Dog is Man and Dog’S BesT FrienD
Footage from a traffic camera overlooking a busy freeway in Santiago, Chile captured a dog performing a heroic act — pulling an injured friend from oncoming traffic.
Warning: Some graphic footage:
The video, from Azteca America Colorado, shows an injured dog lying in the middle of a freeway after being hit by a car, while a rescue dog dodges traffic to run to its side. The rescue dog then drags the severely injured canine across lanes of traffic as cars swerve around it.
‘Hero Dog’ Pulls Injured Friend From Oncoming Traffic
No motorists stopped to help either dog, but a highway crew arrives at the end of the video.
Despite the fact that human beings are animals too, their instincts and innate animal-like compassion and wisdom are often no where to be found.
Admittedly, man possesses a large and complex brain function. For all the good it does it him, at times..whoop-de-doo.
Why is it that some animals are so much more loving and genuine than human animals?
Simple.
It’s because they are simple.
They have well developed emotional or limbic systems.
People have become so infatuated with their brains and ability to reason that many have allowed their intuitive and emotional functions to fade far away.
Humans, forget how to honor their feelings and their intuitive awareness. They worship “the mind” and believe in the overrated fallacy that what we think is reality.
Dogs, on the other hand, remain innocent, sweet, patient, and non-judgemental.
They continue to love you, no matter how nasty you become.
They can still draw out the little inner child within you, even when you do get that nasty.
And you play with them. You get down on all fours…and ………….play.
But, but but..Man has such a huge brain.
Uh huh.
Dogs don’t read mean spirited comments on blogs and then proceed to dignify them with commentary.
We walk down the streets, see one another but act like we don’t notice a thing.
We try “to keep it together”, be cool and act like we humans are self-contained islands.
We spend the better part of our lives hiding our true feelings.
Think you have nothing to learn from a lil doggie?
Think again. (Now, there’s a good way to put that mind to use )
Dogs spend their time wagging their tails, wiggling all over or barking like mad.
They explore, sniff, race to the door to greet you and make their feelings known.
Do you ever wonder what humans would be like if they suddenly allowed their real feelings out?
Perhaps some motorist may have actually stopped to help either dog before the highway crew finally showed up eh?
In memory of Ashley.
I miss you every single day..still.

Dogs are great. About the only time they ever seem to complain is when they think that everyone has left them alone.

Thats one smart dog. Animals often dont understand the danger of roadways.
Since leaving NY many years ago I learned about the insaniity of death guided rabbits with the capacity to aim themselves at moving cars. Luckily I’ve never hit one yet, but they have come close.

What a beautiful and sweet post, Angel. Dogs are awesome, and I believe you are right. They are far more intuitive and compassionate than most people… and forgiving! We humans could learn a lot from them if only we would.
Blessings!

You’ve got me tearing… Dogs have such noble spirits.

I just heard on the radio that some puppies saved a kid today from being trapped in a burning building.

I wonder how many motorists were calling for help. One may not be able to stop on a busy freeway, but can use a cell phone to call for the rescue services.
I love dogs, but love my cat more. With my cat I don’t have to brave cold, icy weather to walk him. I just let him out the door (he’s housebroken so no litter box either).

A lovely touching post Angel, thanks for sharing that vid. What a star of a canine!
I often correct people when they compare evil people to animals, it’s not correct, animals don’t do the things some of us are capable of.

Occasionally, cats show similar behaviors. For example, our old girl Sheba had feline cognitive disorder (Feline Alzheimer’s) and easily got lost when she went outside. The next ranking cat — Dusti — stayed with her and made sure that she got back inside. One day, I actually saw Dusti pushing up against Sheba to guide her. I couldn’t get to the camera in time, or I’d have recorded this incredible kindness on Dusti’s part (Dusti hates being off the porch and had to go out into the yard to monitor Sheba).

Is it just me or does everyone see that DOG spelled backwards is GOD…

Where I live, you see a moving dog in the road, you stop…either the animal moves, or you get out of the car and help him move…
I can’t imagine not one person stopping to help….
AND I loved this….

How true is that!
My mom just got a new puppy, and that little girl has changed her life!

Dogs in general are much more reliable than people.
Most people don’t deserve the loyalty that their dogs will give to them.

My puppy LOVES me. It’s weird. They are the best animals on earth. I love people, but they don’t compare in the love category, usually.

Lovely post, Angel.
I grew up in a very dysfunctional (to put it mildly) family and I’m absolutely positive that having a dog and cats around saved my sanity.
And it taught me to regard people who are cruel to our animal friends with deep loathing.

Dogs, they’re trying to teach us with their enduring patience.
But we have better things to do /…
