WORLD TRADE CENTER renamed

Freedom Tower is out, World Trade Center is in
Agency changes name of building to replace towers destroyed on 9/11

NEW YORK - The Freedom Tower is out. One World Trade Center is in.

The agency that owns the site says that the signature 1,776-foot skyscraper replacing the towers destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001, will be known as One World Trade Center.

“As we market the building, we will ensure that it is presented in the best possible way — and 1 World Trade Center is the address that we’re using,” said Coscia.

“It’s the one that is easiest for people to identify with — and frankly, we’ve gotten a very interested and warm reception to it.”

Press Play:

Y’all know that IMHO, they should have rebuilt the two original towers pronto.
One story higher!

Most of you know that I worked down at Ground Zero for months during rescue and recovery and that I will never be the same……….

MY STORY here.

“One World Trade Center” is perfect: a concrete symbol of the strength and endurance of NYC and America.

Actually………..Rebuilding the WTC with it’s original name is a much stronger protest against terrorism than any name or catchphrase could ever be.
World Trade Center is a historic name that will always remind us of Sept 11th..as it should.
Sadly, too many need reminders.

MY Story 7 Years Later here.

If it were up to the Libs, they’d probably name it the Great Temple of Izzzzzzzzzzlam.
But guess what terrorists and ungrateful, gutless Lib sympathizers?
Wer’e still here.

The subway I ride still says:
WORLD TRADE CENTER.

Beautiful Name indeed.
Hey, if it aint broke: Don’t fix it.

THIS is what was done, and what Libs still make excuses and apologize for.

“WTC” sends QUITE a powerful message: America’s enduring legacy.

Then again..We can always call it:

Pssssssssssttttttttt IzlamoNazi terrorists:

“WER’E BAAAAAAAAAAACK!”

    My feelings exactly.

    ps, check your email.

  2. Red says:

I’m glad they ditched the name “Freedom Tower”. It sounds so PC LIB it makes me want to vomit. I agree with your original idea—rebuild them both one story higher than before. A good ol’ USA FU to the “religion of peacesters”.

  3. Mustang says:

I understand the sentiments expressed in this typically excellent article, but I must tell you that the construction of this project should not begin until we have eliminated terrorists from the face of this earth. I will not live so long, nor do I want to ever again witness Americans leaping to their deaths to escape a fiery death.

  4. MK says:

To the leftards, America always equals bad Angel, no matter what evil your enemies commit, you must have done something to warrant it.

Yeah they should have built it bigger and taller and they should have told the world, the next plane that hits, there will be nukes heading towards mecca in response.

  5. Pasadena Closet Conservative says:

You are right on with this.

Can you imagine how this nation’s historical memory would have suffered if the name of Pearl Harbor had been changed to Peace Harbor?

The towers need to be rebuilt with a big neon sign on top with this message to terrorists: You Want a Piece of Me??

  6. elvis the original terminator says:

Perfect….if it ain’t broke .. don’t fix it…..now we don’t have to say how bizarre , how bizarre.

  7. Katie says:

In calling it by the same name will show the terrorists (yes, that is their name) that we cannot be scared into submission!

  8. Gayle says:

*sigh* The stupid moronic leftards just keep on proving they are stupid and moronic leftards. Nothing, absolutely nothing is ever going to be able to surprise me anymore. You’re absolutely right on target, Angel. They should have rebuilt the towers at least one story higher and called them by the same name.

  9. Debbie says:

It’s a disgrace, Angel, that these towers have not been built after all these years. The terrorists must be proud. It is an insult that the name will no longer be Freedom Tower.

  10. Jason says:

Great post. I would have visited yesterday, but your site is one of the few blocked at the place where I work.

[...] WORLD TRADE CENTER renamed - Woman Honor Thyself [...]

  12. Veritas says:

Thanks for putting this into perspective Angel. I agree with you 100%. My initial reaction was that once again the PA or the lease holder pushed out the architech who was awarded the honor of designing the new building. first his design was changed now the name scrapped.

The fact is that it is the World Trade Center and to call it anything different would be to submit.

I did want the original buildings to be built with a memorial on the floor where each plane impacted. I also thought we would have the new building(s) up by now but too many people were arguing over everythign except how to get the building built quickly to show our resolve.

    Great post!

When I first heard the name would not be Freedom Tower, it was coupled with the news that the first buyer is a Chinese real estate company. I thought the change was to appease the Chinese and I got pissed off big time. Then I read this “Actually………..Rebuilding the WTC with it’s original name is a much stronger protest against terrorism than any name or catchphrase could ever be.” above in your post and did an immediate 180.

  14. Maggie Thornton says:

I’m not opposed to 1 World Trade Center, unless the name was changed to pander to those who prefer to deny that it was terrorism that brought them down. We’ll never know the real story. This is a totally PC name.

If 1 World Trade Center is the original name, then I guess we will no longer be able to distinguish between before and after without explaining.

I agree that two buildings should have been built pronto, and taller than the original.

  15. Brooke says:

They should have remade the original towers, except of of bacon, dammit.

  16. OMMAG says:

I had hoped from the start that where there were two there would be three.

Still that is a possibility. That’s the kind of HOPE and the kind of CHANGE that’s needed.

One good thing that came from the tragedy of 9/11 ….. it brought out the enemies of America who Call themselves American.

They’ve been brazen in their willingness to expose their hatred and contempt of the good people of the USA and their names and faces are well known to all.

The pendulum swings both ways ….

  17. ben says:

“Y’all know that IMHO, they should have rebuilt the two original towers pronto.
    One story higher!”

Angel, I agree. And they should have putthis on both…

    or the bird.

  18. Mojo Steve says:

You mean the Liberal Scabs didn’t want to call it The Holy Edifice to Commemorate the Brave Martyrs of Islam Against the Oppression of America and her Zionist Lackeys in Israel?

  19. Stanford Matthews says:

People can call it whatever they want but it will always be the World Trade Center to me. But it certainly is good that it’s still the official name.

  20. Dinah Lord says:

Count me in as one of those who thought the original towers should have been rebuilt and WTC retained as the name. I kind of like Ben’s idea, too.

The WTC was Dinah’s old stomping ground and your pics just tore at my heart all over again, Miss Angel.

  21. The Hunter says:

“You mean the Liberal Scabs didn’t want to call it The Holy Edifice to Commemorate the Brave Martyrs of Islam Against the Oppression of America and her Zionist Lackeys in Israel?”

    ROFLMAO!

  22. EDGE says:

    Hiya Angel,

Soory I haven’t been around much! Been kinda of busy!

I really wish I could have visited the WTC when it was built. My friend told me it was quite a site to behold!

Hope you are doing well and never fear i will return!

    :)

  23. cube says:

I always wanted them to rebuild the towers and to put a large antenna at the top of one shaped like a hand shooting a middle finger towards the terrorists.

  24. frasypoo says:

    Angel
People have short memories. Its sad and I hope nothing drastic happens to remind them.

  25. nancz says:

forgive me, but i dislike anything with the term “one world” in it. too spooky. “one nation” would have been better, imho.
