Mothers.
Our mother’s love determines how
We love ourselves and all others.
There is no heaven we will ever see
Not lit by that first love.
Devoid of love, the universe
Would drive us all mad with pain.
Mom,
Because of you… our world still has
the soft grace of your warm smile,
And every wind of fortune bears
The scent of your very first caress.
Close your eyes friends, and wish for the one thing
You simply cannot do without.
When you do..
in your heart you will find it, always there:
Love.

My mother is in Heaven now. This will be the second Mothers Day without her. I’ll still celebrate her on Sunday, as I do every day.

Mother’s Day in this household isn’t celebrated any more. My mother died in 1987, and Mr. AOW’s mother is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s and lives out on the West Coast.
Those who still have their mothers to celebrate with are blessed. Enjoy!
