Memorial Day
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
From a headstone in Ireland
A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.
Joseph Campbell
The story of America’s quest for freedom is inscribed on her history in the blood of her patriots.
Randy Vader
Our precious soldiers died for liberty,
They died for us, sweet friends.
Bless them and bless you all.

A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.
This sentence brings to mind Dr David Applebaum hy”d and his daughter Nava the bride who were murdered the day before her wedding. What heros live and die in the land of Israel.

God bless those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our nation.
May 22nd, 2009 at 6:31 pm
From a veteran to all who have served – It was an honor to serve with you, before you or after you. Thank you for giving your time, perhaps your health as well, to the cause of your nation and the people therein! If you died to keep us free, you will not see this but perhaps your family will. Absolutely we as a nation honor you and those who you have left behind. May our friends and our enemies both see that there are millions that understand and applaud those who serve and many will come to take the place of the fallen. That is what it takes to be free.

The “Blood of Heroes Never Dies”…
We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies….

God Bless The USA
by Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there’s pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.
That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA
Thank You Angel…so much…for reminding US….

Thank you.
Today I remember all of those that I served with that did not come home, whether it be in wars I fought in with them,or those we are still fighting.
May God be honored by such men and women who give so much, and ask for so little, but for the honor.

Two of my favorite bloggers put up poems today. Leslie wrote this one especially for Memorial Day, andLA Sunset reminded us that our killed in action left behind loved ones, who suffer still. Happy Memorial Day, Angel … thank you for remembering our warriors, past and present.
