Thanksgiving Wishes

Thanksgiving Scents.

What’s the aroma at your house when you open the door?

Candied and

Mmmmmmmmmm good!

At our place, you’ll find mountains of turkey and pie, (apple, blueberry, cherry and pumpkin..oh my!)
Sweet yams and mashed potatoes piled high to the sky.

You will find me surrounded by the ones I love most.
Laughing, eating, and offering a toast,
For this meal, For this day,
For the years yet to come,

To my precious family and their zany fun.

To our troops near and far:

Another year has turned its circle,
the seasons still come and go.
The harvest is gathered in;
And chilly north winds have begun to blow.

Those serving our dear Nation are often gone,
Yet their spirit remains, closely drawn

They give us the freedom to celebrate Thanksgiving Day,
So, if you can
keep one plate bare, and for their safety: pray.

I send you all gentle kisses and smiles
Though you are apart from your loved ones by so many miles.

And To you sweet friends,
May your Thanksgiving Day be magnificent from the start till it ends.

So very thankful for all of YOU and my friends at The Pink Flamingo – WordPress, Rosemary’s Thoughts, Faultline USA, The World According to Carl, DragonLady’s World, Pirate’s Cove, The Pink Flamingo, Leaning Straight Up, Democrat=Socialist, L.O.M.A., and Conservative Cat, thanks to Linkfest Haven Deluxe.

Favorite day of the year. I get to cook, and there are so many people around, someone else always ends up cleaning up. Not sure how it works, but it does. If you disappear for about a half-hour after dinner, when you come back, the place is clean. I don’t question it.

    Happy Thanksgiving Angel!

  4. Always On Watch says:

    Thanks Giving !
The giving of thanks to our Lord, blessings to one and all who observe the tradition.

Being grateful for what we have and celebrating with a feast.
Not necessarily … although one of my personal favorites …. we do not reserve the ‘Hermans’ for just Thanksgiving Feast and Christmas.

And just as we have enjoyed a bird on the BBQ or from the smoker or a deep fried extravagance over the summer months, we should also celebrate with every meal and give thanks for our good fortune.

BTW – baked pork chops garnished with fried onions and cabbage sauteed with carrots and seasoned with a little nutmeg. Perogies on the side with sour creme and blintzes with cherries and brandy for desert.

    And it’s only Wednesday!

    Praise the Lord.

Pork ey, i must admit i prefer pork to turkey. Yes, knowing it’s pissing a whole lot of jihadis off gives it that extra kick too. :)

    Africa: The Unnoticed Threat…

What about the Somalian pirates? Ah, yes. Now you look, but what do you really know? For example, did you know that the middle east has been using sub-saharan Africa as a gateway to Mexico so they can enter the United States? Yes, this is happening…

  22. Gayle says:

I know your Thanksgiving was wonderful, Angel, and so is your post. We also had a great Thanksgiving, but even though I was at my daughter’s house, I wound up doing the majority of the cooking. She sweet-talked me into it. “Oh, mom… you know I can’t make dressing as good as yours.” Etc., etc.! By the time it was over I had made the dressing, cooked the turkey, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. I was so looking forward to having someone cook for me for a change. I should have known better! LOL! Well… she did the mashed potatoes, salad, opened a can of cranberry sauce, and did the string beans, so I guess I got off easy.
