone on for two years thanks to Hillary and Obama coming out with their campaigns way too early, which I believe allowed for this and many unnecessary insults, hate crimes, lies, falsities and other absurdities. This country has gone to hell and I pray McCain/Palin will win and we will take our nation back from the devils out there trying so hard to destroy us and the USA. God help us and pray Psalm 27 as Sarah Palin has requested we do via email-via a mass email I received from a friend.

God help us and bless America on Nov. 4 and every day we continue to be sovereign nation.

  38. Incognito says:

Unbelievable.. or not.. typical liberal hypocrisy. hanging ANYONE from a noose should be a hate crime.. it’s inciting violence against that person. Some wackjob might see that and think it’s his/her mission in life to do away with Palin.

and you bet, had it been an effigy of Obama it would be gone.

    Truly despicable..

  39. Perri Nelson says:

Sometimes I wonder about conservatives, even while I consider myself to be one. The outrage over this hanging of Sarah Palin in effigy is understandable, but the claims that if it were Obama we’d be hearing about hate crimes are over the top.

Why do I say that? Because, as I noted earlier, Obama has been hung in effigy. TWICE. And you know what? It’s been mentioned in the news and then the issue has gone away.

This is NOT a hate crime in any case, nor is it “unAmerican”. People have been hung in effigy in American politics since before the Revolution. It’s nothing more than an offensive form of political speech.

I’m not condoning any of this, but It’s not really that big of an issue. We don’t need to be focusing on what some liberal whack-jobs do, or what some equally whacked-out conservatives have done. We need to focus on the issues that matter in the campaign.

It’s Obama’s politics that we need to examine, expose, and defeat. It’s Sarah Palin’s values that we need to examine, expose, and support. What’s more important to us anyway, the outrageous behavior of extremists, or the effects the election will have on the direction our nation is going to take?

    Get a grip people.

  42. Randy says:

I must admit I have conflicted feelings over this “art”. I am personally offended, but frankly don’t see a “hate crime”. Some young men were trying to be funny or trying to send a political statement. I would feel the same way (in general) about a similar display against Sen. Obama.

However, there is a line to be drawn. Take for example, the two from Tennessee that threatened the Senator. Self described white supremacists and neo-nazis, they actually intended harm.

Take for example, a scene played out all too often, a noose hung in a tree outside the house of an African-American. It’s plain and simple terrorism.

The Palin-in-effigy display was never intended to terrorize, only to make a statement. So where does the line between (bad) art and terror lie? I frankly don’t know.

I do know that I am very reluctant to endorse “hate crimes”, where the intent of the accused is brought into question.

Hey, Angel! What is that thingy-ma-bob called that used to be carved out of wood; a handle with two arms; piece of leather strip tied to each arm with rubber. A stone would be placed in the center of the leather strip and then stretched as far as the rubber would go; and then WHAM! That stone would fly out of there like a gun shot. If you had good aim, you could hunt rabbits, shoot out street lamps….or…..anything else. I’ve heard it called a sling shot but that can’t be right…that’s how David killed Goliath and he whirled it around his head…..just wondering….my memory fails me. You may not know what I’m talking about. You’re way too young and live in the North East.

Well, I guess it finally had to happen…

“At the University of Kentucky, however, a student and another man were arrested Thursday for hanging an effigy of Barack Obama from a tree on campus.”
